Judgment Day is Real - Tim Conway

  • 0:03 - 0:06
If I were to open this door right now
  • 0:06 - 0:08
    and take you out there,
  • 0:08 - 0:14
and I was to show you
  • 0:14 - 0:18
what is described in the book of Revelation
  • 0:18 - 0:22
where it talks about the wrath of God Almighty.
  • 0:22 - 0:24
It talks about the smoke of their torment
  • 0:24 - 0:26
going up forever and ever in the presence
  • 0:26 - 0:28
    of the Lamb.
  • 0:28 - 0:30
If I could take you out there
  • 0:30 - 0:33
and I could show you a picture of the lake of fire
  • 0:33 - 0:36
as it's described in Revelation 20
  • 0:36 - 0:39
    on that day when the books are opened;
  • 0:39 - 0:42
if I could show you the many multitudes
  • 0:42 - 0:46
who are going to be frantically crying out,
  • 0:46 - 0:49
    "Lord! Lord!"
  • 0:49 - 0:51
    They already know something's wrong.
  • 0:51 - 0:56
Most of them came out of a holding place
  • 0:56 - 0:58
    of the damned.
  • 0:58 - 1:01
They have been kept in chains
  • 1:01 - 1:02
    for that day of judgment.
  • 1:02 - 1:05
They already know something is wrong.
  • 1:05 - 1:07
    They are not in paradise.
  • 1:07 - 1:11
    They already know.
  • 1:11 - 1:14
But it's like one last, frantic plea:
  • 1:14 - 1:17
    "Lord! Lord!"
  • 1:17 - 1:22
    They're trying to reason.
  • 1:22 - 1:27
They're trying to find some way
  • 1:27 - 1:29
    to reason with the Lord
  • 1:29 - 1:32
to not ultimately cast them into that lake of fire.
  • 1:32 - 1:34
If I could take us all out there,
  • 1:34 - 1:36
and we could look at it and we could see
  • 1:36 - 1:40
what the judgment of the damned
  • 1:40 - 1:44
    really looks like.
  • 1:44 - 1:50
If you could know it the way it really is.
  • 1:50 - 1:55
What would your approach be towards the lost
  • 1:55 - 1:57
    Now?
  • 1:57 - 1:59
    Let me tell you something,
  • 1:59 - 2:02
if I could take you out that door right now
  • 2:02 - 2:06
and take you into Isaiah 6
  • 2:06 - 2:11
into the temple the day that Isaiah went there
  • 2:11 - 2:15
in the year that King Uzziah died,
  • 2:15 - 2:17
when he saw the Lord high and lifted up
  • 2:17 - 2:21
and His train filled the temple
  • 2:21 - 2:25
and the place was full of smoke
  • 2:25 - 2:27
    and it was like
    an earthquake in the place;
  • 2:27 - 2:29
the doorposts trembled at the sound
  • 2:29 - 2:33
    coming from the seraphim
    as they cried out,
  • 2:33 - 2:37
    "Holy, holy, holy."
  • 2:37 - 2:40
And this man was seized with fear.
  • 2:40 - 2:41
    The prophet.
  • 2:41 - 2:43
And he fell on his face,
  • 2:43 - 2:45
and he cried out, "Woe is me."
  • 2:45 - 2:47
If I could take you right now
  • 2:47 - 2:50
and show you the vision of Christ
  • 2:50 - 2:53
exalted in His glory like that,
  • 2:53 - 2:55
    and then come back here
    and sit down
  • 2:55 - 2:57
you would be in stunned silence.
  • 2:57 - 2:59
Some of you would be weeping.
  • 2:59 - 3:01
Some of you would be shouting
  • 3:01 - 3:02
    in absolute terror.
  • 3:02 - 3:04
    Some of you not even
    seeing it anymore
  • 3:04 - 3:06
would just be on your face,
  • 3:06 - 3:13
and I don't think you would move
    for a day or two.
  • 3:13 - 3:17
If I could take you out
    that door right now,
  • 3:17 - 3:19
and I could show you the fullness
  • 3:19 - 3:21
of what Paul meant when he said
  • 3:21 - 3:28
    an eternal weight of glory.
  • 3:28 - 3:30
If I could take you out
    that door right now
  • 3:30 - 3:33
    and show you
  • 3:33 - 3:37
    you, yourself...
  • 3:37 - 3:40
    from a camera's perspective;
  • 3:40 - 3:42
    a third person perspective;
  • 3:42 - 3:45
if I could show you what it will look like
  • 3:45 - 3:50
when it's your turn at the judgment bar.
  • 3:50 - 3:52
    That's reality.
  • 3:52 - 3:54
    The moment's going to come
  • 3:54 - 3:56
when your name will be called.
