Intro

Hi everyone!

Welcome to Communication Studies 121

Interpersonal communication. My name is

Professor Sally Kassamanian and I will be

your instructor for the class.

I wanted to post this video and introduce

myself so if anybody else would like to do

the same, please feel free to do so

instead of posting a written response

to the introductions forum.

So a little bit about me...I graduated

from Cal State Northridge with a bachelors

and masters in Communication Studies.

I've been teaching for about twelve years

now and I've taught at different campuses

such as LA Mission College, College of

the Canyons, State University Northridge,

Brandman University and of course,

Pierce College.

I love teaching and I love learning from my students.

I feel so lucky that I get to do this for a living.

A little bit more about me...

I guess some hobbies and interests...

Uh, unfortunately I don't have much time

for hobbies these days

I have a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old who

keep me pretty busy. A fun fact about me

would be that I tried to take public

speaking I think about two or three times

I kept dropping it when I was an

undergraduate student and I kept dropping

because I was so afraid of public speaking

but years later, who would've known, here

I am teaching commutation studies courses

including public speaking. A reason that I

love teaching COMM 121, which is

interpersonal communication, is that you

get to learn so much and you get to use this

information in your own lives, in your

relationships. It's...I mean...who doesn't

want to know how to effectively

communicate in their relationships? So I

really hope that you enjoy this class as

much as I enjoy teaching it. And I can't

wait to get to know all of you and

have a great semester.
