Sprite Lab: How To Make A Sprite

  • 0:07 - 0:11
It's time to dig into some fun features
    of Sprite Lab.
  • 0:11 - 0:13
The first thing to do is set up a sprite.
  • 0:13 - 0:18
To add a sprite you can use the "make a new sprite" block.
  • 0:18 - 0:21
This block lets you give your sprite a name,
  • 0:21 - 0:25
    a costume and a location.
  • 0:25 - 0:28
This sprite is named Dusty and the costume is a fish.
  • 0:28 - 0:31
If you want to change Dusty's location
  • 0:31 - 0:33
you can click the pin and the location block
  • 0:33 - 0:37
and then click where you want Dusty to go.
  • 0:37 - 0:39
Dusty's looking a little too big.
  • 0:39 - 0:44
To make a sprite smaller you can use this "set sprite size" block.
  • 0:44 - 0:47
    Let's change Dusty's size to 50...
  • 0:47 - 0:49
    that's much more better.
  • 0:49 - 0:53
Action blocks like "set size" run only
    once.
  • 0:53 - 0:56
Now let's get Dusty moving by using a behavior.
  • 0:56 - 1:00
You can start by giving Dusty the "spinning right" behavior.
  • 1:00 - 1:04
Once the behavior begins it will run over and over again forever,
  • 1:04 - 1:06
or until you tell it to stop.
  • 1:06 - 1:08
And that's all there is to it.
  • 1:08 - 1:10
    Now it's your turn!
