for me to be in real snow like that.

but I'm sure she was cold.

jumping in the snow.

And I'm from Colorado,
so I've seen it snow like that.

Ayyy, he jumps on in the snow from inside.

- I'm freezing-- just watching that.

- Whenever I see
something like that though,

I always get leery, like,
you don't know what's under there.

- Uh-oh. A back dive.

- Oh my goodness.

you were entertained by these?

- Yes!

by it because it's funny.

- For a little while.

I know I've jumped into cold water,

like up in the mountains.

I've had it where it's so cold
that actually my kidneys hurt.

anything like this before today?

- Never.

- No, I hadn't.

- Jumping into snow? No.

- No. Never any snow.

And I've seen the jumping
into freezing water.

- (Finebros) Why do you think these people
would want to subject

themselves to jumping into snow
with almost no clothes on

for these videos?
- 'Cause it's fun.

'Cause they can.

- The adrenaline.

And the challenge too.

- They do it for fun.

I think they do it 'cause it is a challenge.

- A quick little thirty seconds of fame,

just to do something
that's challenging, exhilarating.

- People in general always have
challenged each other

to do some strange things.

What did we used to do?

How long can you hold your breath?

How long can you look
at the other person without blinking?

something crazy like this

when you were younger?
- I don't believe I did.

- I was not that adventurous
when I was a kid,

but I'm more adventurous later.

- I wouldn't say so. No.

We did have big snows in New York.

Of course, you'd jump in,

but I had snowsuits and stuff on.

I wasn't jumping off a porch.

- When I was a kid,
I used to jump off the house.

I have always had a fear of heights,

but I thought if I kinda
challenged myself, I'll get over it.

if social media existed

when you were younger
that you or others would have

filmed themselves and posted it online?
- Probably would.

If you got the opportunity to do it, sure.

- I think so.

We like to share our experience.

but would you say that jumping
into the snow like this

is something new, or were people
doing things like this in the past?

- Well, kids always made snow angels,

but they were in their snowsuits.

- No, I'm pretty sure
they did it in the past.

They do some pretty
outrageous stuff on skis.

- Doing it in the past? Probably.

Especially young men.

I don't mean to be sexist,
-
but young men used to challenge each other
-
to do all kinds of crazy things.

- I bet people were doing it
and we just didn't know about it
-
because it wasn't being broadcast.

- (Finebros) So why do you think
something from the past
-
has reemerged with social media,
-
and then people act like it's new
when, really, it's not that new.

- I don't know. That's a good question.

- It wasn't readily available

because of the technology that we have
-
to be able to videotape stuff like that.
