Monday Morning Team Motivation | Jack Ma Life Story ( CEO of Alibaba) | Goal Quest

  • 0:00 - 0:04
    I don´t have a rich father
  • 0:04 - 0:07
    no from well educate
  • 0:07 - 0:09
I said, I tried three times
    for university,
  • 0:09 - 0:10
    all failed.
  • 0:10 - 0:14
    For the last time
    I went to teachers college
  • 0:14 - 0:20
    which was considered the third
or fourth class of my city,
  • 0:20 - 0:23
but I think that is the
best university I have ever had
  • 0:23 - 0:26
    Better than Harvard and Wharton
  • 0:26 - 0:28
I applied for Harvard for ten times
  • 0:28 - 0:31
    all failed they don´t want
    see me. Terrible.
  • 0:33 - 0:37
And I think that is the
    normal life
  • 0:37 - 0:38
    it was so difficult
    at the time.
  • 0:39 - 0:41
    I was so frustrated
  • 0:41 - 0:43
    because I taught
    in the university
  • 0:43 - 0:46
    my pay was ten dollars
    a month.
  • 0:46 - 0:49
It was not easy, but I
    believed that something
  • 0:49 - 0:51
    is waiting for me there
  • 0:52 - 0:54
and I have to work hard
  • 0:54 - 0:55
    to prove myself,
  • 0:55 - 0:58
    That was a tough experience.
  • 0:58 - 1:00
    And I never thought
    I was smart,
  • 1:00 - 1:02
    nobody believed that
    I could be successful
  • 1:02 - 1:05
    Because everybody says,
    this guy thinks differently
  • 1:05 - 1:06
    think crazily
    you know.
  • 1:06 - 1:08
    think about something
    that will never work.
  • 1:08 - 1:09
    Nobody agree with
  • 1:09 - 1:11
As I said, "I believe it"
  • 1:11 - 1:14
    because I saw the computer
in 1994 when I went to USA
  • 1:14 - 1:17
I think this thing could be big,
  • 1:17 - 1:21
I never thought it would be
    that big like today.
  • 1:21 - 1:23
Honestly, people say you are smart,
  • 1:23 - 1:25
    you have a big vision.
  • 1:25 - 1:27
I am lukcy to know lot of
    famous people,
  • 1:27 - 1:30
    Bill Gates, Warren Buffet,
  • 1:30 - 1:33
    Jack Welch, Larry Page
    Mark Zuckerberg.
  • 1:33 - 1:35
I would like to share with you,
  • 1:35 - 1:38
    the difference between those people
    and other people
  • 1:38 - 1:41
    they are always optimistic for
    the future,
  • 1:41 - 1:45
    they never complain
  • 1:45 - 1:49
    they always try to solve
    problems of the others.
  • 1:49 - 1:52
And I think where is the
    opportunity?
  • 1:52 - 1:56
    the opportunity always
    lies in the place
  • 1:56 - 1:58
    where people complain.
  • 1:58 - 2:01
Some people sit there an complain,
  • 2:01 - 2:03
you think if I can solve
    that complain
  • 2:03 - 2:06
    that is the opportunity.
  • 2:06 - 2:07
    Because when everybody agrees,
  • 2:07 - 2:10
    Why this opportunity
    should be yours?
  • 2:10 - 2:12
    Because lot of people
    don´t agree with it
  • 2:12 - 2:13
    and you think
    this is good.
  • 2:13 - 2:15
    Think carefully and find a
    a group of people
  • 2:15 - 2:17
    work it together,
  • 2:17 - 2:21
    making sure that the people
    working with you together
  • 2:21 - 2:22
    believe the dreams.
  • 2:22 - 2:25
    Whether investors believe
    this or not,
  • 2:25 - 2:27
    whether your friends
    believe it or not,
  • 2:27 - 2:29
    whether your parents
    believe it or not.
  • 2:29 - 2:30
    That´s not important.
  • 2:30 - 2:31
    You believe it,
  • 2:31 - 2:32
    your team believe it
  • 2:32 - 2:34
and work day and night on this.
  • 2:35 - 2:37
    That´s when the things happens
  • 2:37 - 2:39
    everybody is the same.
  • 2:39 - 2:43
Becase, we´re start from the same line
  • 2:43 - 2:47
    the best, the best assets
    you have is that
  • 2:47 - 2:49
    you are young
  • 2:49 - 2:51
    don´t complain,
  • 2:51 - 2:53
    let the other people complain
  • 2:53 - 2:55
    those people complain
  • 2:55 - 2:56
    those people who fail.
  • 2:56 - 3:00
Think about how you can make things
    different,
  • 3:00 - 3:02
use your own brain to think.
  • 3:02 - 3:05
    Is there an opportunity inside?
  • 3:05 - 3:07
Is there anything I can do make
    the difference?
  • 3:07 - 3:10
    Think about this
  • 3:10 - 3:12
and then when you think about this
  • 3:12 - 3:13
    start to do it.
  • 3:13 - 3:14
I saw lot of people, young people
  • 3:14 - 3:17
have a fantastic ideas every evening
  • 3:17 - 3:19
but In the morning they go to the office
    same again.
  • 3:19 - 3:21
    Make the move,
  • 3:21 - 3:22
    make the action.
  • 3:22 - 3:24
    To everybody to any person
  • 3:25 - 3:27
    Tomorrow is new.
  • 3:27 - 3:29
You have to work very hard,
  • 3:29 - 3:32
    either work for the others
  • 3:32 - 3:33
    or work for yourself.
  • 3:33 - 3:35
    And I choose the way
  • 3:35 - 3:36
    to work for myself
  • 3:36 - 3:38
    but working for myself
  • 3:38 - 3:40
that means working for the society,
  • 3:40 - 3:42
If you really want to work for yourself
  • 3:42 - 3:44
    think about the others.
  • 3:44 - 3:45
    Making sure you help others
  • 3:45 - 3:49
because, only when the other people
    are successfull
  • 3:49 - 3:51
when the other people are happy
  • 3:51 - 3:53
    you will be successful,
  • 3:53 - 3:57
    you will be happy.
