How To Trim Your Eyebrows Without A Tweezer

  • 0:03 - 0:05
    - Hi, I'm Lisa Sim from Sim Minerals,
  • 0:05 - 0:07
    and we're here with Hanna.
  • 0:07 - 0:09
    Hanna's a student.
  • 0:09 - 0:11
She don't have no time for a lot of makeup,
  • 0:11 - 0:13
    and maintenance, and brows,
and hair, and all that action.
  • 0:13 - 0:16
But one of her foibles is that
she wants to keep her brows
  • 0:16 - 0:19
as natural and full looking as possible,
but still get rid of some of the weight
  • 0:19 - 0:21
and some of the real straggly things.
  • 0:21 - 0:23
So the technique for doing this is trimming.
  • 0:23 - 0:27
So you need a little spoolie and eyebrow scissors.
  • 0:27 - 0:29
You can get them at Shoppers Drug Mart,
  • 0:29 - 0:30
    places like that.
  • 0:30 - 0:31
    Little, little, little scissors.
  • 0:31 - 0:34
They're specifically made for eyebrow trimming.
  • 0:34 - 0:37
What we have to do is brush upwards.
  • 0:37 - 0:39
You can basically take a look
at how the length is there.
  • 0:39 - 0:41
And it kind of moves around,
  • 0:41 - 0:42
and then we can see how
    it's very wispy over here.
  • 0:42 - 0:45
    We're just going to look
at the way that it naturally grows.
  • 0:45 - 0:47
So brush it in the direction that it grows.
  • 0:47 - 0:51
Don't try to make it go in
    all sorts of different directions
  • 0:51 - 0:52
    that are unnatural for it,
  • 0:52 - 0:54
unless you're planning on gelling it down.
  • 0:54 - 0:57
So first section is section A,
  • 0:57 - 0:59
so that's from the inner corner
to the arch of the brow.
  • 0:59 - 1:01
And if I take my brush and I hold it
  • 1:01 - 1:05
from the corner of her nose
towards the corner of her iris,
  • 1:05 - 1:08
that is about where the arch will be.
  • 1:08 - 1:09
    So this is section A.
  • 1:09 - 1:10
    We will brush upward.
  • 1:10 - 1:13
We can see that is the way that it grows.
  • 1:14 - 1:15
I'm going to hold it down,
  • 1:15 - 1:19
    and anything that's poking
    through above my finger...
  • 1:19 - 1:20
Cut very little at the beginning.
  • 1:20 - 1:22
    That way you're not going
to end up with a hole.
  • 1:22 - 1:24
Let it go and then brush.
  • 1:24 - 1:29
Next section is in the arch,
so we can already see the ones
  • 1:29 - 1:30
    that are much longer.
  • 1:30 - 1:32
    Hold it down,
  • 1:36 - 1:37
and then brush it back through.
  • 1:39 - 1:41
The last section is the tail.
  • 1:41 - 1:43
This is usually where we do see the most hair
  • 1:43 - 1:45
that's kind of like out of the line.
  • 1:45 - 1:49
    Sometimes what helps is cutting
it in the middle of the curl.
  • 1:49 - 1:50
    You actually saw that there
was a little curl in there.
  • 1:50 - 1:52
Cut it in that middle part.
  • 1:53 - 1:54
It shows you whether or not--
  • 1:54 - 1:56
if it'll lie down flat at this point,
  • 1:56 - 1:58
because that's basically we're trying to do
  • 1:58 - 2:01
is just make the brow lie flat now.
  • 2:01 - 2:04
If you see that it needs
a little bit more, go back.
  • 2:10 - 2:13
    For those that have
a little bit more length to it,
  • 2:13 - 2:15
I actually will brush it downwards now.
  • 2:15 - 2:20
And we can see how these tips
of the hair go past her arch.
  • 2:20 - 2:22
So next we'll actually brush it down
  • 2:22 - 2:24
    and then trim from underneath,
  • 2:24 - 2:26
holding that so it doesn't move around.
  • 2:26 - 2:29
And all of a sudden that
really brings the arch back out.
  • 2:29 - 2:30
If you do a little bit of tweezing,
  • 2:30 - 2:34
that tweezing will last twice as long now.
  • 2:35 - 2:36
    Hold it.
  • 2:50 - 2:54
So I'm just going to brush Hanna's other eyebrow,
  • 2:54 - 2:55
so you can compare the difference
  • 2:55 - 2:57
    of what trimming looks like
  • 2:57 - 2:59
    without using any tweezers.
  • 2:59 - 3:01
Okay, so that is the basic technique
  • 3:01 - 3:03
for how to groom your eyebrows
  • 3:03 - 3:07
without using any tweezers, or waxing, or electrolysis.
  • 3:07 - 3:08
    Just a little spoolie
  • 3:08 - 3:10
    and some small eyebrows scissors,
  • 3:10 - 3:11
    and you're good to go.
  • 3:11 - 3:13
