10 Reasons why Michael Jackson's Life and Death Matter
-
0:12 - 0:17[Music] You might think you have much more time.
-
0:17 - 0:24But oh, the truth is that there is no hope in time.
-
0:24 - 0:29Jesus is our only hope in dying. (P)
-
0:29 - 0:33[Craig] In a couple of days Michael Jackson will be buried.
-
0:33 - 0:36He will join the likes of these.
-
0:36 - 0:41He's captivated the world because he was such a unique individual,
-
0:41 - 0:44really larger-than-life it seem.
-
0:44 - 0:48And yet now, he's really no different than
these I passed by in the cemetery. -
0:48 - 0:53That's a sobering thought.
-
0:53 - 0:59There is a line I remember in his
great musical hit, the music video, Thriller. -
0:59 - 1:02I remember that video, the demon-filled zombies
coming out of the grave, -
1:02 - 1:07Vincent Price's spooky voice narrating.
-
1:07 - 1:09There's a line in there that he sings, Michael Jackson,
-
1:09 - 1:14and it's really quite chilling when you consider how his life unfolded.
-
1:14 - 1:16It said, "They're out to get you.
-
1:16 - 1:20There's demons closing in on every side."
-
1:20 - 1:25It almost seemed to be prophetic, because as his life would unfold,
-
1:25 - 1:27demons would be closing in on every side,
-
1:27 - 1:31so much so that he was never able to rid himself of them.
-
1:31 - 1:33And they finally took him down. (P)
-
1:33 - 1:36In the wake of his death, there's a lot being said about Michael Jackson.
-
1:36 - 1:39But what's true?
-
1:39 - 1:44A lot of emotions being expressed, but what's true?
-
1:44 - 1:48The tendency is, when people die, they turn to their emotions
-
1:48 - 1:50and their affections for an individual,
-
1:50 - 1:52and truth gets obscured.
-
1:52 - 1:55Objective truth gets lost in the midst of it.
-
1:55 - 1:58And people tend to believe what they want to believe.
-
1:58 - 2:01But what's true about Michael Jackson? Where is he now?
-
2:01 - 2:04We read these tombstones here: "Asleep in Jesus",
-
2:04 - 2:07"Sweet Jesus," "Resting in Jesus."
-
2:07 - 2:10How many really are resting in Jesus?
-
2:10 - 2:12We can't trust our emotions.
-
2:12 - 2:18Our emotions go up and down, they come and go.
So we can't trust them. -
2:18 - 2:20They won't take us to what's true, they won't lead us to truth;
-
2:20 - 2:24and they certainly won't change what's true. (P)
-
2:24 - 2:28Yet unfortunately people dwell upon thoughts of their lost loved ones
-
2:28 - 2:31and they'll rehash their memories.
-
2:31 - 2:35What so often happens is they're led to embrace falsehood -
-
2:35 - 2:37things that aren't true.
-
2:37 - 2:39I mean, things are said even in funerals that aren't true.
-
2:39 - 2:43How many funerals have you been to, where a preacher says,
-
2:43 - 2:47"Well I'm sorry, we have no confidence that Mr. so-and-so
-
2:47 - 2:50(or Mrs. so-and-so) is with the Lord
-
2:50 - 2:56because the life they lived was completely contrary
to the life of a true Christian"? -
2:56 - 2:59You've never heard that. I've never heard that. Why?
-
2:59 - 3:02Because everybody somehow ends up in heaven in a funeral -
-
3:02 - 3:04even the worst of sinners.
-
3:04 - 3:08People want to think the best.
-
3:08 - 3:12But what's true? That's all that really matters.
-
3:12 - 3:15Not what you and I think,
-
3:15 - 3:19not what the person in the grave thought,
-
3:19 - 3:21but what's really true? Where are they at?
-
3:21 - 3:24How do we establish that? Is that left to men and women?
-
3:24 - 3:28Are they the determining factor of what happens beyond the grave?
-
3:28 - 3:32Or is there a Creator? What does His Word say?
-
3:32 - 3:35Our word means nothing. We need to consult God.
-
3:35 - 3:36God has left us His Word.
-
3:36 - 3:40This is the revelation of what's true concerning life and death;
-
3:40 - 3:42concerning what lies beyond the grave. (P)
-
3:42 - 3:49In the passing of Michael Jackson,
some very important realities have come to us. -
3:49 - 3:56God has taught us and confirmed to us
some very important spiritual truths. -
3:56 - 3:59I have ten reasons why Michael Jackson's life and death matter. (P)
-
3:59 - 4:04The first one is, it teaches us the dangerous power of idolatry.
