Introducing the eAcademy for Tay-Sachs & Sandhoff Disease

The Cure & Action for Tay-Sachs (CATS) Foundation has produced an app for for smart phones and tablets to give carers information on the diseases, tips on providing care and popular questions.

Hi, I'm Dan Lewi and I'm from The Cure
& Action for Tay-Sachs (CATS) Foundation

and we are the creators of the

eAcademy for Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff
Disease app which you've downloaded.

We believe that this app will make a huge
difference in helping you care for a

family member affected by either Tay-Sachs
or Sandhoff disease.

The development of this app would not have
been possible without the generous support

of Genzyme and their Patient Advocacy
Leadership Awards.

The CATS Foundation was a winner of one
of these award in 2014, and it is to them

that we say a huge thank you to.

Using the eAcademy app is relatively
simple, and all you need to do is to

search through the various categories on
the home page.

You will be able to see the sub-sections
within each category, where they

all have their own video and text summary.

The videos have been created by using
interviews with families who have

someone affected by Tay-Sachs or Sandhoff
disease, healthcare professionals,

and medical specialists.

We hope that this will give you a unique
insight into each category within our app

as you will be able to hear detailed
medical descriptions of something,

such as a symptom, and then how that
symptom is managed by the family.
