    is known is Balti-yul locally

    of Sino-Tibetan language

    This language came to Baltistan when
    Buddhist from Tibet migrated/Invaded to this region 700 years ago

    Before the arrival of Tibetans
    Baltis were followers of Bon religion

    Gradually people left bon religion
    and started practicing Buddhism

    The influence of Tibetan language also increased

    With passage of time Tibetan language
    and Balti language started separating

    Tibetan kingdom had broke into smaller kingdoms

    Then Islam came to Baltistan

    With Islam came the Persian language

    People started using Persian loan words in Balti

    Till that time, Balti was written in Aage

    Also known as Tibetan script or Bod Yige

    After becoming Muslim,
    people stopped writing Balti in Tibetan script

    Now Balti is written in Persian script

    Both Urdu and Balti
    are written in Nastaliq script

    to revive the Tibetan script
