-
Hey everyone, Rob Greenfield here.
-
I am in southern France right now, and
-
over the last few years hundreds or even
-
thousands of you have asked me for videos
-
and content about two things:
-
one, families that are living a
sustainable life
-
and two, people that are living more
-
sustainably in a cold climate. You have
-
seen my year of growing and foraging all
-
of my food in Florida, and I was in a warm
-
climate, and you also see that I am
-
an individual and I do not have children
-
or a spouse. I like to provide examples
-
of what people can do in every situation
-
around the United States and
around the world.
-
However, without a family of my own
-
and without living in a cold climate,
-
I am not the example for that.
-
The good news is that I have an amazing
-
YouTube channel that I want to share with
-
you, that I think you should subscribe to
-
that is a great resource for this.
-
If you are a family with children,
-
you can live sustainably. There are
-
thousands or millions of people that are
-
examples of this. If you're living in a
-
cold climate, whether it be across the
-
northern part of the United States or
-
across Canada, or many other colder parts
-
of the world, you can live sustainably.
-
There are alternatives, and the channel
-
that I am about to introduce you to is
-
Exploring Alternatives, and the founders
-
are going to tell you a little bit
about it.
-
Definitely subscribe to Exploring
Alternatives
-
so that you can literally explore the
-
alternatives and see the many different
-
ways that we can live sustainably,
-
live more happily and healthily, and
-
live in harmony connected with the earth.
-
Alright, here they are, love you all!
-
Danielle: Hey everyone, we are Matt and
Danielle from Exploring Alternatives.
-
Matt: And for over five years we have been
-
making videos about alternative lifestyles
-
and spaces like tiny houses, van life,
-
yurts, zero waste, homesteading,
-
living on a sailboat, and a lot more.
-
There is no lifestyle or house that will
-
be perfect for everyone, but we like
-
learning about the ups and downs
and the pros and cons
-
of how single people, couples,
-
and families live so that we can
-
share that information and inspiration
-
with anyone who might be considering
something similar.
-
Danielle: Since we spend most of our time
-
exploring in Canada, we naturally meet
-
people who are living in a cold climate,
-
and we get to learn about the best heat
-
sources, how to avoid freezing pipes,
-
and we are hoping to share more
-
about homesteading in future videos.
-
We have featured a family of seven living
-
off-grid in northern Canada, a mom and her
-
son creating zero waste, a couple living
-
debt free, a homesteading family growing
-
most of their own food, a woman living in
-
her tiny house in winter, and new parents
-
sailing in the tropics with their newborn
baby.
-
So there is a lot of variety on our
channel.
-
Matt: We even featured a guy who grew all
-
of his own food, and even his toilet paper
-
for a full year. If you are looking for
-
examples of people, including families
-
who are living alternative lifestyles and
-
doing it in different climates,
-
you might just find some interesting
videos on our channel.
-
We put out a new video each week, and we
-
will be happy to see you over at
-
Exploring Alternatives, on YouTube.
