-
- Okay. It is stationary haul time.
-
Is that okay with you guys?
-
I'm assuming you're all saying yes.
-
(light music)
-
Hello friends. It's Amanda; welcome back.
-
I haven't done a
stationary haul in a while,
-
but of course, you guys know me.
-
I've accumulated a bunch of new stationary
-
over the past couple of months.
-
This time I have a lot
of new hand lettering
-
and calligraphy supplies
like brush pens and stuff.
-
I always feel like an excited
kid showing my friends
-
the new toys I got for Christmas
-
whenever I do these hauls, which
I guess is pretty accurate.
-
Anyway, we all know I
talk a little bit too much
-
during these hauls,
-
so let's just get started.
-
We're gonna start with Kuretake,
-
because I have the most items from them
-
and they actually did sponsor this video
-
and send me a lot of their
collection to try out.
-
Like, a lot of brush pens.
-
So, I'm very excited.
-
I have tried out a lot of
Kuretake products before.
-
I've mentioned them in
my bullet journal videos,
-
and in previous hauls.
-
I love the quality of their products.
-
They're a Japanese brands, so, you know.
-
We all know Japanese
stationary brands are.
-
This haul is kind of brush
pen and calligraphy focused.
-
So, I'm gonna take you guys
through some of the brush pens
-
they sent me and show you guys
-
some of the differences between
all of the different types
-
of brush pens, because Kuretake
has a really wide range
-
in their collection,
-
and I know it can be a little confusing
-
when you're shopping to figure
out what's the difference
-
between them and which ones
are the best for you to get.
-
So I'll try my best to show
you guys the difference
-
between all of them, but starting off,
-
we have the Kuretake ZIG
Clean Color Real Brush set,
-
and look at this.
-
This is an absolute unit of a set.
-
There's 90 colors in here,
as you can see. Quite a lot.
-
And it comes in this
nifty little case as well.
-
So, storage-wise, I would
just keep it in here
-
unless I wanna take it out
-
and put it in my little cubby units.
-
But there are so many
colors, which I love.
-
So what makes these unique
-
compared to all of the
other brush pens and markers
-
that I'm about to show you
-
is that these are actually a real brush,
-
like the name implies.
-
So if you look really closely at the tips,
-
you'll actually be able to
see the individual bristles.
-
And it looks like an actual paintbrush,
-
unlike a lot of other
brush pens and markers,
-
which are actually just
like, felt tip markers.
-
So yeah, these are real brush,
-
and there were so many different colors.
-
These are also water-based dye ink.
-
So because of the like,
brush aspect of it,
-
and the water-based
ink, this will give you
-
that really, like watercolor-y,
-
really loose flowing
look to your calligraphy.
-
Because the brush is a
little bit harder to control
-
than say, like a felt tip,
-
you kind of have to practice
with these a little bit more,
-
but you can get some
really nice, fluid results,
-
especially if you're going for like,
-
the dry brush look or
like, a watercolor-y look.
-
I think these are really cool.
-
And of course the tip is super flexible,
-
because they are just
like individual bristles.
-
So, these are really awesome.
-
I'm excited to play with these a lot more,
-
especially, you guys know,
-
I've been experimenting a lot more
-
in my bullet journal.
-
So having all of these
colors will come in handy,
-
I'm sure at some point.
-
I think these are really great,
-
not only for lettering,
-
but also for illustration and like,
-
watercolor type stuff,
-
because the bristles will
make it really easy to blend.
-
Like literally on the
front cover of the set,
-
you can see someone did,
like a illustration.
-
Typically brush pens
with like, real bristles
-
aren't my first choice for calligraphy,
-
but I do use it a lot for illustration.
-
Like, in my April "Plan with
Me" setup with the bamboo,
-
I did actually use a
real bristle brush pen
-
for that as well.
-
So, you can achieve some really cool looks
-
with these brush pens.
-
Just look at all these colors, guys.
