20 peaks may just be the most
influential television show ball time

with inspiring decade's worth a video
games movies and other television shows

so today I wanted to share brief history
on what I believed to be one of the

greatest television shows

ever created in 1977 and then a movie
director by the name of David Lynch

complete his first feature length film a

girl Laura Palmer being found dead

without a clue who the murderer was

this these FBI agent dale cooper being
sent to the small Washington State town

help local authorities uncover the
mystery a Palmer step

for the premise may seem simple enough
David Lynch in mark frost set up the

show to seem like a basic oxy result
paper

even know that's only scratching the
surface of what lies in store

the talent when peace is filled with odd
and sometimes real characters that much

of the investigation will focus on

we have aged Dale Cooper played by Kyle
MacLachlan we'll come to realize really

but as the show goes on we'll find out
that everyone in this community has

their secrets

Twin Peaks is a very similar feel as
much a day villages for work

it's odd surreal and oftentimes big in
the way gives the audience information

style is that many of the characters

acting very strange ways

and see things that would never work in
any other show for instance there's a

lady in the town that goes around
talking to a piece of wood all day

weirdness we can now forget to mention

it's absolutely bizarre get some help

he's probably the most memorable segment
on the show that allow the viewer to

piece together some the town's mysteries
through almost nonsensical dialogue

the creator of The Sopranos David Chase
sites to impeach is an inspiration for

his dream scenes

even he admits he was never able to
match them I mean that's saying

something when even the Sopranos can
region other shows quality

what are my personal favorite aspects to
the show's soundtrack

still considered one of the best in
television the sure really goes for

moody Jess type sound

almost matching what you hear in an old
war movie mix with almost all cheesy

soap opera music

I feel it really adds to the intrigue
and let the audience know that their

mysteries yet to be uncovered

when Twin Peaks went on the air in 1990
it became an instant hit with an

audience looking for something new and
different to watch

this was a time before people start
taking risks with original programming

and everything else on the network or
basic procedural they're wrapped up the

murder by the end of the episode

between pete was different it was
created by critically acclaimed

filmmaker

had a story and characters that stretch
throughout the show and most importantly

it wasn't afraid to push the limits of
what the TV viewer was willing to watch

well Twin Peaks start out strong it seem
that its greatest strength was also its

biggest weakness

episode you'd be left in the dark

this is only worse for 20 peak since
even when watching all the episodes in

order the viewer was left wondering what
was going on

aside effectively just I'll so at the
end of season 2 20 X was officially

canceled

the final nail in the coffin was a
prequel film fire walk with me

which focuses around the murder of
Teresa banks in the last seven days have

laura palmer's life

the film was panned by both critics and
many fans to the show

with a major problem being the lack of
agent Cooper the movie did so poorly at

the box office that didn't even make up

which probably shouldn't have been a
surprise for a movie based on a show

that was canceled because not enough
people were watching

while the show might have ended that
didn't mean it wasn't fresh in the minds

of countless people that were inspired
by it

and video games the past two decades

being influenced by twenty peaks

but to me it seems far too coincidental
since a link to the past was being

developed when twin peaks was on the air

the video game Deadly Premonition
release in 2010 also took inspiration

from the show

their travels to a small town to

investigate the murder of a teenage girl

not only this but he also really
injuries copy and had strange dreams

there's also a lady who cares around the

other plot points in locations that

was even more similar

developers had to go back in revamp the

story to make it slightly more original

other TV shows in both small and very

big ways

first of all there were tons of examples

including the two main characters being
twins taking place in a small town in

occurring

and just look at some of those
backgrounds they weren't even trying to

be subtle

I also can forget about the killing
which first two seasons fall the allies

have two detectives as they try to
discover who murdered a girl named Rosie

with the writers admitting that it was

while watching I couldn't help but
compare them both shows involve finding

the murder of a teenage girl

and video games to take influence from

Twin Peaks

but we be here all day it's amazing how
such a short live show that was canceled

furloughed viewership over twenty years
ago

has become one of the most influential
television programs of all time

even though so much time has passed
since it went off the air in 1991 fans

have always held onto the hope that
there may be one more trick up the

villages sleep

and then out of nowhere it was announced
that a new season of the beloved show is

being made

the team the stories of all the citizens
