Beyond the Clouds of the Mind —
This Is the Highest Way I Can Be With You
  • 0:29 - 0:32
    23 January 2021 | Evening Satsang
  • 0:33 - 0:36
    [Mooji reads]
    'Dearest beloved Moojibaba' ...
  • 0:36 - 0:38
    [M.] I know that you ...
    Ah! There you go!
  • 0:38 - 0:45
[Mooji] And surely we have been
in close contact over the years.
  • 0:45 - 0:49
    Thank you for writing.
    I found your letter now.
  • 0:49 - 0:51
    [M.] 'Immense gratitude', you write,
  • 0:51 - 0:57
    [Mooji] 'Immense gratitude for you
guiding us to our freedom and Truth.
  • 0:57 - 1:01
I would like to take this blessed opportunity
  • 1:01 - 1:04
to ask for your grace and blessings,
  • 1:04 - 1:08
so that there is full recognition of the Self,
  • 1:08 - 1:17
and any seeds of delusion, illusion,
    ego, identity, and fears
  • 1:17 - 1:21
    are completely burnt and removed.'
  • 1:21 - 1:26
    [Mooji] Everybody who has tasted
    the nectar of the real,
  • 1:26 - 1:31
    spontaneously they want,
'I just want to come all the way home!'
  • 1:31 - 1:36
We want to come all the way home
    because we know that
  • 1:36 - 1:43
this is not going to be found
in any object in the world.
  • 1:43 - 1:45
It's not going to be found there.
  • 1:45 - 1:48
You're discovering this inside your Heart.
  • 1:48 - 1:51
And you don't want anything to stop you
  • 1:51 - 1:54
from coming fully into your discovery.
  • 1:54 - 1:59
This is a wise attitude, of course,
    and a fruitful one.
  • 1:59 - 2:04
However, we would all love to have a switch that
  • 2:04 - 2:07
we could just switch off the mind with.
  • 2:07 - 2:10
Just [click], 'Thank you very much.
    Enough of you!'
  • 2:10 - 2:13
But at the same time, we notice that,
  • 2:13 - 2:20
    of course, the mind energy
    has been empowered through habit.
  • 2:20 - 2:27
    And we are meant
to experience the phase of the mental self,
  • 2:27 - 2:30
the psychological identity, for a while.
  • 2:30 - 2:32
    But you must know that
  • 2:32 - 2:35
    you're experiencing
    on the base of consciousness,
  • 2:35 - 2:37
    consciousness is there first,
  • 2:37 - 2:40
it will take the shape of personhood
    for a while,
  • 2:40 - 2:43
and we don't know how long.
    We don't know.
  • 2:43 - 2:48
    Certainly, some say,
before this present lifetime and life form,
  • 2:48 - 2:51
we have been moving, we call it like,
  • 2:51 - 2:58
    in soul, over many bodies
    in this journey of Self-discovering.
  • 2:58 - 3:00
And what we can say is,
  • 3:00 - 3:05
in this lifetime, in this life form,
  • 3:05 - 3:08
something has stirred into an awakening,
  • 3:08 - 3:20
and we are naturally convinced that
    the Self is our reality,
  • 3:20 - 3:24
and that we don't want to waste time
  • 3:24 - 3:29
    living in the shallow
    and narrow mode of personhood.
  • 3:29 - 3:32
We have received the darshan of God already.
  • 3:32 - 3:37
Somehow, any journey is a journey inward.
  • 3:37 - 3:41
    Before, the journeys were outward.
  • 3:41 - 3:45
Now, the seeming journey is heartward.
  • 3:45 - 3:47
    And we may find that,
  • 3:47 - 3:54
of course, from time to time
some old habits may flare up.
  • 3:54 - 3:57
    Something may happen,
  • 3:57 - 4:00
and without effort we find ourselves
  • 4:00 - 4:04
back into the old regime of personal identity.
  • 4:04 - 4:08
I say, don't be too surprised by that,
  • 4:08 - 4:11
it is the force of habit.
  • 4:11 - 4:14
Your Self has not gone anywhere.
  • 4:14 - 4:18
Your Truth is not moving out of the way
  • 4:18 - 4:20
to give a stage to your mind.
  • 4:20 - 4:25
No. It is just a twist of attention,
  • 4:25 - 4:27
and we are back somehow experiencing
  • 4:27 - 4:32
as though we are in the old identity again.
  • 4:32 - 4:36
And just accept that it is not bad luck.
  • 4:36 - 4:39
It is not a terrible thing.
  • 4:39 - 4:45
This oscillation between person and presence
    may happen for a while.
  • 4:45 - 4:50
We may feel in the state of presence,
    so blessed, so peaceful.
  • 4:50 - 4:54
'Thank you, thank you, I'm so happy!'
You just want to stay here.
  • 4:54 - 4:59
    Then, somehow, something happens,
    and the pendulum swings outwards,
  • 4:59 - 5:03
    and again we're thinking,
    'Oh, what's happened? I don't know.