-
You can't go wrong.
-
All right, next up, we have
the Kuretake ZIG Brushables.
-
And I've used these before.
-
I had a couple colors that I got,
-
I think when I was actually in Japan.
-
I picked up a couple just to try out,
-
but this is a full set
and it actually has.
-
How many does it have?
-
I guess I'll count myself.
-
Three, four, five six, seven,
eight, nine, 10, 11, 12.
-
So, there's 24 different
colors in this set.
-
However, it's actually
technically 48 colors.
-
What's cool about the ZIG Brushables
-
is that they're dual tipped.
-
And I know a lot of other brush pens
-
come in dual tips except, one
side would be like a brush,
-
and then the other side
-
is just like a thin felt tip marker.
-
But what's cool about the ZIG Brushables
-
is that they are a dual tip,
-
and both sides are actually the brush tip.
-
So, you really get so
much bang for your buck.
-
On all of the markers,
-
you'll have the one main color
-
on one side and then a lighter version
-
of that same color on the other side.
-
So, it's kind of really
easy to match up colors
-
and blend between the two.
-
I think they do that so that
you can really blend easily,
-
and get really cool, like Ombre
effects for your lettering.
-
In terms of the ink in this,
-
this is water-based,
acid-free, pigment ink.
-
So, it's a little bit
different from the Real Brush.
-
With pigment ink, it's
really long lasting.
-
So, you won't find it like
fading on paper and stuff.
-
So the brush tip on these
are definitely a lot thicker
-
than the Real Brush, the ones
that I just showed you guys.
-
They do have some like, stiffness to them.
-
They're pretty firm, but
it's definitely soft enough
-
for when you press down
-
you can get some pretty
thick brush strokes.
-
And I just really like these.
-
I love the colors and
like being able to blend
-
so that you don't need to buy like,
-
10 million different markers.
-
You can basically have the
blending right in here.
-
So yeah, those are the ZIG Brushables.
-
I hadn't had a chance to
use them too, too much
-
before this pack, but
just in the few tests
-
that I've been playing
around with them this week,
-
I really, really like these.
-
And they might be one of
my new favorite brush pens
-
just because of the versatility
-
of having the two brush
pens on both sides.
-
Then next, moving on to
something kind of similar
-
to the Brushables.
-
These are the Kuretake SIG Fudebiyori.
-
I've used these a lot before.
I have a bunch of them.
-
I really, really like these.
-
I don't have this set though.
-
I think I only had like a set of 12
-
and it was the basic like, primary colors.
-
So this is a set of 24
-
and it comes with a lot of
different, more pastel colors.
-
This gray, the Fudebiyori gray,
-
I've used in so many different
bullet journal setups.
-
You have no idea.
-
I think it's just because
I've never seen a brush pen
-
or a marker that has
this light gray color.
-
It's perfect for adding shadows to things
-
or layering colors
-
if you just want some
slight emphasis on it.
-
So, I have used this for quite a lot.
-
In terms of the actual
like, tip of the marker,
-
the difference between the tip on these
-
versus the Brushables
-
is that these have a
slightly smaller size,
-
and they're actually a lot more stiff
-
than the Brushables.
-
So, this is also water-based dye ink,
-
and the tip is also felt
tip like the Brushables.
-
But because of the
stiffness of the brush tip,
-
it's actually suitable
for smaller lettering
-
compared to the Brushables.
-
Where the Brushables, since
they have that soft tip,
-
you can get that really thick downstroke
-
and create some really
large lettering pieces.
-
But with the stiffer brush tip,
-
it's better for like, the
smaller size lettering.
-
And then something else
I really like about them
-
is that they come in these
really beautiful metallic colors,
-
which I have all of these already.
-
I've had them for years now.
-
If you've watched any of my
Christmas card lettering videos,
-
you'll see that I use these a lot.
-
They show up so beautifully
on top of black paper.
