European Straw Bale Gathering 2013, Łódź, Poland - Invitation

ESBG stands for European Straw Bale Gathering, and it is a bi-yearly event, which brings together craftsmen, builders, architects, engineers and all others who are passionate about building with Straw Bales. So, If you are seriously interested in building with bales that is an event you can not miss!

This year is going to take place in Poland in Łódź in the last 5 days of August 2013. Because of it's location it is going to be the very first post-industrial ESBG! Not only that, but it is also going to be the first crowdfunded one, meaning both full independence from sponsors/authorities and a very broad educational appeal.

The programme of this event is a mixture of theory and practice and a lot of opportunities for networking;) Planned activities include: conference, discussion panels, workshops, exhibition and a bus trip. This year's main theme "Simplicity is a feature" means that we will try to focus on finding simple and elegant solutions to difficult questions of sustainable an affordable construction, design and education in relation to Straw-Bale Building. We want to raise a number of topics ranging from technical details through research and law regulations to international cooperation and education.

What's more, before the gathering we would like to invite everybody to join the crowdfunding campaign and co-create the event and gain access to valuable knowledge. There will also be a chance to listen to open webinars (online presentations) by experts from all over Europe, held regularly in spring and summer of 2013.
