at the supreme summit

at the supreme summit, dribbles gather into small creeks.

in the womb of the clouds,

in the womb of the clouds, dew drops open their innocent eyes.

Mountains and clouds although silent are telling a permanent truth:

water finds its ultimate home in the boundless ocean.

bidding farewell to green valleys

and bumping through the japped rocks,
despite twists and turns,

determinedly small creeks throw themselves
into the mother ocean.

departing from the high heavens
where faires take their abodes,

dew drops crashed themselves onto the earth.

to traverse thousands of miles
and cross the dusty maddening world.

in the death of the valley.
water overcome hurdles and hardships;

under rotten leaves, water remains true to its lucidity

the unfathomable mountains witness the courage
with which water dash itself off from high above;

the multitude of stars shine upon the long trek over
ther mountains and hills.

all rivers flow to the sea,
nourishing the world along the way.

ocean is the beginning.

as well as the end of water.

nourishing the world and cultivating the heart

I was really impressed the first time I saw Mr. Li Hongzhi.

Qigong masters I had previously met were generally old.

But my first impression of Mr. Li was that he was very tall,
handsome, and young with a benign countenance.

The first time I read this book, I thought it was extraordinary.

It revealed truth and wisdom other cultivation books
had never done throughout the ages.

I have practiced this extraordinary cultivation method for 20 years.

When I read this book, I can feel myself improving every day.

20 years is a long time.

A person can graduate from several universities and obtain multiple Ph D s.

However I feel that I ve obtained more than
I ever could have from any university or Ph.D.

At the time we had a Fa-study group at my house.

I would listen as everyone read the book out loud.

I was able to read Zhuan Falun in its entirety by the age of 4.

I learned Chinese characters from Zhuan Falun.

Every morning, my mother and father would
take me to the park to do the exercises.

It was very cold at 5AM in the Northeast

I wore so many layens that I looked like a little steamed bun

Afterwards my parents would hold my hands and
we would walk throu h the farmers market

where vendors were selling breakfast and hawking their goods

I remember how bright the sun was as I walked
and held my parents’ hands

Looking back, That was the happiest time in my life.

My life’has always been smooth sailing.

My health Was also very good,
so it wasn’t for the sake of healing illnesses. .

I was searching for a kind of wisdom, a.higher truth.

Yingnian Wu received his doctor’s degree in Statistics from Harvard in 1996.

Four years later, At the age of 30,
he was tenured at the department of statistics at UCLA.

Falun Gong teaches you to cultivate your heart.

On the most basic level, that means learning to be a good person.

Practicing Falun Gong will give you a moral compass.

When you meet with certain situations, you’ll know how to react, how to cope.

For example, if someone mistreated me or
yelled at me in the past, I would try to explain.

Even if I managed to forbear, I would still feel wronged.

However, now, I feel comfortable.

Why? Do I like to be yelled at? It’s not that.

Instead, it is that as a cultivator, if I can remain calm
in such a situation, I know that I’ve improved and elevated myself.

However, when we first started cultivating, there were
a lot of conflicts between us, some of them quite serious.

As practitioners, we have to look inside.

So I thought, where was I in the wrong?

As a result, our problems became smaller and smaller and
the way we dealt with issues became more and more peaceful.

You can do anything; have a normal family, a job,
get all sorts of information That’s all fine ^

But you do have to follow the principles
in Zhuan Falun yet no one will force you.

Master’s mind is vast, and there is also strong moral appeal.

I heard that in Beijing a person named Li Hongzhi
was teaching others how to be good people.

Over 100 million people followed his teachings.

I was shocked. It was like a fairy tale.

In China at the time, if I heard that someone in Beijing was teaching people
how to cheat and steal and 100 million people wanted to learn, I would believe it.

But 100 million people learning how to be good people?
Unbelievable. These can’t be Chinese people.

Shizhong Chen,one of the 21 undergraduate students enrolled in the First Special
Class for the Gifted Young at the University of Science and Technology of China

His story was written in the textbook as a role model for young people.

Since he skipped high school altogether, he was not even 20 years old
when he was admitted into UC San Diego in his junior year at USTC,

via the CUSBEA (China-United States Biochemistry
Examination and Administration) program.

Shizhong Chen was the vice president of Independent Federation of
Chinese Students and Scholars (IFCSS) during the 1989 democratic movement

in China and became a dissident to Chinese Communist Party’s rule.

He changed his view about the future of China later
when he encountered Falun Gong.