-
And speaking of the black paper, finally,
-
they also have a Fudebiyori
Milky White pigment brush pen.
-
This is actually super cool.
-
I've never really seen this before.
-
This is the ZIG Fudebiyori
Milky White pigment.
-
So, it's the same line as the Fudebiyori.
-
It's more of like a paint marker.
-
It's still like water-based pigment,
-
but it actually shows up on
top of the markers really well.
-
I tested it out a little
bit before this video
-
and it's really cool.
-
It's kind of like a mix
between a blending marker
-
and a paint marker.
-
So, when you stroke on top
of any of the other colors,
-
you'll see that it kind of fades nicely
-
and you can get this Ombre
effect just by using this
-
instead of having to blend
between two different colors.
-
There's definitely a lot
of possibilities with this.
-
Okay, next we have the Kuretake
ZIG Cocoitero letter pen.
-
And these are actually, I think,
-
my favorite discovery of this haul round.
-
But basically they're a refillable
mix and match brush pens.
-
They sell the body of the
pens like this separately,
-
and you can buy a lot of different refills
-
and then switch it out
-
depending on how you want
your brush pen to look.
-
So, you can mix and match.
-
They come with different
colors of refills.
-
I have this like mint green color.
-
I also have sepia, black, and blue.
-
And then, once you have your refill,
-
this is all you have to do.
-
So, let me show you guys.
-
This is the refill. You just
unscrew the little clear part.
-
Like so; and then with your body,
-
all you have to do is just
insert that into the body.
-
Screw it in. And you have
a brush pen like this.
-
And then, if you wanted to switch it out,
-
all you would have to
do is just unscrew it,
-
take it out.
-
I would keep the little clear plastic part
-
so that I can make sure that
the ink doesn't dry out,
-
and save these refills for later.
-
But I think it's really cool and smart
-
that you can just switch
them out like that
-
once you run out or if
you wanna switch colors.
-
So you could basically
just have the one pen body
-
and then have different refills
-
depending on what you wanted.
-
And then in terms of the
actual tip of the brush pen
-
this is super, extra fine,
extra small brush pen.
-
I've actually never seen
one this small before,
-
which I love because I love
doing small lettering, you know,
-
and especially if you're doing
stuff in your bullet journal
-
or your journal or stuff.
-
It makes it really, really easy
to write on a smaller scale.
-
I was just so surprised
when I tested it out
-
because the tip is just
so fine and minuscule.
-
You can get such thin strokes,
-
and it just makes things look
really elegant and beautiful.
-
The tip of this brush pen
definitely does not run
-
on the flexible side.
-
It's more on the firm side,
-
which allows you to have
those really thin strokes
-
and have a lot more control
in terms of the size.
-
But because of that, you
have to press a lot harder
-
for the thicker strokes,
which I don't mind.
-
I really liked doing that.
-
I find that it allows
me to have more control
-
when I'm varying the
thickness of my letters.
-
And at first I thought
it was a plastic tip
-
because of how pointy and
small and fine it was.
-
But now that I'm looking at it,
-
I think it's just a felt tip
-
that is just super tiny.
-
So, that's kind of cool.
-
This is definitely my favorite discovery
-
out of all of the pens that
I got during this haul.
-
I'm definitely gonna be looking
to see what other colors
-
in the collection they
have for the refills,
-
because I only have four colors here.
-
I have black, blue, mint
green, and then sepia.
-
Sepia, sepia? I don't know.
-
I don't know how it's pronounced.
-
Anyway, these definitely
have the AmandaRichLee
-
seal of approval.
-
You will be seeing me use a lot of these
-
in my bullet journal.
-
The last brush pen style
-
that I have to show you are these ones.
-
These are the Kuretake
Cambio Tambien Brush Pen
-
and they are really large
compared to the other ones,
-
especially the letter pen.
-
Like, look at the size of
the difference between these.
-
So these ones are really meant to mimic
-
that traditional Japanese
ink calligraphy style.
