In general, do you like
this type of music in the U.S.?

- In the U.S., regular hip hop?

I love it. That's almost all I listen to.

A little rock here and there,
but hip hop is mainly what I vibe with.

- Yes, I do like it in the U.S.

- If I were to choose between
American and Korean hip hop,

I'd pick Korean hip hop.

But then I'd probably pick American rap.

Hip hop has a lot of beats
and a lot of different flows.

When it comes to rhythm,
you can always go super fast

or slow it down,
and even with the beats as well.

- Well, with that song,
I actually kind of liked it.

I noticed there was two or three people
who were rapping in it.

- I couldn't tell what they were saying
because they were just all over the place.

his K-pop group, 2PM,

over statements that he made
about the K-pop trainee system,

and this led to him starting
his own successful YouTube channel

and it grew into his own record label.

What do you think, hearing all that?
- Oh, wow.

- He was tired of the K-pop
pretty boy type of stuff

and, you know, if he's successful,
if he's moving on

and got his own gig and stuff,
why not do it?

- He left and then started
his own YouTube channel

and then started his own label from that?

that you can start a YouTube channel

What did you think of her song and video?

- She definitely is very Nicki Minaj,
you know, girl power type of thing.

- I was paying
more attention to the visual

because it was so good.

- It got kinda confusing at the end

'cause things just started changing around
and I didn't know what was going on.

- For a lot of females to be doing what,
for example, Nicki Minaj,

or even Queen Latifah,
what they do, that's crazy

and they inspire so many girls
to say that hip hop

or rapping is not just for guys.

- (FBE) K-pop has become
this huge, world-wide trend.

And in the last couple of years,
K-hip hop is starting
-
to blow up globally as well.

Do you think that K-hip hop
is gonna continue

to break into the mainstream like K-pop has,
-
or do you think it's
gonna be harder to do it?

- I think it'll be a bit harder.

- I do see K-hip hop breaking through,
-
but I don't think it's
ever gonna get the hype as K-pop.

- The fact that it's starting
to make some waves now
-
and cause a ruckus means
that there's definitely
-
a really good chance
it'll become something popular.

- If you want to be big,
you have to set yourself aside
-
and make yourself your own person.
-
And that's what they kinda don't get yet.
