Anki Tutorial 2 - Installing the Fluent Forever Model Deck

  • 0:01 - 0:03
Hi, this is Gabe from fluent-forever.com
  • 0:03 - 0:10
In the last tutorial, we installed Anki and went over some basics
for putting text, pictures, and sound files onto a flashcard
  • 0:10 - 0:15
In this second Anki tutorial, I'm gonna show you how to install my model deck into Anki
  • 0:15 - 0:21
It has a bunch of pre-made flashcard designs in it and it'll save you time when you're trying to use Anki to learn a language
  • 0:21 - 0:29
First off, I want you to go to fluent-forever.com/gallery
  • 0:29 - 0:40
So if you scroll down on this page a little bit
  • 0:40 - 0:45
you're gonna find a link that says "Download it here". That's the model deck
  • 0:45 - 0:51
Right click on that and select download linked file
  • 0:51 - 1:19
Now, double click on this file. It'll open. Anki'll open itself and you should see this little yellow that says "21 cards imported"
  • 1:19 - 1:23
If you run into problems here, if that doesn't happen, then check out the bottom of the fluent-forever.com/gallery page
  • 1:23 - 1:26
I'm planning on keeping some basic troubleshooting information there as people send me stuff
  • 1:26 - 2:59
At this point you're good to go
  • 2:59 - 3:07
To actually make flashcards for a language, go back to this gallery page & choose the type of flashcard you would like to make
  • 3:07 - 3:12
I'm gonna be putting tutorials for each one of these flash card types up on this page
  • 3:12 - 3:20
If you need to learn Chinese / Japanese, then those are slightly different and I'm gonna need a slightly different model deck
  • 3:20 - 3:24
And a slightly different card construction process
  • 3:24 - 3:28
So click on this "Modifications for Chinese / Japanese" page. Read it through.
  • 3:28 - 3:34
But for basically all the other languages, pick the flashcard type you want
  • 3:34 - 3:40
Which you'll see in the book. They'll all be listed in the book and you'll find a tutorial for making that particular flashcard type
  • 3:40 - 3:44
And that is it. Enjoy & I'll see you next time