In my mind, the idea god will return belongs to the western tradition.

I had never heard god would show up in China.

But I started thinking about it, and suddenly, I became enlightened.

I felt that finally, there was hope for China.
If god wanted to save humanity, where would he start?

He would start from the worst place, the most dangerous place.

In my opinion, the place with the lowest moral standard
and worst environment was China.

At that moment, I suddenly felt that god has really come down
to Earth and there was hope for humankind.^

I was humbled to my core and felt at peace in the light of god.

I used to compose music completely by following my feeling

After I completed a piece, I would hope people say it’s good.

I didn’t have a clear idea of why I do music or what my music will bring to others.

I focused entirely on myself.

the prestigious Music Department of University of Huddersfield in England.

He is engaged in a variety of areas including music
composing, TV and Radio show hosting

The biggest change cultivation has brought to me was
Master teaches us to always think of others.

Whenever you do something, think of how it will affect others,
will it harm them'? Not his original words of course.

This has had a great impact on me.

As a musician, or really, in any field, we should follow atsimilar principle.

In whatever you do, put others first.

As a cultivator, I treat my music rationally.

I focus on the overall effect instead of overly expressing myself

Instead of exerting my personality, I focus onletting the music transmit positivity.

I tried to make my music express feelings but rest iained and with moderation.

Music created this way will be soothing to the ears. It will not be exhausting.

The ancients say impart sorrow without pain.
Nowadays, I feel a lot of music is painful

The wisdom contained in Falun Dafa allow you to improve quickly in your
profession within a short period of time without having to struggle in vain.

The principles Master talks about are not just theory.

Instead, when you try it out in practice,
you will realize that it contains profound wisdom.

However first you have to improve your character or change your way of thinking.

My voice teacher has a lot of experience,

but after studying with him for two or three years, I felt that
he wasn’t able to impart to me the key to openingimy voice.

My Master talked about a principle: reinforce and counteract each other.

One day, I thought, I need to sing high notes. How can I sing high notes?

I thought, why do I have trouble singing high notes?
I always stretch to reach the note and my body floats up with it.

I realized that I should change my approach. If I want to sing high notes,
I need to think about it in an opposite way.

I can’t think that this note is higher than me,
I have to think that this note is below me.

Suddenly, it seemed easier.

For those who have just read Falun Dafa books, or have only seen
Mr. Li Hongzhi from a distance at conferences, Master is kind and majestic.

However, those who met Mr. Li in more casual
occasions feels very differently about him.

I feel he is humble. A person like him who has so many disciples around the
world should be proud, but he looks just like an ordinary person if you meet him.

I think this is what profound wisdom might be like

When Master points out your problems, he won’t just use a way of. ..

A lot of people nowadays will yell at you and
only consider things from their point of views.

They will be very strict and you will feel pressured.

However, Master is always compassionate.
I love to see Master’s smile; it’s so kind.

He will use simple language to explain profound truth. He’s also very patient.

One time, I was talking to Master about buying a car.

I said, European cars are sturdy.
If you had a crash you would be well protected.

Master said, but you have to think of others
What will happen to them?

Master tells us to have great wisdom and yet pay attention to details.

Therefore, in any situation, such as when everyone is
rushing to take something, he will walk away.

He won’t fight with others for self interest.
He s like that even for small things

At the time, I was still in elementary school.
The teachers would often make us watch brainwashing videos.

those videos vilified Master and Dafa.

I was both shocked and upset.

This was my belief all throughout my life.

I had always followed Master’s teachings.

Master teaches us to be truthful, compassionate and tolerant, and to be
a good and kind person; someone who always thinks of others first.

They ran the national propaganda machine to slander Falun Gong.

Normally, people wouldn’t be able to bear it. In fact, no one could bear it.

However, from what we could see,
Master wasn’t bothered at all, like nothing happened.

He continued to do what he was supposed to do
and he was peaceful and compassionate as usual.

Master merely told everyone.
We need touted people not to be deceived by the slander.

We need to tell them that Truthfulness Compassion and Tolerance is good.

And encourage them to be morally better people.

Later on, some of my friends said to me.
Why are you always doing things the Communist Party forbids?

I replied that it was not really the case.

Not only was it not like that, but also I have to say that it was Falun Gong
that helped me put down my hatred towards the Communist Party

During June 4th, 1989, tanks were deployed to Tian-An-Men Square.

