Organic Rankine Cycle technology is a reliable and efficient way to get heat and electricity from biomass.

How it works:

The organic fluid, in a liquid form, is fed into the closed loop through a pump. It then runs through the regenerator coil where it undergoes initial heating. The fluid is then conveyed to the pre-heater and into the evaporator.


At this point, the thermal oil in the boiler increases the fluid's temperature until it reaches evaporation point.
The vapor generated, then expands into the turbine to produce electrical energy through a generator.

Downstream of the turbine, the vapor contributes to pre-heating the organic liquid in the regenerator, contributing to a higher efficiency as more of the thermal energy is utilized in the process.

Lastly, back in its liquid form, the organic fluid is conveyed to the pump, and from there it is reintroduced into the closed loop.