  • 5:03 - 5:06
This is horrible. I don't like to be in this.'
  • 5:06 - 5:10
    And back again, you're feeling,
'Thank you. Hallelujah to the Truth!
  • 5:10 - 5:12
I'm so happy, I'm here again!'
  • 5:12 - 5:16
So this oscillation plays for everybody,
    for a while.
  • 5:16 - 5:20
By the momentum and the force of habit,
    it comes and goes.
  • 5:20 - 5:22
But what happens, when it comes,
  • 5:22 - 5:29
    it's as though
we are hypnotised by the old patterns,
  • 5:29 - 5:34
    and we are playing out
    the game of personhood.
  • 5:34 - 5:37
    And then somehow,
by grace, or by your satsang,
  • 5:37 - 5:43
    you find yourself again
just free and empty of the mind energy,
  • 5:43 - 5:46
and again in your natural place of silence.
  • 5:46 - 5:51
    And it feels,
'Oh, how divine! How blessed!' And so on.
  • 5:51 - 5:54
    And so everyone
    who is experiencing these states,
  • 5:54 - 5:58
asks, 'How can we stabilise in this?
  • 5:58 - 6:04
Please help us to cut the mind dynamics
  • 6:04 - 6:08
so that we can always be in this state.'
  • 6:08 - 6:13
    And then I ask you,
who is the one who is suffering the mind?
  • 6:13 - 6:16
Who is the one who is suffering the mind?
  • 6:16 - 6:19
And of course, we feel, 'It's me, it's me!'
  • 6:19 - 6:21
    And I ask you,
  • 6:21 - 6:27
please, let's just focus a little bit
on this sense of 'me' again.
  • 6:27 - 6:30
Who is this 'me' who is suffering the mind?
  • 6:30 - 6:33
    And we find that
sometimes people are a bit stuck.
  • 6:33 - 6:38
They don't know how to answer that,
because until now, for most people,
  • 6:38 - 6:43
    we have not gone
beyond the shallow reflection of what we are.
  • 6:43 - 6:46
We just say, 'I am me'.
  • 6:46 - 6:50
But we have never thought beyond this.
    What is this 'I'?
  • 6:50 - 6:54
    Now, I point you again,
  • 6:54 - 6:59
    rather than going to try
and untangle this mentally, and to understand,
  • 6:59 - 7:03
    which sometimes we feel like,
    we have come to understand,
  • 7:03 - 7:05
but it has not gone deep.
  • 7:05 - 7:14
So, the early exercises that I gave,
which is just to sit ...
  • 7:14 - 7:18
    Leave aside these notions about,
'I need to get rid of my mind',
  • 7:18 - 7:22
    'I need to suppress',
or 'I need to throw the mind out'.
  • 7:22 - 7:28
Have no intention for a moment,
    not even good intentions.
  • 7:28 - 7:35
Leave the 'preparation to be something' aside.
  • 7:35 - 7:37
    And as you do that,
  • 7:37 - 7:44
    even your present identity,
who you take yourself to be,
  • 7:44 - 7:47
    your desire
for what you'd like to happen in the future,
  • 7:47 - 7:52
and all this type of stuff,
every kind of mind-tendency or habit,
  • 7:52 - 7:54
just leave this aside for a moment.
  • 7:54 - 7:56
    Just leave everything
  • 7:56 - 7:59
until there's nothing left that you're keeping.
  • 7:59 - 8:01
And this you can do right now.
  • 8:01 - 8:04
It's so practical, and it's so immediate.
  • 8:04 - 8:08
    Leave everything aside right now,
  • 8:08 - 8:13
until there is nothing left to leave aside.
  • 8:13 - 8:18
    So, what remains here
is a beautiful sense of just being empty.
  • 8:22 - 8:25
Now, this emptiness is not something
  • 8:25 - 8:27
that you see with your physical eyes.
  • 8:27 - 8:34
It's an intuitive knowing. You are just here.
  • 8:34 - 8:43
Now, here, you know that you are, naturally.
  • 8:43 - 8:47
And this 'I am' sense ...
    Look!
  • 8:47 - 8:50
It's not attached to any history.
  • 8:50 - 8:53
Please look with me as I'm sitting here now.
  • 8:53 - 8:58
    This sense 'I am',
and this is for anyone and everybody,
  • 8:58 - 9:10
this natural untaught awareness of Self
    is without history.
  • 9:10 - 9:13
    It is not personal.
  • 9:17 - 9:27
    So, you're not a container
    of memories or concepts.
  • 9:27 - 9:30
    Everyone.
  • 9:30 - 9:38
There is only the natural sense of being.
  • 9:38 - 9:44
    And awareness is here.
  • 9:44 - 9:48
Not awareness of this, awareness of that.
    Just awareness.
