to be really into PewDiePie--

You know, I don't think

- In my head, I was screaming,
but I guess I seem all right.

with enunciation and still do.

like it was that long ago,

but it was.

It was almost three years ago.

I didn't think it
would go as far as it did.

I'm still surprised to this day.

- (Daniel) There's girls at my school
who bring speakers

just to blast this.

It's terrible.

I think One Direction is garbage,
so my music taste

hasn't changed that much.

- (FBE) Can you sing back
any of it for us?

- No.

- (Daniel) I have
a little bit of sense of pride left.

(laughing)
- I still have it!

- (FBE) All right,
Daniel, we're all done.

- (Daniel) Awesome.
- I was so levelheaded.

Wow. I remember
being scared shitless.
-
I remember in high school
I would daydream
-
about being on this show,
and then I am on this show,
-
so that was a very surreal experience.
-
And then I was also told
I was one of 60 kids auditioning,
-
and I was like, "[Bleep],
there's no way in hell
-
I'm getting this part."
-
These 60 other kids
are gonna be 60 people
-
who are better than me.
-
- (FBE) So why did you want to be
on the show in the first place?
-
- (laughing) I actually
really didn't think it through.
-
I know that-- I kind
of just applied and got it
-
and I was like, "Whoa,
I have to do this."
-
I was like, "Okay,
how about I email them?"
-
I got, "Hey, here's your audition.
-
Fill out this application."
-
I remember that
I spent so much time on it.
-
I'm kind of quiet.
I'm a quiet person normally,
-
so every time someone who knows me
finds out I'm on the show,
-
they're like, (taken aback)
"What? You?"
-
I think it's really important to give
people my age voice in the world
-
because we tend
to sort of brush over us
-
and, like, "Oh, they're kids.
They're millennials.
-
They don't know what they're saying."
-
Like, yeah, we kinda do.
We do live here
-
and we should have a voice.
-
- I first started
with YouTubers React,
-
then I started watching
Teens and Kids
-
and I was like, "I wonder one day
if I could do that."
-
And then not too long later,
you guys posted on Instagram saying,
-
"Teens wanted."
-
I'm like, I could do that.
-
I combed my hair,
I made sure to look nice,
-
even though I looked
really curly and bad.
-
Then a couple days later, I got,
"Hey, show me a video,"
-
and it was Civil War,
which is just as bad.
-
I still feel like I'm the new guy.
-
It's been a great journey
and I've enjoyed every bit of it.
-
- It asked for your name,
your location, and your age.
-
I was 15 at the time.
-
So that was late May.
-
I didn't hear back
until early September.
-
So at that point,
it had totally slipped in my mind.
-
I didn't think anything
was gonna happen,
-
and then they're like, "Hey,
we want you to do a screen test."
-
I was like, "Holy shit, mom.
We gotta go!"
-
I never thought much
about this wall before
-
until I was there for the first time
because you can't see
-
anything outside
of this box of YouTube.
-
I was like, "Oh my god, it's all here!
-
It's all in one room.
What the hell?!"
-
There's very few places in life
where you can have
-
your voice heard
by millions of people,
-
and the fact that
this show is so much fun,
-
it's just a combination
of two of those things,
-
it was just like-- it's a dream.
-
- (FBE) So finally,
what would you want to say
-
to anyone who is interested
in becoming a part of this show?
-
What would be your advice to them?
-
- Don't hesitate!
-
Just click-- email them.
-
- Don't be scared to give your opinion
because this is kind of overwhelming,
-
being in here, and you're going to try
to sort of stay in your shell
-
and your bubble and I think my advice
is to get out of that
-
and get out of your comfort zone.
-
You're already here
and you might as well use
-
this platform to show
the world what you think.

I think it's amazing to have this,
and it's amazing
-
to have this opportunity.
