This episode: Apple Watch!

(Finebros) So today we're changing it up.

We're gonna have you react to something

we haven't done on Kids React before.

Okay.

No, not again.

(Finebros) You're going to be
reacting not to old technology,

- but to new technology.
- (squeals) New stuff!

(Finebros) Which is this.

(squeals) Can I keep it?

Mmm, it's cool.

Is this something that counts your steps?

A mini, mini, mini iPod Nano.

It kind of looks like it's from the future.

The future watch.

The Apple Watch.

Is this the Apple Watch?

I'm speechless.

Can I put it on?

I can't do it.

Does anyone know how to do this?

(children) Question time!

(Finebros) So do you know
what they call that?

Nope.

Those little phone watches?

A watch?

- (Finebros) What type of watch?
- A future watch?

The Apple iWatch?

Apple Watch.

It's an Apple Watch.

- (Finebros) How do you know about it?
- Parodies online.

I've seen it in this video
called The Apple Watch Sucks.

My sisters have been talking about it.

When the iPhone 6 came out,
they revealed the Apple Watch.

(Finebros) So that is
the brand-new Apple Watch.

Oh, of course Apple made this.

(Finebros) Do you know
what the Apple Watch does?

I actually have no idea.

No.

I don't really know much about it.

Well, it tells time...

You can see your heart rate.

I think you can play games on it.

You can check the weather,
just like the regular phone.

(Finebros) So you know
what a smart phone is.

Mhm.

(Finebros) So that is a smart watch.

What would you expect a smart watch
to be able to do?

See movies, probably, on this.

Tell different time zones.

Probably do the exercise thing.

Call and text people, I think.

You'd be able to go on the Internet?

Have apps and not just show the time.

Stuff that a smart phone can do?

They don't have
enough money to buy a phone,

but they have enough money to buy this?

(Finebros) So with the Apple Watch,
in order to get almost all of the functions

to work properly, you also need
to have an iPhone 5 or later.

Are you serious?

That's just dumb.

I thought it just worked by itself.

Oh, so that's why there was an update

and then I got that thing on my phone.

That's basically how
all of the other ones are.

It's kind of disappointing
that you have to have a thing

with you to make it work.

Ooh, I got a magic phone
to wear on my wrist.

It's not working!

And then you'd look at
the instruction manual and it's just like,

"I need an iPhone?
I need an iPhone!"

(Finebros) So go ahead and just start
playing around with the watch.

I've never put on a watch before, so eh.

Okay.

This is different.
What the heck is this?

Oh, so I use this to go up and down,

and I think you can use your finger too.

Calendar...

Hmm, how do I go back?

How do you go back?

(Finebros) If you press that button in,
it'll bring you to the screen

- you were just at and bring you back.
- (gasps) This is so cool!

(Finebros) Hit the circle button.

Ooh, appy!

Cool!

I like this set up.

This is weird, the way it's formatted.

It's all in one little cluster,

so it's really hard to find stuff.

It's kinda hard to see,
but this thing is still awesome.

I don't see YouTube.
It's worthless!

Ooh, it does have that one trivia thing.

Well, it's kinda not useless.
You've got a game on there.

(Finebros) So now I'm gonna show you
something else the watch can do.

- (watch dings)
- It's shaking.

- Oh, whoa. H-Hi.
- (watch dings)

It just pops up while
you're trying to do something.

I don't know.
Does this thing text?

It says, "Hi, Devyn."

"Hi, Joseph."

I got a message and it said,
"Hi, Kacey! Do you like the watch?"

(Finebros) So how do you
reply to the text message?

- Can you type?
- No.

It only has the yes and no thing.

You should be able to type
so that you can say anything you want.

Ooh, I know how to do it!
There's a microphone.

You can talk.

I like typing better than talking
'cause sometimes it mishears you.

It doesn't make any sense.

If you have your phone right there,
but then you wanna answer

your texts on this thing.

(Finebros) Now I'm going to show you
how it works as a phone.

I thought it just showed your phone call.

I didn't know it had a microphone.

(watch rings)

(gasps) You're calling me!

(watch rings)

Hello?

- (Finebros) Hello?
- Um, hey.

- (Finebros) Hi, Jayka.
- Hi!

Oh my goodness.

(Finebros) It works!

This thing's awesome.

(Finebros) I'm hanging up now.

- You're mean!
- (Finebros laughs)

Don't hang up on me!

You look like a spy
just talking into your watch

while you're going down the street.

I think this is cool,
but I think it should have

some more stuff that you
can do without your phone.

(Finebros) So it has
the text messages and the phone

and all those different apps
like the exercise program,

but it basically does all the same things
that your phone can do,

except it's on your wrist.

Well, I dunno, it definitely
makes you look cooler.

I have watches and I don't use
it to check the time.

Who uses a watch to check the time?

Why do this when you can
just take out your phone in a second

and answer?

You're kind of confused,
like should I use my phone,

or should try to use the Apple Watch?
Which one's better?

It has the things that a normal phone has,

but it's not as good as a normal phone.

It still has them and that's pretty cool.

(Finebros) So do you think
there is a need for this device?

No.

I think it's cool, but not necessary.

It's cool, but I don't really need it,
but I really, really want it.

Nobody really needs a smart phone.

Nobody needs this either.

You don't need a TV.
It's a cool thing to have.

I don't really think
there's a need for this

because you already have the phone.

I really like this.
This is a good idea.

Whoever made this, amazing job!

(Finebros) So now let's talk price.

The cheapest Apple Watch
goes for about $350.

That's not really bad.

Really?

Oh my god!

Is it a watch made of gold?

(Finebros) Funny you would say that.

They have a watch made of gold version.

- It starts at $10,000.
- Are you--?!

(grumbles)

(through teeth) Apple!

I want this solid gold one.

Go to the store--
you have to drive and bring it to me!

Why do you even need a solid gold one?

There's no point in that.

This is just as good as the solid gold one.

(Finebros) Truth!

(Finebros) So yes or no,
would you want an Apple Watch?

I wouldn't pay for it.

Yeah.

No, I wouldn't!

Yes.

I would.

Yeah.

I don't.

Your phone can do just as much.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!

No. It doesn't have
as many things as a phone does,

and you have to have your phone
with you for the most part.

(Finebros) Finally, do you think
this is gonna be a big hit

and start a huge craze that everyone's
gonna have an Apple Watch?

No, I don't think this is gonna hit off.

It's an accessory.

It's gonna catch on, but it's not gonna be
as common as the iPhone.

I don't think it should
have the phone with it

and I wanna watch YouTube on this!

If this had YouTube on it, I would have one.

YouTube is my life.

Some people are just like,
"Oh my gosh!

This is the new fad.
I need it. I need it."

If you don't need your phone
to do all these things with you,

then I think this might be a really big hit

and everybody would want it.
I know I would.