  • 9:48 - 9:53
    You naturally know, you exist.
  • 9:53 - 9:56
But you are what, that is existing?
  • 9:56 - 10:00
    Just look. Look. Don't create.
  • 10:00 - 10:04
    And don't imagine.
  • 10:04 - 10:07
    Start here.
  • 10:07 - 10:12
So, of course, the mind-habit wants to come in,
  • 10:12 - 10:17
to give some feedback, to give some answers.
  • 10:17 - 10:20
    But you know,
and you will know if that happens,
  • 10:20 - 10:22
    'No, not you. Not now.
  • 10:22 - 10:25
I don't want any opinions about anything.'
  • 10:25 - 10:29
Just you stay as you are. OK?
  • 10:29 - 10:34
    Also, sometimes the mind comes,
and it feels like, 'Yes, but ...
  • 10:34 - 10:36
It's nothing, it's nothing! Come on!
  • 10:36 - 10:43
    Why wait for more nothing!
It's just, nothing is going on.'
  • 10:43 - 10:49
But its voice is not so, what you may call,
  • 10:49 - 10:52
the influence is not strong now
  • 10:52 - 10:58
because you have chosen simply to be.
  • 10:58 - 11:02
And this sense of being is not a verb.
  • 11:02 - 11:05
It's not that you're doing being.
  • 11:05 - 11:09
You simply are. Pay attention to this.
  • 11:09 - 11:14
Everyone, just pay attention to this.
  • 11:14 - 11:19
Wherever you may be, in whichever country,
  • 11:19 - 11:22
    whichever place you may be,
  • 11:22 - 11:26
    your experience and seeing
  • 11:26 - 11:31
is universally one, right now, if you follow.
  • 11:31 - 11:35
I'm not asking you to think about this.
  • 11:35 - 11:38
    Simply just, you are here.
  • 11:38 - 11:40
    You are here.
  • 11:40 - 11:47
Whatever it is that is here now,
  • 11:47 - 11:51
I want to ask you all some questions,
  • 11:51 - 11:56
and I'm not going to ask you, necessarily,
    for a verbal response.
  • 11:56 - 11:59
[M.] But you can nod your head as 'Yes',
  • 11:59 - 12:02
or shake, to say 'No'. That's OK.
  • 12:02 - 12:04
I ask that you do this
  • 12:04 - 12:10
    because physically demonstrating
    what you see,
  • 12:10 - 12:16
in simple 'Yes' or 'No' responses,
    has a power.
  • 12:16 - 12:23
    Because it's as though
    you are registering your seeing,
  • 12:23 - 12:26
    and not just imagining.
  • 12:26 - 12:32
    So now we are here.
We are simply here in the space of being.
  • 12:36 - 12:41
    Now, may I ask you
    a few simple questions again,
  • 12:41 - 12:45
to which you may either nod 'Yes', or 'No'?
  • 12:45 - 12:49
    Look. Whatever is here,
  • 12:53 - 12:58
is it an object at all?
  • 12:58 - 13:03
[Mooji] No, it is not an object.
    Not an object.
  • 13:03 - 13:10
[Mooji] Is it merely a feeling?
    Is it merely a feeling?
  • 13:10 - 13:14
No, not merely a feeling, not merely a feeling.
  • 13:14 - 13:19
Is it a mood? Is it a mood?
  • 13:19 - 13:26
No, it is not a mood, not a mood.
  • 13:26 - 13:31
    [Mooji] Is it personal?
  • 13:31 - 13:34
[Mooji] No, not personal, not personal.
  • 13:34 - 13:36
    [Mooji] Thank you.
  • 13:40 - 13:43
    Whatever it is,
  • 13:43 - 13:48
I call it sometimes just the Is,
    or the Is-ness,
  • 13:48 - 13:53
to stay away from the words
which we have used so often before,
  • 13:53 - 13:57
    and have developed
    other kinds of connotations for.
  • 13:57 - 14:02
Just that which is here now,
  • 14:02 - 14:07
did it arrive, whatever you are aware of?
  • 14:07 - 14:11
    Did it come from somewhere?
  • 14:11 - 14:15
I'm watching you. I'm watching. I'm with you.
  • 14:15 - 14:18
So, I'm just registering your responses.
  • 14:18 - 14:21
[Mooji] This is an interactive moment,
  • 14:21 - 14:26
    [Mooji] so I can see
    and feel your responses also.
  • 14:31 - 14:34
What you are aware of right now,
  • 14:34 - 14:37
what you are aware of right now,
  • 14:37 - 14:42
is there any boundary to it?
  • 14:42 - 14:48
    Like, at a certain point,
do you come to the end of it?
  • 14:48 - 14:52
The feedback I'm seeing from you is,
    'No, there is no boundary'.
  • 14:52 - 14:56
    No boundary to it.
  • 14:56 - 14:59
    [silence]
  • 15:08 - 15:14
    May I ask you,
whatever it is in this knowingness,
  • 15:14 - 15:19
can it be sick? Can it ever get sick itself?