-
4:04 - 4:09In 1 John 5:21 we're told, "Keep yourselves from idols."
-
4:09 - 4:12We're told so because idolatry is sin and it's very destructive.
-
4:12 - 4:15It's often associated with demonic power.
-
4:15 - 4:19In Colossians 3:5, it says, "Put to death therefore what is earthly in you:
-
4:19 - 4:24sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire,
-
4:24 - 4:27and covetousness, which is idolatry."
-
4:27 - 4:30Idolatry is any thing we put in the place of God.
-
4:30 - 4:37Any thing that has elevated our heart with affection
over and above Jesus Christ, that's idolatry. -
4:37 - 4:41Michael Jackson's life was all about idolatry.
-
4:41 - 4:43He worshiped music. He worshiped dance.
-
4:43 - 4:45He worshiped himself and his own image;
-
4:45 - 4:49and there's nothing to be found of Jesus Christ in his life. (P)
-
4:49 - 4:53Jesus said, "A tree is known by its fruit."
-
4:53 - 4:56How do I know an apple tree is really an apple tree?
-
4:56 - 4:58Maybe it's something else. How do I know?
-
4:58 - 5:00Well, the fruit is its evidence.
-
5:00 - 5:03How do I know an orange tree really is an orange tree?
-
5:03 - 5:05Because it bears oranges.
-
5:05 - 5:08The same is true in the spiritual realm.
-
5:08 - 5:09Those who have spiritual life,
-
5:09 - 5:12those who really have a relationship to Jesus Christ,
-
5:12 - 5:15they bear that fruit. They bear the fruit of that relationship.
-
5:15 - 5:19And those who don't, likewise, bear fruit that they're not connected to Jesus Christ.
-
5:19 - 5:21He's really not their Savior.
-
5:21 - 5:25They're really not saved by His grace.
They really don't know God. (P) -
5:25 - 5:30Jesus said, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
-
5:30 - 5:33Where's your heart? What has a hold of it?
-
5:33 - 5:35What holds sway over you?
-
5:35 - 5:39Is it Jesus Christ? Or is something else pulling you away from God?
-
5:39 - 5:44That's what idols do - they bring men to destruction. (P)
-
5:44 - 5:48The second reason why Michael Jackson's life and death matter is,
-
5:48 - 5:54it highlights the reality of 1 Peter 1: 24-25 that All flesh is like grass
-
5:54 - 5:57and All its glory like the flower of grass.
-
5:57 - 6:03The grass withers and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord stands forever. -
6:03 - 6:06Man at his best is a dying flower.
-
6:06 - 6:11At his absolute best, he's fading, he's dying, he's destined to die.
-
6:11 - 6:16That truth alone shows the insanity of one living for his own glory
-
6:16 - 6:18and not the glory of Jesus Christ.
-
6:18 - 6:21The world paints Hollywood as the ultimate achievement,
-
6:21 - 6:24the pinnacle of great success and fame,
-
6:24 - 6:26the best that the world has to offer.
-
6:26 - 6:29And yet, look at Hollywood's Tabloids, look at their obituaries.
-
6:29 - 6:36Look at the end of those who Hollywood holds out to be the darlings of America.
-
6:36 - 6:41Nearly every one of them are cheaters, liars, adulterers, fornicators.
-
6:41 - 6:45They commit adultery. They lie about everything that they do.
-
6:45 - 6:47They're strung-out on drugs.
-
6:47 - 6:50They're full of makeup and plastic surgery,
-
6:50 - 6:53just like Michael Jackson was.
-
6:53 - 6:58But behind the makeup is an empty, lonely, miserable life.
-
6:58 - 7:01And they spend that life trying to fill the void that's there -
-
7:01 - 7:04a void that's there because Christ isn't there. (P)
-
7:04 - 7:07The world is broken, and it's full of broken people.
-
7:07 - 7:09And I don't care how much makeup you put on them,
-
7:09 - 7:12and how much plastic you throw on them,
-
7:12 - 7:14and all that self-enhancement that you attempt to do,
-
7:14 - 7:18you cannot fill the void.
