How To Start Pokemon Go! The Right Way!

  • 0:00 - 0:06
Hey guys, so in today's episode, I'm going to share with you guys a few tips of high-level
  • 0:06 - 0:12
Pokémon Go players, and a few mistakes that were made all across the bord. So in this way,
  • 0:12 - 0:15
you start your Pokémon Go journey the right way.
  • 0:15 - 0:22
So the very first thing is: Pokémon Go has no built-in chat. There is a secondary app that
  • 0:22 - 0:28
you can download called Pokémon Go Chat, and it is available on Android, and it will be
  • 0:28 - 0:34
available on iOS by Thursday. So guys, make sure you download this app; it's going to help
  • 0:34 - 0:37
you guys a lot through your Pokémon Go journey.
  • 0:37 - 0:41
Now let's say you've just started your Pokémon Go journey and you've just logged into the
  • 0:41 - 0:47
game. You will see your first three starters as you login. Now, here's the first mistake
  • 0:47 - 0:53
most people make: If you do not see all three of them, do not catch any. If you want to
  • 0:53 - 0:58
choose your starter, you have to walk around a little bit, until you find the one you
  • 0:58 - 1:04
actually want. Guys, if you do catch any of the starters, all other two will disappear,
  • 1:04 - 1:10
but either way, the starter is not something you have to worry about. Because it would
  • 1:10 - 1:15
soon be useless. Trust me, guys, I will talk more about this later on the video.
  • 1:15 - 1:21
Okay, so if you had a chance to actually earn some Pokémon Coins or actually spend some
  • 1:21 - 1:27
money on the game, I would advise you, right now, to just buy a few lucky eggs. Even
  • 1:27 - 1:32
though Incense and Lure Patch will also help you on your journey, Lucky Eggs are the most
  • 1:32 - 1:39
important items as you start your Pokémon Go. So here's an example on why you should use a
  • 1:39 - 1:45
Lucky Egg at the beginning of your journey. Every new Pokémon you catch that you did not
  • 1:45 - 1:52
have on your Pokédex will get you a 500 XP bonus. If you had your Lucky Egg with you, that
  • 1:52 - 2:00
would be 1000. So guys, just by having a Lucky Egg, you're getting 500 extra XP. That
  • 2:00 - 2:07
does not sound like much, but it is, guys. XP is very hard to come by, for an example, for
  • 2:07 - 2:13
beating a Pokémon Gym, wasting items, and the health of your Pokémon, you only earn 100
  • 2:13 - 2:19
XP. So that's how you can see how important a Lucky Egg is at the beginning of the game.
  • 2:19 - 2:25
Another very important thing is really throwing the ball well. And I do have a tutorial,
  • 2:25 - 2:30
that is down by the description, on how you can earn excellent throws, great throws, nice
  • 2:30 - 2:34
throws, curved throws, and how that works. If you want to check that out, it will be down
  • 2:34 - 2:36
    by the description.
  • 2:36 - 2:41
Okay, so whether you have Lucky Eggs or not, you are going to your first Poké Stop. At
  • 2:41 - 2:47
Poké Stops, you'll be able to find Poké Balls, Revives, Potions, and even Pokémon Eggs.
  • 2:47 - 2:54
Now, if you didn't know, Poké Stops have a cooldown of around 5 minutes. So a good way is
  • 2:54 - 3:00
to plan ahead. Guys, find a Poké Stop that has a nearby Poké Stop of 5 minutes walk or
  • 3:00 - 3:06
less. This way, you can keep switching from one Poké Stop to the other, and earning items
  • 3:06 - 3:12
every 5 minutes. Now, if you did have a bit of money invested in the game, you could use a
  • 3:12 - 3:17
Lure Patch in any of the Poké Stops, and it will draw Pokémon to you, and this way you
  • 3:17 - 3:22
won't have to walk at all. But it kind of loses the purpose of the game. I still like the
  • 3:22 - 3:28
walking better, and you can catch just about the same amount of Pokémon if you're walking,
  • 3:28 - 3:33
as if you were using Lure Patch. But, as you can see from the image, by using a
  • 3:33 - 3:38
combination of Incense and Lure Patch, it's possible to have many Pokémon all around you.
  • 3:38 - 3:43
As you can see by this picture, this guy has 10 Pokémon all around him for him to catch.
  • 3:43 - 3:49
If he didn't spend any money on Poké Balls, he could run out of Poké Balls really quickly,
  • 3:49 - 3:53
so it is important to visit different Poké Stops and get more items.
  • 3:53 - 3:58
Now let's go back to your starter and weaker Pokémon. Now guys, even though you might be
  • 3:58 - 4:05
tempted to waste Candies and Stardust on those weak Pokémon, please don't, because soon
  • 4:05 - 4:12
enough, you'll start finding randomly high CP Pokémon of the last evolution. And for
  • 4:12 - 4:19
those Pokémon, you definitely will need more Stardust and more Candies. It is a common
  • 4:19 - 4:25
mistake made by a lot of players: You spend your Candies trying to evolve Pokémon that
  • 4:25 - 4:29
you're not going to use, and then when you have the final evolution of the Pokémon, you do
  • 4:29 - 4:36
not have any more Candies, or even Stardust, to level up. So guys, save all your items.
  • 4:36 - 4:38
    Do not spend anything.
  • 4:38 - 4:45
So the last thing I've left for this video is: Avoid Gyms at all costs. Gyms will be very
  • 4:45 - 4:50
expensive at the beginning. If you try to battle enemy Gyms, you will waste Potions on
  • 4:50 - 4:56
weak Pokémon, you will waste Revives, and you will need those items later. So my advice
  • 4:56 - 5:01
here is: Try to go as fast as you can to find Gyms that are not taken over, the gray
  • 5:01 - 5:08
Gyms. Place a weak Pokémon there, or find Gyms that are all by your own team, and place
  • 5:08 - 5:13
your Pokémon there. You do not need to have the highest CP Pokémon at that Gym in order to
  • 5:13 - 5:19
earn the defender bonus. As long as you have one Pokémon there, you will still earn it.
  • 5:19 - 5:26
So find said Gyms; do not, do not, do not place your strongest Pokémon, guys. A lot of
  • 5:26 - 5:32
other Beta testers made this mistake. You do not want to place your strongest Pokémon,
  • 5:32 - 5:34
because you will need it to battle later.
  • 5:34 - 5:40
So as we've seen an announcement made by John Hanke today, it is very important to team up
  • 5:40 - 5:47
with friends. So gather your friends, team up, in order to beat a Gym. Don't try to be the
  • 5:47 - 5:52
solo hero, because you will waste more than you will gain. So the main focus of the game
  • 5:52 - 5:54
    is: Team up.
  • 5:54 - 5:58
So I hope you enjoyed these tips. There are other tips in a previous video, that will
  • 5:58 - 6:04
also be on the description, on how you can level up really fast in Pokémon Go, and,
  • 6:04 - 6:10
obviously, how to throw effectively in Pokémon Go. So, for now, guys, please subscribe,
  • 6:10 - 6:15
stay tuned for more tutorials, and daily gameplays once the game is released. I thank you
  • 6:15 - 6:17
    all, and train on.