  • 15:19 - 15:22
My eyes are on you. Just let me know.
  • 15:22 - 15:26
    [Mooji] It cannot be sick.
  • 15:26 - 15:29
[Mooji] Have I got everyone's response here?
  • 15:29 - 15:33
[Mooji] Ah. It cannot be sick.
  • 15:33 - 15:38
[Mooji] Can it ever get depressed?
  • 15:38 - 15:43
No, it cannot get depressed. OK.
  • 15:47 - 15:53
Can I ask you, are you imagining this,
    or directly perceiving?
  • 15:53 - 15:55
    You're imagining it?
  • 15:55 - 15:58
Not imagining. No need to imagine.
    No need to imagine.
  • 16:02 - 16:08
I'm going to take a risk and ask a question.
  • 16:08 - 16:13
Does it have any beginning? Simply, simply.
  • 16:13 - 16:15
    Is there any feeling that
  • 16:15 - 16:19
it has a starting point, or any beginning?
  • 16:19 - 16:23
I'm with you. I'm with you here.
    Look, now.
  • 16:23 - 16:26
    No, no beginning.
  • 16:26 - 16:29
Or, let's go to the other end now.
  • 16:29 - 16:34
Can it end, or be destroyed in some way?
  • 16:34 - 16:36
    Please look.
  • 16:39 - 16:44
[Mooji] No, it cannot. It cannot be destroyed.
  • 16:48 - 16:54
    [Mooji] Can it ever be
against what you are, or any person?
  • 16:58 - 17:01
    It cannot be. Very good.
  • 17:05 - 17:12
Does it have any judgement in it at all?
  • 17:12 - 17:14
No, it has not any judgement.
  • 17:18 - 17:26
Can it belong to one specific religion,
    and not to another one?
  • 17:26 - 17:30
    Can it belong to anyone?
Can anyone have ownership of that?
  • 17:30 - 17:33
I'm watching, just to hear from you.
  • 17:33 - 17:38
    No. Very good.
  • 17:38 - 17:41
    Wonderful!
  • 17:45 - 17:48
    Let me ask you,
  • 17:48 - 17:53
    you are so aware presently,
  • 17:53 - 17:58
    is it an object?
I ask again, is it an object?
  • 18:04 - 18:08
    Can it fade?
  • 18:08 - 18:10
    Can it fade?
  • 18:10 - 18:12
    Meaning, can it gradually disappear?
  • 18:12 - 18:18
    [Mooji] Can it disappear?
  • 18:18 - 18:22
    [Mooji] Did it appear?
  • 18:22 - 18:25
    [Mooji] Ah, wonderful!
  • 18:29 - 18:34
You see, this is why I asked you
  • 18:34 - 18:40
to just postpone your thinking energy,
  • 18:40 - 18:43
    to empty your mind completely
  • 18:43 - 18:49
of the usual habits of the mind,
  • 18:49 - 18:54
    to be totally empty,
even of personal identity. I ask this.
  • 18:54 - 18:59
Why to ask you to be
    so empty, empty, empty, empty?
  • 18:59 - 19:06
Because when you are empty of all that
    you think you've learnt,
  • 19:06 - 19:10
then I can ask you this type of question.
  • 19:10 - 19:18
    This kind of question,
which most people cannot even answer,
  • 19:18 - 19:21
it is so, it is so ...
  • 19:21 - 19:26
No university can teach you about it!
  • 19:26 - 19:29
And yet, without spending time to think,
  • 19:29 - 19:31
    and to work anything out,
  • 19:31 - 19:38
    your responses are arising
as soon as the question is heard.
  • 19:38 - 19:40
    Why?
  • 19:40 - 19:43
May I ask you another question?
  • 19:47 - 19:51
How far away from you is it?
  • 19:51 - 19:54
What you are aware of now,
  • 19:54 - 19:59
how far do you have to go to meet it?
  • 19:59 - 20:05
Do you have to make some distance
    to connect with it?
  • 20:05 - 20:09
    No distance. No distance.
  • 20:09 - 20:12
So, this is what I've been asking you.
  • 20:12 - 20:15
    These questions are the questions
  • 20:15 - 20:19
I've been asking beings all over the world.
  • 20:19 - 20:22
Whichever background they have come from,
  • 20:22 - 20:25
whichever belief systems they have had,
  • 20:25 - 20:31
whichever background they've had to their life,
    all these things,
  • 20:31 - 20:37
and largely, the response is coming from here.
  • 20:37 - 20:41
Almost 95, 96 percent of the people are aware.
  • 20:41 - 20:44
Some people say, 'I can't work it out'.
  • 20:44 - 20:47
I say, OK, for the moment,
    if I leave those aside,
  • 20:47 - 20:52
    the vast majority
is seeing and responding in the same way.