-
It actually does have a real brush tip
-
similar to the Clean Color Real Brush.
-
But the difference between these
-
is that the tip is
definitely a lot larger,
-
so you can really get that
large, fluid brush stroke
-
with these that looks really similar
-
to traditional Japanese
and Chinese calligraphy.
-
So, that is really cool.
-
And also the ink of these
-
is very similar to actual pigment ink.
-
Whereas these ones, I
feel like mimic that,
-
like, watercolor-y type of look.
-
That's the difference,
-
from what I can tell, based on those.
-
I have 12 different colors here,
-
and I'm actually just really excited
-
to experiment with these a lot more,
-
because they're definitely very different
-
from anything else that
I have in my collection.
-
Especially with my April "Plan with Me"
-
theme that I just did.
-
You guys know, I have
been really interested
-
in that traditional calligraphy style.
-
And something that I've been meaning to do
-
that's been on my bucket list recently
-
is to learn to write Chinese.
-
But I feel like these pens
are kind of perfect for that,
-
and especially if you're
trying to get that, like,
-
traditional brushstroke look.
-
So, yeah, those are the Kuretake
Cambio Tambien Brush Pens.
-
Those were all of the
brush pens that I got.
-
I know it's quite a
lot, but on the screen,
-
I'm gonna try to put a
comparison between all of them,
-
so you can kind of see the
exact different lettering style.
-
I'll also include the lettering comparison
-
for the Clean Color Dot,
ZIG Clean Color Dot,
-
which I showed you guys
in a previous haul.
-
But these ones have that same,
-
like, water-based pigment as
the Clean Color Real Brush.
-
Even though these aren't
brush pens or brush markers
-
I wanted to include
them in the comparison,
-
just so you guys can get a
good feel of the difference
-
in the brush size and the
tip size between all of them,
-
as well as what lettering
styles you can achieve
-
with each different style of pen.
-
Because even though some
of them look similar,
-
you can actually achieve
very different things
-
with each collection.
-
So hopefully that comparison
helps you guys out
-
if you were confused on the difference
-
between all of them or
which one you wanted to get.
-
Anyway, that was the huge
brush pen marker segment
-
of this haul.
-
Thank you again to Kuretake for sending me
-
all of these to test out for you guys,
-
but now, moving on to some
other stationary goodies
-
that I've gotten over
the past month or so.
-
So, first up I have
something kind of boring.
-
These are just some glue
tape refills from Tombow.
-
I go through these like nobody's business.
-
You guys always see me use them
in my bullet journal videos
-
whenever I'm attaching things
into my bullet journal.
-
So these are actually the
permanent adhesive refills.
-
So all you have to do is
pop them into the case
-
if you have it already,
-
and then you're good to go to switch out,
-
and all of that.
-
I know they have a removable version,
-
which I don't like as much.
-
So just definitely make sure
you get the permanent version
-
of these if you're interested
in adhesive tape rollers.
-
Okay, next I'm super excited about these.
-
This is the Sakura
special, 100 anniversary,
-
100, 100th anniversary, limited edition,
-
black barrel set of the pigma microns.
-
So you guys know, I love the
pigma micron fine liners.
-
I use them for all of my
bullet journal setups,
-
and whenever I'm doodling.
-
And these are just a special
edition set, I guess.
-
From what I can see, it's
pretty much the exact same
-
in terms of the formula.
-
I think also the sizes are the same?
-
Oh no, wait.
-
There's a size 10 and 12,
which I have not seen before.
-
I don't have a 10 or 12 pigma micron.
-
So, I'm curious as to how
those look when I test it out.
-
But the formula and everything
else is the exact same
-
as the regular pigma microns.
-
It's just that the outside is
black, and they look fancier,
-
which I love.
-
My bullet journal is a black cover.
-
So these kind of match perfectly,
-
and they'll make me
feel like a fancy human
-
while I write with them
-
because the tip, the metallic
tip is also gold, as well.
