Unboxing the New Firefox

  • 0:05 - 0:07
Hey what's up everybody, it's me Greg
  • 0:07 - 0:10
And today we got a new
    un-boxing video for you guys
  • 0:10 - 0:14
we are going to be cracking open
    the new Firefox
  • 0:14 - 0:16
So I'm pretty pumped about this one
  • 0:16 - 0:17
    If you don't know
  • 0:17 - 0:21
    Firefox is made by Mozilla.
They're kind of a cool company
  • 0:21 - 0:23
    They are non-profit
  • 0:23 - 0:25
so everything that they do is
  • 0:25 - 0:27
with the best interest to the user in mind
  • 0:27 - 0:29
and for the greater good of the Web
  • 0:29 - 0:31
so they stand for things like privacy
  • 0:31 - 0:33
    and Net Neutrality and keeping
    things open and free
  • 0:33 - 0:36
    which is pretty cool
So anytime they make something new
  • 0:36 - 0:37
I'm always interesting to check it out
  • 0:37 - 0:39
    and I'm gonna quit yappin
  • 0:39 - 0:42
and we're just gonna slice it open
    and get started
  • 0:44 - 0:46
    Packed in there nice.
  • 0:56 - 0:58
Alright, there's a nice foam here.
  • 1:00 - 1:03
    Boom, there it is
    the new Firefox
  • 1:05 - 1:06
    looks so nice, looks sweet
  • 1:09 - 1:10
    So first impression
  • 1:10 - 1:13
um, it looks really really great
  • 1:13 - 1:18
    it's really light, its airy,
    it feels really fast
  • 1:18 - 1:21
I can tell just by looking at that it's
not gonna be chewing up a lot my RAM,
  • 1:21 - 1:22
and my memory and I'm gonna be able to
  • 1:22 - 1:25
    run scripts, load apps
  • 1:27 - 1:29
have a ton of tabs open and
I'm gonna still be able to get stuff done
  • 1:29 - 1:31
it's not going to slow me down so I love that
  • 1:31 - 1:33
    Another thing that's
    really jumping out at me
  • 1:33 - 1:37
    Is the craftsmanship.
This looks really really well made
  • 1:37 - 1:39
    it's very sleek
  • 1:39 - 1:41
    It feels intuitive
  • 1:41 - 1:43
It feels like whoever made this
  • 1:43 - 1:46
    took their time with it
  • 1:46 - 1:49
and really cares about what they're making
  • 1:49 - 1:53
this is a labor of love
this thing is pretty pretty dope
  • 1:54 - 1:55
    this thing's feels personal
  • 1:55 - 1:57
    Pretty cool
Let's see what else is in the box
  • 2:00 - 2:05
    alright, oh nice,
we got the forget button and hello
  • 2:06 - 2:09
    the forget button pretty sweet
comes pre-installed in the browser bar
  • 2:09 - 2:13
with the click a button I can
    delete my browser history
  • 2:13 - 2:14
    and my cookies
  • 2:14 - 2:17
you know and I can even
customize it, too, which is nice
  • 2:17 - 2:20
so if I only want to delete the
    last five minutes
  • 2:20 - 2:22
or let's say the last two hours
    of my browser history
  • 2:22 - 2:26
I can do that because there's nothing
sketchier than an empty browser history
  • 2:26 - 2:27
if you know what I mean so
  • 2:27 - 2:29
    yeah it's pretty cool.
  • 2:29 - 2:31
This one is also pretty awesome
  • 2:31 - 2:35
this feature is called "Hello" so this
    is also exclusive to Firefox
  • 2:34 - 2:39
the thing that sets this apart with all
the other chat features is the fact that
  • 2:39 - 2:43
it is super super easy, so, from what I
    understand
  • 2:43 - 2:47
all you have to do is send somebody a
link, and they click on the link
  • 2:47 - 2:49
    and boom, you're chatting.
  • 2:49 - 2:52
You don't have to sign up for anything,
    you don't have to
  • 2:52 - 2:55
    log in, remember a password.
    You just send a link,
  • 2:55 - 2:56
    they click. Boom, we're talking.
  • 2:56 - 2:58
    Seems like
it's got a lot of fun applications
  • 2:58 - 3:00
because it is so easy so
  • 2:59 - 3:02
oh well I'll be calling you soon we'll
    be chatting up
  • 3:03 - 3:07
so that's about it for in the box I think
  • 3:07 - 3:10
yup alright, only thing left to do now is
take this puppy for a spin
  • 3:10 - 3:25
    (music)
  • 3:25 - 3:28
stock, right out of the box, I'm feeling it
  • 3:29 - 3:33
really really nice easy to use
    well-designed
  • 3:33 - 3:37
I really like the interface, it is just very very
    well made
  • 3:38 - 3:41
doesn't feel like a corporate sterile
    browser at all
  • 3:42 - 3:47
one of the things I've always loved about Firefox is that
they always have great add-ons and extensions
  • 3:47 - 3:51
and features so I can customize the browser
  • 3:52 - 3:55
So let's do that, let's take it to the next
    level
  • 3:57 - 4:00
I'm really a big fan of Adblock Plus
  • 4:01 - 4:03
    This is the Ghostery
  • 4:03 - 4:07
It's a sweet add-on. You should look into it. It keeps
    you on the stealth
  • 4:07 - 4:10
another one is that I'm really excited
    about
  • 4:10 - 4:16
is Lightbeam. so what Lightbeam does is
it lets you see which third-party
  • 4:16 - 4:20
sites are tracking you as you browse the
web, you know based on your privacy settings
  • 4:20 - 4:24
and it's really interesting to see just
how much you are being tracked
  • 4:24 - 4:27
I really also like LastPass password
    manager
  • 4:27 - 4:30
    LastPass is awesome because
  • 4:30 - 4:34
Like I said, we got a lot of passwords
out there and it just helps keep track them all
  • 4:34 - 4:38
it's really easy, and that's cool but the
    thing is that
  • 4:39 - 4:42
you can customize a lot browsers every
browser lets you customize it but
  • 4:42 - 4:44
Firefox really lets you kind of take that to
    the next level
  • 4:44 - 4:47
they let you make it personal, get to
make it really really unique to you in a
  • 4:48 - 4:49
way that you can't with other browsers
  • 4:52 - 4:58
So, I'm gonna make mine a little bit more me
    a little more Greg.
  • 5:03 - 5:05
This is one of my favorite extensions I like
    to add
  • 5:12 - 5:13
    Oh ya
  • 5:15 - 5:16
    This is legit
  • 5:17 - 5:20
This is tight. This is me right here. This
    is all me
  • 5:21 - 5:22
    Oh ya
  • 5:24 - 5:27
You know for a while it used to be
  • 5:27 - 5:32
the Firefox is only available on certain
    phones but now
  • 5:33 - 5:38
    It's available on mobile devices
  • 5:39 - 5:39
    Too sweet
  • 5:40 - 5:43
I can take it everywhere I want to go
  • 5:43 - 5:46
There you have it. That's the new Firefox
  • 5:47 - 5:52
Overall, I'm into it. I really really like
    it.
  • 5:52 - 5:55
Well designed. It's really fast, performs
really well. Super customizable so you can make it personal.
  • 5:56 - 6:00
It's a lot of great new features, the forget button
sweet, I'm gonna use that all the time
  • 6:00 - 6:04
the "Hello" video chat total no brainer
super simple anybody can use it
  • 6:05 - 6:08
overall I'm just really impressed I highly
    recommend you download it today
  • 6:09 - 6:13
you'll dig it. as always, if you like what
    you saw, like the video