  • 20:52 - 20:55
So it doesn't matter which country you are in.
  • 20:55 - 20:58
It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman.
  • 20:58 - 21:02
It doesn't matter if you're black or white.
    It doesn't matter.
  • 21:02 - 21:06
    The seeing is confirming something
    that cannot be touched.
  • 21:06 - 21:08
    It is not a form.
  • 21:08 - 21:12
So I'm just going to go over for myself again.
  • 21:12 - 21:15
When you are asked, 'Is it an object?',
  • 21:15 - 21:18
you say, 'It is not an object'.
  • 21:18 - 21:23
I ask again, does it have any shape or size?
  • 21:23 - 21:25
    Now, I ask you.
  • 21:25 - 21:28
'It has no shape or size.'
  • 21:28 - 21:31
    Is it a mood?
You say, 'No, it's not a mood'.
  • 21:31 - 21:36
    What about a feeling?
'No, it is not a feeling.'
  • 21:36 - 21:38
    Can it fade away?
  • 21:38 - 21:43
For instance, now you are aware of it,
  • 21:43 - 21:46
and let's say, you wake up tomorrow.
    Would it have gone?
  • 21:46 - 21:50
Can it go? Can it go away?
  • 21:50 - 21:52
I'm watching. Can it go away?
  • 21:52 - 21:55
[Mooji] No, it cannot go away.
  • 21:55 - 21:58
[Mooji] I asked you, Can it be sick?
    You said, 'No'.
  • 21:58 - 22:01
[M.] I asked you, Can it get depressed?
  • 22:01 - 22:04
You said, 'No, it cannot get depressed'.
  • 22:04 - 22:08
I said, Where did it begin?
Does it have a starting place?
  • 22:08 - 22:10
You say, 'It hasn't got a starting place'.
  • 22:10 - 22:13
I say, Does it have an ending place?
  • 22:13 - 22:16
You say, 'No, it doesn't have an ending place'.
  • 22:16 - 22:19
    I say, Does it judge?
You say, 'It does not judge'.
  • 22:19 - 22:22
    I ask you,
Can it belong to any particular group?
  • 22:22 - 22:26
    You say,
'No, it's not a religious group or category'.
  • 22:26 - 22:32
Can any government take hold of it?
  • 22:32 - 22:35
    'No, it cannot do that.'
  • 22:35 - 22:37
    I said, OK.
  • 22:37 - 22:43
I mean, well, was it born?
  • 22:43 - 22:47
    'No, it was not born.'
  • 22:47 - 22:52
Can I ask you, can it die? Can it die?
  • 22:52 - 22:55
[Mooji] 'Oh my gosh, can it die?'
  • 22:59 - 23:02
    [Mooji] Then I ask you,
  • 23:02 - 23:06
how long will it take you to reach it?
  • 23:06 - 23:09
    You say, 'No distance'.
  • 23:09 - 23:14
So I said, If this is the response from you,
  • 23:14 - 23:19
then what you are perceiving directly,
  • 23:19 - 23:25
what you are being aware of
    is your own being,
  • 23:25 - 23:27
    your own Self,
  • 23:27 - 23:30
    your own nature
  • 23:30 - 23:33
    in Truth.
  • 23:33 - 23:36
Can it come to an end?
  • 23:40 - 23:45
Are you in a state of hypnosis?
  • 23:45 - 23:47
    No. You see.
  • 23:47 - 23:52
So, look what you are verifying today,
  • 23:52 - 23:56
what you are verifying by yourself.
  • 23:56 - 24:00
    If you are someone
who likes to figure things out with your head,
  • 24:00 - 24:05
you're used to using your head,
right now you may feel a bit lost,
  • 24:05 - 24:10
    like, 'I don't know,
I cannot answer any of those questions'.
  • 24:10 - 24:15
But I'm happy with your responses.
  • 24:15 - 24:19
    You are, right now,
  • 24:19 - 24:25
I don't even want to say,
you are 'in contact' with it.
  • 24:25 - 24:31
Can you be separate from it?
  • 24:31 - 24:36
Then look at that. Look at that.
  • 24:36 - 24:42
For the first time, you are speaking the Truth.
  • 24:42 - 24:50
For the first time, you don't need an opinion.
  • 24:50 - 24:55
    You can see directly,
    without your physical eyes,
  • 24:55 - 24:58
    with your inner knowingness.
  • 24:58 - 25:04
Did you have to go deep, deep, deep
to find what you are seeing? No.
  • 25:07 - 25:14
[Mooji] This is the fruit of your satsang.
  • 25:14 - 25:20
Can anyone take it away from you?
  • 25:20 - 25:23
    How wonderful!
  • 25:23 - 25:26
    How wonderful!
  • 25:30 - 25:35
In what way can you be different from This?
  • 25:35 - 25:38
    [silence]
  • 25:46 - 25:56
    So, this is the fruit
    of The Invitation to Freedom.