-
So, definitely very luxe.
-
Are they completely necessary?
-
Probably not because I do have the regular
-
Sakura pigma microns, and
they're the exact same,
-
but we all deserve to feel
a little fancy sometimes.
-
So, that's what I'm going with.
-
All right, next up we
have a couple of things
-
that I got from a really cute,
-
local Toronto stationary store.
-
I was walking around Koreatown
-
with a couple of friends the other day,
-
and we happened to pass by this store
-
and it looked super cute.
-
And then when we walked in,
-
I realized it was a stationary
store and it was game over.
-
They had so many cute, like stickers
-
and Washi tapes and stuff.
-
I'll leave the name of
the stationary store
-
on the screen in case any
of you guys are curious,
-
because I know that I have
a lot of Toronto viewers.
-
I'm really proud of myself
-
because I controlled how much I purchased,
-
but I probably could have
gone a lot crazier in there
-
if I was feeling extra spendy.
-
They had a lot of really
beautiful, handmade papers.
-
Like Japanese style paper.
-
So, I got a couple of sets of those.
-
The first one is this.
This is so beautiful.
-
I have never seen
something like this before.
-
It kind of looks like there's,
like hand pressed leaves,
-
kind of within the paper
pulp, which is really cool.
-
And it's just in this
regular 8 1/2 by 11 size.
-
I got some matching
envelopes to go with it.
-
So, this would be really cool,
-
especially if you're into pen palling
-
or something like that.
-
I think it looks so, so
stunning and beautiful.
-
I almost don't wanna use it.
-
And then I got another set.
-
This is really cute.
-
Also the handmade paper.
-
So it's like a slightly ivory tint,
-
but then you just see these tiny hearts
-
within the paper pulp.
-
And of course I got the matching envelopes
-
for these as well.
-
So I'll definitely only break
these out on special occasions
-
because they're just so
pretty, too pretty to use.
-
Next, I got some stickers
from there as well.
-
They had a really wide
variety of stickers in there.
-
This first one that I got, these are,
-
the brand is Daily Like,
-
but these ones are all
just little houseplants
-
that are in like, macrame
hanging pots and stuff.
-
So, these would look really cute
-
in planners or notebooks
or in your bullet journal.
-
I also got these,
-
which are really cute,
also from that same brand.
-
Oh, these are all from
the same Daily Like brand.
-
But this has a bunch of dogs
that are celebrating birthdays.
-
Oh, there's like balloons
and stuff too, and cakes.
-
And then I have another dog sticker set.
-
These ones have a slightly
holographic look to them,
-
and I'm just a sucker for any fluffy dog.
-
I might not have a dog,
but I have dog stickers.
-
And then finally, I have this set,
-
which is a bakery themed set.
-
So you have a lot of clear stickers,
-
and there's different breads
-
and people heading to
like, the bread store.
-
So, these ones are so, so cute.
-
I like how small they are.
-
And I like the clear background,
-
so you can put them on
pretty much anything.
-
And then finally from that same store,
-
I got two Washi tapes.
-
This one has some bears on it.
-
Bears have different hats and
glasses and faces on them.
-
And then this one has
little sailboats on it,
-
which I thought was
really cute and simple.
-
Anyway, shout out to
that stationary store.
-
I always get questions from people
-
from Toronto of like,
local stationery stores.
-
And that one is definitely
one of the best ones
-
that I've seen.
-
It's really unique.
-
And I will definitely
have to go back sometime.
-
Next up, we have something
that is a little bit extra,
-
but are we surprised at this point?
-
No. I got this a while back.
-
But I haven't talked about in a video yet,
-
and I'm just really excited to show people
-
so that someone can make me feel better
-
about this unnecessary purchase.
-
And it is a paper cutter.
-
It's a lot and very large.
-
I probably could have got
a smaller paper cutter
-
or one of those sliding ones, but,
-
I really, really liked
the guillotine ones.