-
7:18 - 7:22Because behind it all is just a decaying,
rotting structure with just a fresh coat of paint. -
7:22 - 7:27Nothing in this world can satisfy the void that's there because of sin. (P)
-
7:27 - 7:31Michael Jackson and all his glory;
it was great when he was here, wasn't it? -
7:31 - 7:34It's all faded away. It's all nothing now, nothing.
-
7:34 - 7:37It won't stand before the judgment of God.
-
7:37 - 7:43Now the king of pop is face-to-face with the King of glory.
-
7:43 - 7:44And let me tell you something:
-
7:44 - 7:51There's only one King who glories beyond this life - it's Jesus Christ. (P)
-
7:51 - 7:53The third reason why Michael Jackson's life and death matters is,
-
7:53 - 7:58it teaches us that enormous wealth is poisonous to flesh.
-
7:58 - 8:051 Timothy 6: 9-10 says, "Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation,
-
8:05 - 8:08into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires
-
8:08 - 8:13that plunge people into ruin and destruction."
-
8:13 - 8:16Money is often a major snare, why?
-
8:16 - 8:20Because money is equal to power, and power is what men really thirst for.
-
8:20 - 8:22They want to be on top. They want to be the top dog.
-
8:22 - 8:24They want to be God. They want to be king.
-
8:24 - 8:29Michael, he regarded himself as king and he lived as one.
-
8:29 - 8:31And you know what, Michael Jackson had his reward.
-
8:31 - 8:33He's no longer king now.
-
8:33 - 8:36He's gone from king to a prisoner of darkness.
-
8:36 - 8:42Just like that. In a moment. He wasn't expecting it.
-
8:42 - 8:45Now he's singing a different tune. (P)
-
8:45 - 8:48Jesus said, "You can't have two masters.
-
8:48 - 8:52You can't serve God and money."
-
8:52 - 8:54You know why? because you're gonna love one and despise the other.
-
8:54 - 8:58You're gonna be faithful, you're gonna hold to one;
-
8:58 - 8:59and you're not gonna be faithful to the other.
-
8:59 - 9:01You can't love both.
-
9:01 - 9:03And here's the poison behind money:
-
9:03 - 9:06Those whose heart is set upon it, they can never get enough.
-
9:06 - 9:08They can never have enough. It's more and more.
-
9:08 - 9:12It doesn't matter if you're making minimum wage
bagging groceries, or you're a multi-millionaire. -
9:12 - 9:14If your heart is set on money, all you want is more and more.
-
9:14 - 9:17It's never satisfying to you.
-
9:17 - 9:23The fact Michael Jackson died 400 million dollars in debt
-
9:23 - 9:25is an evidence what he was a slave to.
-
9:25 - 9:29He was a slave to money. That's what he worshiped.
-
9:29 - 9:34He fulfilled the words of 1 Timothy 6:10.
-
9:34 - 9:39His love for money produced many senseless and harmful desires.
-
9:39 - 9:42Those desires ended up destroying him.
-
9:42 - 9:45So the very Word of God tells us. (P)
-
9:45 - 9:48How much does money have a hold on you?
-
9:48 - 9:49Be honest with yourself.
-
9:49 - 9:53Do you think more about money or about God?
-
9:53 - 9:57Really, just be honest. Which do you think of more?
-
9:57 - 10:01That is a great indicator of whose slave you are. (P)
-
10:01 - 10:04The fourth reason why Michael Jackson's life and death matter is,
-
10:04 - 10:10it confirms the biblical truth that fallen man is given to self-destruction.
-
10:10 - 10:14In Romans 3 we have a description;
God gives a description of the sinner there. -
10:14 - 10:21And in Rom. 3:16, He says destruction and misery are in their ways.
-
10:21 - 10:25In the Proverbs we read, "There's a way that seems right to a man,"
-
10:25 - 10:30he's convinced it's right, "but the end of it is death."
-
10:30 - 10:31It's a way that leads to death.
-
10:31 - 10:33He doesn't start out thinking at least to death,
-
10:33 - 10:36but when he gets there and it's too late, it is death.
-
10:36 - 10:39That's a picture of mankind in his lost state.
-
10:39 - 10:45And do not those scriptures just scream out about Michael Jackson's life?
-
10:45 - 10:47There was this normal boy.
-
10:47 - 10:49He had many talents, very likable.
-
10:49 - 10:52He was a great performer; he was.
-
10:52 - 10:55He was good at what he did.
