with that amount of talent,

to be told that she can't do somethin',

you could tell she loves
proving people wrong.

that's lit under me to really show 'em."

big success on YouTube,

but her album, Shatter Me,
debuted at number two

on the Billboard Charts back in 2014.

- That Shatter Me album, I went out
and bought it the first day it was out.

with artists such as John Legend

and played at venues
like The Kennedy Center.

What do you think of her ability
to cross over into mainstream success?

- Well, isn't that what
YouTube's all about,

is getting yourself out there,
putting yourself out there?

- She found her niche
and she's rollin' with it.

You can't stop her.
Man, she can't be stopped.

- A lot of really amazing success stories
have come out of YouTube.

- It's also an opportunity
for other artists

to cross over into YouTube success.

a really good musician too,

so you want to collaborate
with really good musicians.

And you see something visually stunning,

who wouldn't want to be a part of that?

she has spoken about

not being taken as seriously sometimes
because of her online following.

What do you think about that?

- That's sucks if it's true.

- She's a better musician or artist
than people that are on TV.

- Isn't that the story of every YouTuber?

Like, no one's ever taken seriously?

But they're constantly proving people wrong.

- People sometimes look at YouTube
and there's this kind of stigma,
-
and not really taken seriously,
but, I mean, that's changing.

- People are looking at that like
that's not the way that they did it,
-
therefore it's not the right way,
and they're idiots.
-
Just don't listen to people like that.
-
They're stupid.

for others who are pursuing

their own aspirations,
seeing the massive success of Lindsey?

- I think it's a beacon of hope for them.

There's just something extra-special
about being told no
-
and then showing everybody wrong,
like, proving them wrong.

- Younger people are not really used
to seeing any artist play the violin.
-
The fact that she's taking
a classical instrument
-
and she's making it contemporary,
I think that stands out.
-
- Any time you find someone
who has followed their passion
-
and they have had that success,
watch those people.
-
Because for every one
of those you will find,
-
you will find 20, 30, 40 or 50 people
who were too scared shitless
-
to follow their own passion,
and since they were scared
-
will try and talk you
out of following your own.
