Speakout Elementary Video Podcast Unit 12 Experiences

  • 0:16 - 0:20
I love living in London because there is so much to do.
  • 0:20 - 0:25
I’ve been to lots of interesting places but there is always something new to experience.
  • 0:25 - 0:28
How do you feel about London?
  • 0:28 - 0:31
I love London, I’ve actually lived here for 14 years.
  • 0:31 - 0:36

I love London, I love the diversity, all the different people here, the multiculturalism.
  • 0:36 - 0:41

I love London, London is one of the most amazing cities, it’s so exciting, there is so
  • 0:41 - 0:43

much to do and see in London.
  • 0:43 - 0:45
I think it’s one of my favourite cities.
  • 0:45 - 0:48

I like London, but sometimes it’s too busy.
  • 0:48 - 0:53

There’s too many people, it’s too big a city, it doesn’t have any real heart,
  • 0:53 - 1:01
and for a holiday it’s not very relaxing.
  • 1:01 - 1:02

Living in Australia at the moment,
  • 1:02 - 1:08
comparing it to London I find the people to be, more humorous and lively,
  • 1:08 - 1:09
there seems to be more going on.
  • 1:09 - 1:14

Absolutely love London, one of the best places, I think anyone can live,
  • 1:14 - 1:15
there is just so much happening.
  • 1:15 - 1:17
I mean my father is just over for two weeks,
  • 1:17 - 1:21
actually will be going down to all the galleries and stuff today along the South Bank.
  • 1:21 - 1:25

I feel very comfortable in London, it’s already like my fifth time.
  • 1:25 - 1:27

I wouldn’t like to live in London,
  • 1:27 - 1:29
but to visit it’s an absolutely tremendous place
  • 1:29 - 1:31
and where I live it’s just a short train ride.
  • 1:31 - 1:35

I do like London, I really like the old architecture and the history that you have here.
  • 1:35 - 1:37

There’s a lot to see and it’s just a really nice city.
  • 1:37 - 1:40

London is a really nice city, it takes a lot to get used to.
  • 1:40 - 1:46

I like London very much. I like London because of its huge diversity of people and
  • 1:46 - 1:51

huge diversity of things to do and places to see.
  • 1:52 - 1:56

What’s the most exciting thing you’ve done in London?
  • 1:56 - 2:00

The most exciting thing that I’ve done in London recently is to see ‘Oasis’ live.
  • 2:00 - 2:04
I went to the Roundhouse and it was the most amazing concert.
  • 2:04 - 2:09
It was free so we ended up having nice passes so we were close to the band
  • 2:09 - 2:14
and it was incredible, it’s the best thing I think I’ve seen in a long time.
  • 2:14 - 2:18

I’ve been to the theatre quite a lot in London, I went to see ‘Waiting for Godot’
  • 2:18 - 2:19
    over at the National.
  • 2:19 - 2:23

I’ve recently been to ‘Hampton Court’ which is a royal palace,
  • 2:23 - 2:27
most famously known for being the place where Henry the eighth lived
  • 2:27 - 2:29
and a few of his wives that made it there
  • 2:29 - 2:33

I think ‘Tate Modern’ is the best place I’ve been to,
  • 2:33 - 2:35
you know because it’s different every time.
  • 2:35 - 2:43
They really push the boundaries of the displays compared to a lot of the traditional museums and art galleries in London.
  • 2:43 - 2:46

The best thing I’ve ever done is watch a gig in Hyde Park
  • 2:46 - 2:47
    because my cousins work there.
  • 2:47 - 2:50

The most exciting thing I’ve done in London,
  • 2:50 - 2:54
I’ve watched England play football at Wembley, that was quite exciting.
  • 2:54 - 2:58

It was just this weekend we were in Brixton in Brockwell Park,
  • 2:58 - 3:04
and there was a county fair going on, just the characters in the crowd were absolutely fantastic.
  • 3:04 - 3:08

I’ve done a lot of interesting things and had a lot of good experiences here but
  • 3:08 - 3:10
probably the best thing was when I went to Wimbledon this year.
  • 3:10 - 3:14
I got to watch Andy Murray on centre-court,
  • 3:14 - 3:17
I managed to get some tickets for that. t was just a really good atmosphere,
  • 3:17 - 3:20
was a good example of British culture and sport.