He seemed to have a level head about him. -
10:55 - 10:58But as time brought fame, and fame brought fortune,
-
10:58 - 11:02his life began to get stranger, and more twisted,
-
11:02 - 11:06and more wicked, as his life progressed.
-
11:06 - 11:09And in the end, his legacy is mainly marred
-
11:09 - 11:13mostly by what he did offstage than what he did onstage.
-
11:13 - 11:14That's what sin does.
-
11:14 - 11:18Here was a man desperate for satisfaction and looking for it in himself.
-
11:18 - 11:19And that's an endless road.
-
11:19 - 11:24It'll lead everybody to misery - looking for satisfaction in yourself.
-
11:24 - 11:26Sin is a great destroyer.
-
11:26 - 11:30It ruins man, just as it did Michael Jackson. (P)
-
11:30 - 11:38In Matthew 7: 13-14 we're told, "Wide is the gate
and broad is the way that leads to destruction." -
11:38 - 11:43And the Bible says, "Many there be that go in that way."
-
11:43 - 11:48And yet, "Narrow is the gate and hard
(or difficult) is the way that leads to life," -
11:48 - 11:52and the Bible says, "Few there be that find it."
-
11:52 - 11:56There's going to be more people on that wide
broad road that leads to destruction. -
11:56 - 11:58They don't think it does but it does.
-
11:58 - 12:01And very few, the Bible tells us, Jesus tells us in His own words,
-
12:01 - 12:08"Very few will find that narrow gate that leads to life." (P)
-
12:08 - 12:11The fifth reason why Michael Jackson's life and death matter is,
-
12:11 - 12:14it was an example of a WASTED LIFE.
-
12:14 - 12:18"What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world," Jesus said,
-
12:18 - 12:19"and lose his own soul?
-
12:19 - 12:23Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"
-
12:23 - 12:29What is a person willing to trade their eternal never-dying soul for?
-
12:29 - 12:33Many people, just foolish things. Things that don't last.
-
12:33 - 12:36Things they can't take to eternity with them.
-
12:36 - 12:40We all have 24 hours a day, as many days God gives us.
-
12:40 - 12:42What are we doing with them?
-
12:42 - 12:44What's our soul invested in?
-
12:44 - 12:47What are we doing with the time, and the talent,
-
12:47 - 12:50and the treasures, that God has given unto us?
-
12:50 - 12:53We're stewards, we're responsible, we're accountable to God.
-
12:53 - 12:571 Timothy 6:7 says, "For we brought nothing into this world,
-
12:57 - 13:01and it is certain we can carry nothing out." (P)
-
13:01 - 13:05For Michael Jackson, he's been stripped of it all.
-
13:05 - 13:09It's all gone - every one of his accomplishments, all that he did.
-
13:09 - 13:14Neverland, ironically, never gave him what he wanted. It didn't.
-
13:14 - 13:17All his platinum records, all his money,
-
13:17 - 13:19all his mansions and accomplishments,
-
13:19 - 13:21they're left to rust and corrupt.
-
13:21 - 13:25They're still here, he's not. He's gone.
-
13:25 - 13:30There's nothing in this world that does him any good in the spirit world,
-
13:30 - 13:35the world now where he's accountable to God and he faces his judgment.
-
13:35 - 13:39Jackson lived for his own glory, and not for the glory of Jesus Christ.
-
13:39 - 13:43That, my friend, is a WASTED life. (P)
-
13:43 - 13:47The sixth reason why Michael Jackson's life and death matter is that,
-
13:47 - 13:51life is a vacuum outside of Jesus Christ.
-
13:51 - 13:55In John 1:4, Scripture says, "In Him was life (in Jesus Christ, that is,)
-
13:55 - 14:00In Him was life, and the life was the light of men."
-
14:00 - 14:01Really, it's that simple:
-
14:01 - 14:05Jesus Christ is life; and there's no life outside of Him. None.
-
14:05 - 14:06None whatsoever.
-
14:06 - 14:09And praise God if you've found Him to be so,
-
14:09 - 14:12because, as we already said, not many find it.
-
14:12 - 14:14Not many find that path that leads to life.
-
14:14 - 14:16And that path is Christ. (P)
-
14:16 - 14:21Many of you may be aware of Tom Brady's
comments in the 60-minute interview he had: -
14:21 - 14:24"But with all that money, fame, and career accomplishments,
-
14:24 - 14:27we were surprised to hear this from him,
-
14:27 - 14:29'Why do I have three Super Bowl rings
-
14:29 - 14:34and still think there's something greater out there for me?