  • 3:56 - 3:58
If I could take you out
    that door right now
  • 3:58 - 4:00
    and show you that moment
  • 4:00 - 4:05
as it really will be in that day...
  • 4:05 - 4:08
Brethren, C.S. Lewis in some small way,
  • 4:08 - 4:15
he captured in one of his stories,
  • 4:15 - 4:25
there is a cabbie from the 1800's or so,
  • 4:25 - 4:32
he drove a cab that was drawn by a horse,
  • 4:32 - 4:34
and he was pulled into Narnia in the
  • 4:34 - 4:37
    day of Creation.
  • 4:37 - 4:39
    And as he saw it,
  • 4:39 - 4:42
    he said this,
  • 4:42 - 4:44
"If I'd have known such things,
  • 4:44 - 4:46
I would have been a different man."
  • 4:46 - 4:48
If I'd known such things were true,
  • 4:48 - 4:50
    were real, existed...
  • 4:50 - 4:54
    let me tell you,
  • 4:54 - 4:56
the things I'm describing to you
  • 4:56 - 5:00
    about your judgment,
  • 5:00 - 5:04
it's appointed unto every one of us
  • 5:04 - 5:06
    to appear before the
    judgment seat of Christ.
  • 5:06 - 5:10
    That includes the Christian.
  • 5:10 - 5:14
    What I described to you
    about the lake of fire,
  • 5:14 - 5:17
about the wrath of God Almighty,
  • 5:17 - 5:20
about the way Christ appeared in Isaiah 6,
  • 5:20 - 5:23
    this is truth.
  • 5:23 - 5:25
    Eternal weight of glory.
  • 5:25 - 5:28
If I could show you right now
  • 5:28 - 5:32
what Jesus Christ actually meant by
  • 5:32 - 5:34
    treasure in heaven;
  • 5:34 - 5:36
when He said don't lay up for yourselves
  • 5:36 - 5:38
    treasures on this earth,
  • 5:38 - 5:40
but lay up treasure in heaven.
  • 5:40 - 5:44
If you could see what that actually was,
  • 5:44 - 5:47
    you would give everything away.
  • 5:47 - 5:51
Everyone in this room would become that
  • 5:51 - 5:55
poor widow who gave her last two mites.
  • 5:55 - 5:58
If you saw what the treasure was,
  • 5:58 - 6:00
    you would give everything.
  • 6:00 - 6:05
If you saw how short life is,
  • 6:05 - 6:08
    and how you live
will have mattered in that day,
  • 6:08 - 6:10
Jesus Christ said in Luke 14,
  • 6:10 - 6:13
    when you have a meal,
  • 6:13 - 6:15
    don't invite your neighbor
  • 6:15 - 6:17
and your wealthy relative and so on,
  • 6:17 - 6:20
He said, invite the lame and the maimed
  • 6:20 - 6:23
and the halt and the blind.
  • 6:23 - 6:28
He said you will be rewarded
    in the day of resurrection.
  • 6:28 - 6:32
    If you could see
    what the rewards were like,
  • 6:32 - 6:34
    I am absolutely convinced,
  • 6:34 - 6:37
if you could see what you will feel
  • 6:37 - 6:39
    when you look at Christ,
  • 6:39 - 6:43
to know how much of your life you wasted,
  • 6:43 - 6:46
how much of it you could
    have had eternal reward for,
  • 6:46 - 6:49
    but you wasted it.
  • 6:49 - 6:53
    If I could show you
    how things really are...
  • 6:53 - 6:55
    but brethren, here's the thing,
  • 6:55 - 6:57
the Word of God does show us
  • 6:57 - 6:59
    how things really are.
  • 6:59 - 7:02
    The problem is not that
    you have not been shown
  • 7:02 - 7:04
    how things really are,
  • 7:04 - 7:06
but the problem is we're too much
  • 7:06 - 7:07
    like the disciples.
  • 7:07 - 7:10
See, the disciples had it told to them
  • 7:10 - 7:13
    who Christ really was.
  • 7:13 - 7:15
And yet, in the face of a storm,
  • 7:15 - 7:17
they forget who He really was.
  • 7:17 - 7:20
It wasn't until they saw by sight
  • 7:20 - 7:22
the storm stifled that they fell down
  • 7:22 - 7:24
    and they worshipped Him.
  • 7:24 - 7:26
    But the fact is,
    what was true about Him
  • 7:26 - 7:28
    was true whether they
saw the storm cease or not.
  • 7:28 - 7:30
    The point is this,
  • 7:30 - 7:32
what is true about the treasure in heaven
  • 7:32 - 7:34
    is true whether I can
    take you out that door
  • 7:34 - 7:37
to look at it or not.
  • 7:37 - 7:41
    It's true.
