Sprite Lab: How To Make A Sprite
-
0:07 - 0:11It's time to dig into some fun features
of Sprite Lab. -
0:11 - 0:13The first thing to do is set up a sprite.
-
0:13 - 0:18To add a sprite you can use the "make a new sprite" block.
-
0:18 - 0:21This block lets you give your sprite a name,
-
0:21 - 0:25a costume and a location.
-
0:25 - 0:28This sprite is named Dusty and the costume is a fish.
-
0:28 - 0:31If you want to change Dusty's location
-
0:31 - 0:33you can click the pin and the location block
-
0:33 - 0:37and then click where you want Dusty to go.
-
0:37 - 0:39Dusty's looking a little too big.
-
0:39 - 0:44To make a sprite smaller you can use this "set sprite size" block.
-
0:44 - 0:47Let's change Dusty's size to 50...
-
0:47 - 0:49that's much more better.
-
0:49 - 0:53Action blocks like "set size" run only
once. -
0:53 - 0:56Now let's get Dusty moving by using a behavior.
-
0:56 - 1:00You can start by giving Dusty the "spinning right" behavior.
-
1:00 - 1:04Once the behavior begins it will run over and over again forever,
-
1:04 - 1:06or until you tell it to stop.
-
1:06 - 1:08And that's all there is to it.
-
1:08 - 1:10Now it's your turn!