  • 26:01 - 26:07
    So, if I say, OK,
as an exercise, it is finished!
  • 26:07 - 26:11
So, has This gone away? Has This finished?
  • 26:15 - 26:19
    [Mooji] This is true Self-discovery.
  • 26:19 - 26:22
[Mooji] This is not asking you
    the opinions of your mind,
  • 26:22 - 26:25
which today may say, 'It's like this',
  • 26:25 - 26:28
and tomorrow, 'It's not like this'.
  • 26:28 - 26:32
If I were to see you in three weeks,
  • 26:32 - 26:36
accidentally we bump into each other,
  • 26:36 - 26:39
will you have to take time to say,
  • 26:39 - 26:43
'Wait a second, this thing that you ...
I've got to try and find it'?
  • 26:43 - 26:47
    Can it hide?
  • 26:47 - 26:49
    [Mooji] Ha-ha!
  • 26:53 - 27:00
So, this is itself a joy in just looking.
  • 27:00 - 27:05
Is it merely a mental discovery?
  • 27:05 - 27:08
    No.
  • 27:08 - 27:11
    Thank you.
  • 27:11 - 27:13
    Thank you.
  • 27:13 - 27:20
    And what a joy
to watch you in your own presence,
  • 27:20 - 27:24
    resting inside your own being!
  • 27:24 - 27:28
So, suppose now, the mind comes,
  • 27:28 - 27:31
a big tsunami [mimics sound of tsunami],
  • 27:31 - 27:34
    can it disturb This?
  • 27:44 - 27:47
    [Mooji] Can This go away?
  • 27:50 - 27:55
    [Mooji] And this is all
    you need to really know.
  • 27:55 - 27:58
    Because the mind will come,
  • 27:58 - 28:03
    and it will feel like
you are hypnotised into identifying again,
  • 28:03 - 28:06
'Oh, I've lost ... Oh, I'm lost again!
  • 28:06 - 28:09
Yesterday the satsang was so good.'
  • 28:09 - 28:11
And you'll be speaking like that.
  • 28:11 - 28:18
    I call it sleep-talking,
    sleep-walking, sleep-living.
  • 28:18 - 28:22
How to wake up out of this sleep?
  • 28:22 - 28:28
Well, is This asleep or awake?
  • 28:28 - 28:33
    Beyond sleeping and awake.
  • 28:33 - 28:37
How much did you pay for it?
  • 28:44 - 28:48
    [Mooji laughs]
  • 28:48 - 28:51
[Mooji] Like this, you see. Like this.
  • 28:51 - 28:57
    And I asked you,
Are you in some hypnotic state?
  • 28:57 - 29:03
    Are you visualising the Self?
  • 29:03 - 29:06
    No, no.
  • 29:06 - 29:09
    The Self cannot be visualised.
  • 29:09 - 29:11
You may try and imagine something,
  • 29:11 - 29:14
but it will not be This.
  • 29:14 - 29:17
    This is This.
  • 29:17 - 29:20
    This you are.
  • 29:20 - 29:22
    And at the same time,
  • 29:22 - 29:26
    we were given
    the opportunity and the experience
  • 29:26 - 29:31
to identify with this instrumental body,
  • 29:31 - 29:36
    in order to taste
the sense of being a separate private person,
  • 29:36 - 29:40
who learns things through our mind,
  • 29:40 - 29:45
    who experiences interrelated opposites,
    and all the emotions.
  • 29:45 - 29:48
We are meant to experience everything!
  • 29:48 - 29:51
To experience the sense of fear,
  • 29:51 - 29:53
the sense of the fear of dying,
  • 29:53 - 29:55
    sometimes the fear of living,
  • 29:55 - 29:59
experience to be without important things,
  • 29:59 - 30:02
    experience to be afraid,
  • 30:02 - 30:04
    experience to be in love,
  • 30:04 - 30:06
    experience to be alone,
  • 30:06 - 30:11
    experience to be hungry,
  • 30:11 - 30:13
all these things we must experience.
  • 30:13 - 30:16
We must experience, not as a punishment,
  • 30:16 - 30:21
    but because consciousness
    wanted to, needed to explore,
  • 30:21 - 30:32
    to experience the diversity
of its capacity to manifest differences.
  • 30:32 - 30:34
    Understand that.
  • 30:34 - 30:37
    But understand that,
  • 30:37 - 30:41
    That does not need
    to stop in its manifestation.
  • 30:41 - 30:44
But now, as you bring your attention
  • 30:44 - 30:49
to be present, and to be one with,
  • 30:49 - 30:54
is your attention separate from This?
  • 30:57 - 31:01
    We know ...
This is a bit of a subtle question.
  • 31:01 - 31:05
    Because it seems as though,
when the attention turns towards the mind,
  • 31:05 - 31:09
and the sense of identity and so on,
  • 31:09 - 31:13
    whole different experiences
    are coming into play.