-
14:34 - 14:38I mean... Maybe a lot of people would say, "hey man, this is what it is.
-
14:38 - 14:42I reached my goal, my dream. My life is..."
-
14:42 - 14:46Me I thank God, there's gotta be more than this.'
-
14:46 - 14:47"What's the answer?"
-
14:47 - 14:50"I wish I knew... I wish I knew..."
-
14:50 - 14:53which is just an incredible insight. (P)
-
14:53 - 14:57Here's this man, multi-million dollar contracts,
-
14:57 - 15:01making millions of dollars a year, winner of three Super Bowls,
-
15:01 - 15:04three-time MVP, dating a supermodel.
-
15:04 - 15:07According to the world he had it all.
-
15:07 - 15:10But he reveals to the whole world in that interview,
-
15:10 - 15:13he thinks there's got to be something greater out there for him.
-
15:13 - 15:17He says, "There's got to be more than this. There's got to be."
-
15:17 - 15:20And that's a question really that everybody grapples with.
-
15:20 - 15:24And they seek many different avenues to find its answer.
-
15:24 - 15:25And even the greatest of Icons -
-
15:25 - 15:27it shows in Brady, it shows in Michael Jackson -
-
15:27 - 15:32even the greatest of Icons are sinners in need of a Savior. (P)
-
15:32 - 15:37That question "there's got to be more than this; there's got to be more",
-
15:37 - 15:38that's what drives people to drugs.
-
15:38 - 15:41That's what drives people deep into sin.
-
15:41 - 15:43They're looking for satisfaction.
-
15:43 - 15:46They're looking for that answer,
and that answer is only found in Jesus Christ. -
15:46 - 15:48Outside of that, life is a vacuum.
-
15:48 - 15:50Self-fulfillment is a great lie
-
15:50 - 15:56because self can never give the fulfillment
that a sinner is looking for. -
15:56 - 15:57It's only found in Jesus Christ.
-
15:57 - 16:00There's a void without Him.
-
16:00 - 16:03Yet mankind never seeks to defy that truth. (P)
-
16:03 - 16:06The seventh reason why Michael Jackson's life and death matter is,
-
16:06 - 16:10it's a great reminder that it's been given unto man once to die,
-
16:10 - 16:13and then the judgment.
-
16:13 - 16:17You know, there's only really two certainties about life:
-
16:17 - 16:20it's death, and it's judgement.
-
16:20 - 16:22Those two things are certain.
-
16:22 - 16:25God's judgment, my friend, is far different than man's judgment.
-
16:25 - 16:28God's not impressed with Michael Jackson's moonwalk.
-
16:28 - 16:30He's not impressed with the success that he had in this life.
-
16:30 - 16:34Not at all. His judgment scale is far different.
-
16:34 - 16:36When Michael Jackson stands before God,
-
16:36 - 16:40God requires an absolute perfect righteousness.
-
16:40 - 16:43No man alive has that. Not one.
-
16:43 - 16:46Michael Jackson is in the same dilemma you and I are in.
-
16:46 - 16:48We have no good to offer God.
-
16:48 - 16:52In fact, before Him we're a putrefrying rag.
-
16:52 - 16:57We're a sinner deserving of eternal damnation. (P)
-
16:57 - 17:01No, don't get the idea, as so many people view,
-
17:01 - 17:04this false idea that there's a scale in Heaven,
-
17:04 - 17:06and God's gonna put our good deeds on one side,
-
17:06 - 17:07and our bad deeds on the other.
-
17:07 - 17:09That is not true.
-
17:09 - 17:13You place one bad thing on that scale, it'll cost you all eternity.
-
17:13 - 17:14It will.
-
17:14 - 17:17What you need, you need a Substitute, you need a Savior -
-
17:17 - 17:21One that's fully perfect, perfectly good.
-
17:21 - 17:26One that has taken all your bad upon Him,
and in turn put all His good upon you. -
17:26 - 17:31That's salvation! and it can only be obtained
when a person turns from their sin - -
17:31 - 17:35it's called repentance - turning from a life of sin unto God,
-
17:35 - 17:40and faith in Jesus Christ, trusting in Him and Him alone as your Savior.
-
17:40 - 17:42That is salvation my friend.
