A history of (r)evolutions

For a long time, we thought

the earth was

the center of the world,

flat and, too bad,

there was nothingness at the end.

But it's not!

The earth is round and

revolves around the sun

We thought

the human being came to the earth

like this, one morning.

But it's not!

life slowly evolved

over several billion years

by mutation and natural selection.

A joyful odd jobs

sometimes met with difficulties.

Among the two million of living species

identified on the earth,

we find the human being.

With his conscience, we thought

he was a being absolutely free.

rational, and self-controlled.

But it's not!

The man doesn't own his abode,

he has to compromise

with desires and repressed drives

in the depths of his soul.

This is Unconscious mind.

We thought

our so-called "modern" society

could meet all our needs

and always find

an infinite economic growth

and benefit from illimited resources.

But it's not!

Now, we realized the human activities

have endangered our life for 150 years.

As it has caused

the consumption of natural resources,

an unprecedented pollution

and it has mounted social inequalities.

A new revolution must be led.

What about changing the world

by changing ourselves as well?