  • 31:13 - 31:16
    And those experiences are believed
  • 31:16 - 31:19
on the basis of personal identity.
  • 31:19 - 31:24
    And whenever
we go into the state of personal identity,
  • 31:24 - 31:30
    it is as though
the identity eclipses your natural knowing
  • 31:30 - 31:33
that you have just been sharing with me,
  • 31:33 - 31:36
    and you start
to speak from the place of the person,
  • 31:36 - 31:40
    which I call the mask
  • 31:40 - 31:43
that appears as though it can cover the Self.
  • 31:43 - 31:50
    Can anything cover the Self?
    I'm asking this question now.
  • 31:50 - 31:56
Yet, through the mind it appears
as though the Self was an experience,
  • 31:56 - 31:59
and now it has gone, 'I cannot find it'.
  • 31:59 - 32:01
    And the 'I' who says,
  • 32:01 - 32:06
'Oh, the Self, the experience is gone,
I don't know what to do',
  • 32:06 - 32:09
    this 'I', that is appearing,
  • 32:09 - 32:16
    is also appearing
in the same space of awareness that you are.
  • 32:16 - 32:23
    But you forget
because attention goes into identity as a person.
  • 32:23 - 32:30
As you spend time to verify,
    to marinate in that seeing,
  • 32:30 - 32:34
    which is your Truth,
  • 32:34 - 32:42
    it will become increasingly clear
    how the mistake is made.
  • 32:42 - 32:46
    Now, can I ask you?
    The exercise is finished.
  • 32:46 - 32:51
For now the exercise is finished, OK?
    Has it gone?
  • 32:51 - 32:53
    The Self, has it gone?
  • 32:55 - 33:01
[Mooji] I'll keep checking in with you,
    if it has gone.
  • 33:01 - 33:03
[M.] Suppose you had the ability ...
  • 33:03 - 33:06
I can ask you this question, we can play.
  • 33:06 - 33:08
Suppose you could go into a spaceship
  • 33:08 - 33:14
and travel to a very, very distant planet.
    Will it not be there?
  • 33:14 - 33:17
    Can you leave your Self?
  • 33:17 - 33:20
    This is the thing.
  • 33:20 - 33:24
    And how simple, simple.
  • 33:24 - 33:30
And yet, what a mystery that
    the mind movement comes,
  • 33:30 - 33:33
and it's as though we get hypnotised
  • 33:33 - 33:37
into becoming a finite thing again.
  • 33:37 - 33:41
So, you are going to get used to this.
  • 33:41 - 33:46
You have received in yourself, by yourself,
  • 33:46 - 33:50
    the grace of real seeing.
  • 33:50 - 33:54
    And even though
    some distortion, some distractedness
  • 33:54 - 33:56
may come and play for a while,
  • 33:56 - 33:58
it will get weaker and weaker,
  • 33:58 - 34:05
    as you continue
to affirm and confirm your true seeing.
  • 34:05 - 34:10
This is how powerful it is!
  • 34:10 - 34:12
    How powerful it is.
  • 34:12 - 34:17
So, it was very good for me
    to share this with you,
  • 34:17 - 34:24
    in your presence, you came,
    and because of you, somehow,
  • 34:24 - 34:31
    I have been able
    to introduce again The Invitation.
  • 34:31 - 34:39
[Mooji] And this, when I ask you,
    and I ask everybody,
  • 34:39 - 34:43
can you ever not be This?
  • 34:47 - 34:49
    You can take your time.
  • 34:49 - 34:52
    You can take your time.
  • 34:56 - 34:58
    Wonderful!
  • 34:58 - 35:02
So, thank you Nupur and Nisheeth.
    Thank you.
  • 35:02 - 35:07
[M.] Wonderful for now, it's very good.
    [Q.1] Thank you, Guruji.
  • 35:07 - 35:09
    [M.] Wonderful, wonderful!
  • 35:09 - 35:13
    [Q.2] Thank you, Guruji.
[Q.1] We love you so much, Guruji.
  • 35:13 - 35:15
    [M.] Wonderful, wonderful! Beautiful!
  • 35:15 - 35:19
    [M.] Thank you, thank you.
    [Q.2] Love you, Guruji.
  • 35:19 - 35:24
[Mooji] Let's take a moment, just to ...
    I don't know.
  • 35:24 - 35:27
Even if I say, to be with This, it's OK.
  • 35:27 - 35:31
I can say, be with This.
  • 35:31 - 35:35
    Because of the language,
    of conditioning and habit,
  • 35:35 - 35:38
I have to say, be with This.
  • 35:38 - 35:42
    But actually, you are This.
  • 35:42 - 35:48
    You are more This
than any person you previously thought you were.
  • 35:48 - 35:51
And you may say that you are your person too,
  • 35:51 - 35:53
but that's a much more superficial state,
  • 35:53 - 35:57
because one day you are like this,
    and another day like that.