I witnessed the horrific scenes I made a vow. I will never
have anything to do with such a bloody regime and its officials.

However, our Master Li Hongzhi, told us.
all these people were deceived by lies.

We need to expose the lies and spread the truth.

I then let go of my hatred toward the Communist Party

At that time, there were a lot of business investment groups around.

The Communist Party sent out many such groups to America. *

I made contact with them.

Later on I went to the United Nations to expose atrocities
committed by the CCP against Falun Gong practitioners,

I also came across some delegations sent by the Chinese Communist Party

Obviously they were attacking Falun Gong at the forums.

Of course I was exposing the atrocities at the forums.

Therefore when I bumped into them, I still tried to talk to*them.

I completely let go of my hatred and still invited them
for coffee although they were very hostile to me.

In fact, they were very afraid of me.

Over nearly 20 years, Falun Gong practitioners have been
following the principles of Truthfulness, compassion and*tolerance.

They consistently put to use what have learned
from Falun Dafa into their work and daily lives

Part of my job is teaching

I give lectures to graduate students as well as under-graduate students.

Some of the students have a lesser ability of understanding.

After more than one hour of lecturing, they still might not get it.

Even though they have taken notes, sometimes they would come to
my office and go through the notes with me from all over again.

The amount of time I spent on explaining was close to what I spent on lectures.

What would you do then?

In the book Zhuan Falun, it said very clearly that you need to follow
i luthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. You need to have patience.

Sometimes you can be very busy and have other obligations,
for example research and the like

So It is really a good opportunity to cultivate your heart.

Therefore cultivation isn’t just about staying at a temple
where you might not even have this opportunity to cultivate.

You will experience things in daily life and you need to cultivate yourself.

Since I came to the United States, I have been living all by myself.

I take care of everything on my own.

I even managed to move by myself.

Last time I went to Ikea to buy a bed,
and it came with many wood parts that I had to assemble

I put together all the wood parts piece by piece,
and it didn t feel too hard to bear

Master said before in a poem: “working the body, tempering the will."

Last month, I learned that both my parents and my aunt were taken to prison.

No explanation was offered whatsoever,
they were just kidnapped by the police from the street.

And I haven’t heard anything from them since.

The day before this incident, my dad sent me a text message.

I asked him: how can I become a more sedate person?

He replied, once you had the inner strength that can be
shaken by nothing, then you become such a person

He said: you have Master and the Fa, you’ll certainly be fine.

For example, when I treat a patient, in order to save or help him,
I may be subject to injustice or even legal accountability.

However, when I remember I need to be good to people,
I don t let other things bother me

I have saved a few people’slives, including two pastors.
They said to me themselves that I saved their lives.

But if I considered my own interests or personal gains
or losses at that time, I wouldn’t be able to do that

But I put their interest before mine.

I’m a doctor as well as a martial arts teacher,
so I want to help improve the ethics in both areas.

This is what I have enli htened to from cultivatin

Only when people from all walks of lives improve their morals,
will we have a better life

Because in Falun Gong we talk about purifying our minds
and let go of bad thoughts and attachments,

so when our inner selves become purer and purer,
the music we produce will also bring pure and positive energy to people.

So I believe such music will bring good energy to others,
and such goodness and kindness will benefit the society as a whole

So I think this highlights my responsibili as a musician,
which is to purify myself constantly andslbring positive music to others.

The new year's greeting is part of the traditional Chinese culture and etiquette.

In the past, Chinese people exercised this ritual
with parents teachers and especially Masters

For us Falun Data disciples, as we don't see our Master often,
and He never takes any money or gift from us.

By wishing Master a Happy Chinese New Year,
we would like to express our gratitude toward him.

We are grateful for being taught such a wonderful Dafa by our Master.

We thank Master for saving us. Happy Chinese New Year Master!

We will also try our best to be diligent and do well in our cultivation.

We will let more people know the truth of Falun Gong
and not to disappoint Master.

In the past 20 years I felt very fortunate that I came across
Falun Dafa and practiced the cultivation.

I learned the true meaning of life from Master Li Hongzhi.

Therefore, I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude
to Master Li Hongzhi Happy Chinese New Year Master!

I know here are many things I need to do better with,
and I’ll try my best to walk my path well in the future

Thank you Master for spreading the principles of “Truthfulness,
Compassion and Tolerance”, from which we benefited so much.

Here I want to tell Master that I will continue to spread the truth
of Dafa and let more people benefit from it. Thank you Master!