-
We used to have it in my art class
-
when I was in an art
program in high school.
-
They had this massive
guillotine paper cutter,
-
and it was so heavy-duty.
-
You could cut through
so many sheets of paper,
-
and it was also extremely
satisfying to use.
-
I gave in and I got one for myself.
-
And I must admit, it actually
works really, really well.
-
I apparently, it's harder
to get an accurate cut
-
on the sliding type of paper cutters.
-
So, I guess that is a pro
of getting a guillotine one.
-
I always find any excuse
to use my paper cutter now,
-
because I just get so excited to use it.
-
And the sound is just a chef's kiss.
-
If you are into like,
satisfying ASMR noises,
-
paper cutting is the way to go.
-
(blade slicing)
-
Maybe in the future,
-
I'll upload a dedicated
stationary ASMR video,
-
where I just cut paper
with my paper cutter.
-
This is from the brand Fiskars,
in case anyone's curious,
-
and it has all measurements
and everything,
-
and it has a safety clasp as
well, just in case, you know,
-
you don't wanna accidentally
guillotine off your finger,
-
which can definitely be quite scary.
-
So please be careful if
you're gonna get one of these.
-
I do not want to be responsible
for any chopped off fingers.
-
So last couple of things in this haul.
-
I have the Zebra Sarasa Clip Gel pens,
-
and these are actually the metallic set.
-
I have used the Sarasa
Clip Gel pens quite a lot.
-
I have a lot of them from Japan, actually.
-
When I went to Japan,
-
I noticed that a lot of
the different stores,
-
and like, cartoon brands,
-
like Pokemon and Sanrio, they
all had their own collections,
-
like collaborations with
Zebra Sarasa Clip Gel pens,
-
which was really interesting to me.
-
So I do have a lot of those,
-
but I do not have the metallic ones.
-
There's nine colors in the set.
-
Do really like the metallic ink on these.
-
It shows up really well on dark paper
-
and looks really shimmery and nice.
-
So, I got these.
-
And then I also got
some Zebra Fountain pen
-
stainless steel nib.
-
So these ones come in a pack of seven.
-
You guys know I've been really
into fountain pens recently.
-
I use them a lot when I'm writing my tasks
-
in my bullet journal,
-
or when I'm writing in my regular diary.
-
But, sometimes fountain pens
are a little bit of a hassle.
-
You know, if you run out of ink
-
you have to break out the
bottle and do all of that,
-
and it gets kinda messy.
-
So these are meant to be,
like an easier fountain pen.
-
At least that's what
it says on the package.
-
And you don't have to deal
with the whole, you know,
-
ink bottle and everything.
-
So, I have those.
-
There are seven different colors of these,
-
which is cool because, you know,
-
if you were to use a fountain pen,
-
you'd have to get seven
different ink bottles,
-
but they just come in a
nice little set like this.
-
All right, guys.
-
So I think that's it for today's haul.
-
I'm pretty sure I got through everything.
-
There's a lot of stationary sprawled out
-
on the floor in front of me,
-
so I can't tell if I missed something,
-
but anyway, I hope you
enjoyed this chill haul,
-
seeing some of the new stationary
items that I have added
-
to my excessively large
collection recently.
-
I know I usually do full swatches
-
whenever I show you guys pens
and markers in these hauls,
-
but just because there
were so many brush pens
-
and markers and stuff in this haul,
-
I did not have time to swatch all of them,
-
but let me know if there's
a specific marker collection
-
or pen collection that you
guys were really interested in.
-
Maybe I can do on my Instagram
stories or something.
-
Show you guys all of the colors.
-
Just let me know in the comments.
-
I can definitely do that.
-
Anyway, I'm gonna go clean up
this whole floor situation.
-
Thank you for joining me
-
in yet another edition
-
of Amanda being a stationary hoarder.
-
I hope you guys have a great day
-
and I will see you in the next one.
-
Keep doodling. Bye guys.