-
17:42 - 17:45Michael Jackson didn't have it. (P)
-
17:45 - 17:49The eighth reason Michael Jackson's life and death matters is,
-
17:49 - 17:54it teaches us the vanity of popularity.
-
17:54 - 17:59Jesus said, "Woe unto you when all people speak well of you."
-
17:59 - 18:03Wow. That's strange, isn't it?
-
18:03 - 18:06Don't we want people to say good things about us?
-
18:06 - 18:08Why would Jesus say that?
-
18:08 - 18:12He said that because mankind loves darkness more than light.
-
18:12 - 18:18In fact, strangely, man loves what God hates, and he hates what God loves. (P)
-
18:18 - 18:23Luke 21:17 says, "You'll be hated by all men for My name's sake."
-
18:23 - 18:25Jesus is talking to His disciples here.
-
18:25 - 18:27"You'll be hated," He said.
-
18:27 - 18:29That's the testimony of one who truly loves Christ,
-
18:29 - 18:33one who's really owned of Christ and has a true
saving relationship to Jesus Christ. -
18:33 - 18:35They'll be hated by this world, not loved.
-
18:35 - 18:37Certainly not worshiped. (P)
-
18:37 - 18:41In John 17:14, "The world has hated them."
-
18:41 - 18:42Jesus is praying to His Father here.
-
18:42 - 18:46He says, "The world has hated them," speaking of His own disciples.
-
18:46 - 18:51Why? "Because they're not of the world, just as I'm not of the world,"
-
18:51 - 18:53Popularity in this world, my friend,
-
18:53 - 18:57is nothing more than a signature that you are of the world.
-
18:57 - 19:01And if you are of the world you're not of Christ's.
-
19:01 - 19:04Jesus clearly taught that His people are not of this world,
-
19:04 - 19:08and as a result they're despised and hated. (P)
-
19:08 - 19:13In the end, Michael Jackson's fame was completely
vain and worthless before God. -
19:13 - 19:16And all the attention his death has received as a result,
-
19:16 - 19:19is an evidence of how much stock people put
-
19:19 - 19:22into what is of such little or no value. (P)
-
19:22 - 19:26The ninth reason why Michael Jackson's life and death matter:
-
19:26 - 19:30it reminds us of how short life really is.
-
19:30 - 19:34James says in James 4:14, "Life is a vapor.
-
19:34 - 19:37It's here for a little while and then vanishes away."
-
19:37 - 19:39Just like that. It's gone.
-
19:39 - 19:46Yet, how this vapor is lived, what you do with this vapor, has eternal consequences.
-
19:46 - 19:51We could talk about eternity; how do you compare eternity to this life?
-
19:51 - 19:52You can't.
-
19:52 - 19:55I mean, if I pluck one little tiny piece of grass:
-
19:55 - 19:58that's this life, in light of all eternity
-
19:58 - 20:00(all these other blades of grass in the cemetery.)
-
20:00 - 20:05Even if I compare it to this city, this state, the United States,
-
20:05 - 20:11it still pales in comparison because eternity is forever.
-
20:11 - 20:12It's infinite.
-
20:12 - 20:16Yet, what happens in this little speck of time that God gives us,
-
20:16 - 20:18has eternal consequences.
-
20:18 - 20:20That's serious. (P)
-
20:20 - 20:25The tenth reason why Michael Jackson's life and death matter
-
20:25 - 20:27is because, in the end, he's just another man.
-
20:27 - 20:30He's just like you, he's just like me. He is.
-
20:30 - 20:34Yet, we have the same disease, the same need,
-
20:34 - 20:41and we're gonna face the same Judge, our Creator Jesus Christ. (P)
-
20:41 - 20:45Let me ask you: When is your heart attack coming?
-
20:45 - 20:46When is that car accident coming to you?
-
20:46 - 20:50When is that sudden death of some sort coming?
-
20:50 - 20:51You don't know, do you?
-
20:51 - 20:53I don't know either.
-
20:53 - 20:57But are you ready to face the King of kings and the Lord of lords?
-
20:57 - 20:59Because when it happens, that's what you'll be doing.
-
20:59 - 21:02You'll be giving an account to Him. (P)
-
21:02 - 21:07I want to close with a quote from a missionary
back in the late 1800s, early 1900s. -
21:07 - 21:12He said this: "Tis only one life, only one,
-
21:12 - 21:16and soon shall pass (oh it passes fast),
-
21:16 - 21:19and only what's done in Christ will last."
