[COSTCO SUBS PRESENTS]
-
[Interview with a new member]
-
I'm Kenji Yoshihara. I'm 31 years old.
-
I'm a musician.
-
The band I'm playing in is called "SPiCYSOL."
-
I'm a vocalist.
-
We're playing a cross between R&B and surf music.
-
[WHY YOU MOVE IN?]
Needless to say, I hope we become
much popular through Terrace House.
-
We're just known by stylish people who love music so far.
-
I hope to become a household name...
-
I aim to play at a domed stadium but Budokan.
-
Also, I hope to fall in love.
-
[WHAT MADE YOU START MUSIC?]
When I went on a field trip of middle school,
I saw a friend playing the guitar.
-
I thought it was cool.
-
My parents bought a guitar for me.
-
When I went to Karaoke with my friend from high school-
-
Actually a lot of students
in my high school played in bands.
-
Then, they told me to start to play.
-
They said, "If you can sing with your guitar, it'd be more fun." That's why I started.
-
At the beginning, I moved up to Tokyo because I want to be a singer-songwriter like Jack Johnson.
-
But things haven't begun to work out to me for 5 years.
-
Then, I met the current members and formed the band.
-
According to my research, Jack Johnson actually...
-
he's a video director and a surfer as well.
-
Plus he cherishes his family, and also he's a musician.
-
Music is his last priority.
-
You know, many people in Japan prioritize their job.
-
I was really impressed with his way of life.
-
I want to live like him. That's why I followed him.
-
Also that's why I aspired a musician.
-
[ABOUT YOUR PAST RELATIONSHIP]
My last relationship was 3 months ago.
-
My ex is younger than me.
-
She's kind of model.
-
We didn't really hit it off.
-
He hardly takes advantage of his singing when asking girls out.
-
I dared not to go karaoke with the girl
before we were in a relationship.
-
But recently I was found out my music activity,
-
When the girl unexpectedly came to my live show, I sometimes took advantage of my singing.
-
Basically, I want to date someone who comes
to like me as a human but a musician.
-
[WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL ARTIST LIKE?]
In generally, musicians in Japan can't be open about their love lives be, right?
-
There is a cultural background in Japan.
Many musicians keep their personal life separate from work.
-
But, I'm not the type.
-
I’d like to be forthcoming with my love life.
-
If I meet someone who is compatible,
I want to get married soon.
-
I feel like it’d be a good opportunity for me.
-
For better or for worse,
Terrace House is a open environment.
-
Actually, I want to become a musician that's good to his kids.
-
I might become a unique musician in that aspect.
-
It'd be fun if I can be the kind of musician...
also if I find someone attractive.