  • 35:57 - 36:00
    Another day like this.
    Another day like that.
  • 36:00 - 36:06
But from this place, if I ask you,
    you will not say,
  • 36:06 - 36:10
    'Oh, yesterday I was different
    from how I am today'.
  • 36:10 - 36:15
Because it is not a mood, it is not a feeling,
  • 36:15 - 36:19
    it is not an abstraction,
    it is not a visualisation,
  • 36:19 - 36:22
it is not a product of imagination,
  • 36:22 - 36:24
    it is not a belief,
  • 36:24 - 36:29
    it is not an object.
  • 36:29 - 36:32
    It simply is.
  • 36:38 - 36:44
    Pay attention just to This.
  • 36:44 - 36:48
In what direction can you look
    where This is no more?
  • 36:58 - 37:00
    Wonderful!
  • 37:00 - 37:05
You know, there will come a moment, a time,
  • 37:05 - 37:11
when having come to this recognition,
    this realisation,
  • 37:11 - 37:15
and I say, we have to stabilise in it,
  • 37:15 - 37:19
    because this 'me' factor,
this 'I' factor, this 'we' factor,
  • 37:19 - 37:26
    which seems to admit
to a sort of personal identity,
  • 37:26 - 37:28
    that sense of,
  • 37:28 - 37:33
'Yes, I came back to my Self',
and 'I go away from my Self',
  • 37:33 - 37:36
will feel natural for a while,
    to keep saying that,
  • 37:36 - 37:38
    but maybe, something changes.
  • 37:38 - 37:40
    Maybe whenever you feel,
  • 37:40 - 37:44
    'You know what,
    I don't know what I like anymore'.
  • 37:44 - 37:48
    You will hear that
within the wider space of your true being,
  • 37:48 - 37:53
and you may just laugh to yourself
    and say, 'What is that?'
  • 37:53 - 37:55
    [Mooji laughs]
  • 37:55 - 37:59
You may just catch yourself laughing,
    'Who was that?'
  • 38:03 - 38:08
'Who is making all these decisions?
  • 38:08 - 38:12
Who is suffering all these moods?'
  • 38:16 - 38:21
So, this is the power of self-inquiry
  • 38:21 - 38:23
    now presented in the form,
  • 38:23 - 38:28
in the simple form of 'Invitation to Freedom',
    I call it like that.
  • 38:28 - 38:31
    And it is with you.
  • 38:31 - 38:35
What is 'It is with you'?
    Is that really true?
  • 38:35 - 38:38
Is the Self with you? Who are you?
  • 38:42 - 38:48
    How much distance is there
between you and the true Self?
  • 38:48 - 38:50
    So, what we are experiencing
  • 38:50 - 38:53
is the natural sense of separateness
  • 38:53 - 38:56
that comes with years and years of living
  • 38:56 - 39:00
in the notion of being this person.
  • 39:00 - 39:04
    And the personal identity
will feel a bit left out.
  • 39:04 - 39:08
Like, 'Oh, so you want to leave me now'.
  • 39:08 - 39:12
So sometimes it comes back, and it may create,
  • 39:12 - 39:17
it seems experientially, in the mind,
    like some kind of tantrum,
  • 39:17 - 39:20
some sort of distortion of perception,
  • 39:20 - 39:24
[M.] 'My mind just won't stop',
and all this type of stuff.
  • 39:24 - 39:28
For a little bit it may happen.
  • 39:28 - 39:32
    But has anything happened here?
  • 39:37 - 39:41
    I'm looking at you.
  • 39:41 - 39:43
    I'm looking at you, Dee.
  • 39:47 - 39:50
[Mooji] I'm looking at you, Michael.
  • 39:50 - 39:55
[Mooji] I'm looking at you, Yam and Joel,
  • 39:55 - 39:58
and Henrique, and Donna, each of you,
  • 39:58 - 40:05
Duong, Sandy, Julian, Maureen, all of you.
  • 40:08 - 40:14
    When will This be lost,
and what will remove this knowing?
  • 40:14 - 40:18
    [Mooji] So, what is called
    the realisation of the Self?
  • 40:18 - 40:21
[Mooji] Is that the sense of division
  • 40:21 - 40:25
between yourself in the mind and person,
  • 40:25 - 40:28
and the Self which is unchanging?
  • 40:28 - 40:35
    Somehow, something merges,
the shallow idea of the self,
  • 40:35 - 40:37
    of the personal self,
  • 40:37 - 40:44
is merging in the natural being,
    more and more.
  • 40:44 - 40:46
Are you going to look different?
  • 40:46 - 40:50
    Well, if you look different,
    it's going to be better.
  • 40:50 - 40:52
It's going to be a face
  • 40:52 - 40:57
    which is not carrying
the reading of stress, and anxiety,
  • 40:57 - 41:03
and fear, and desire, and neediness. No.
  • 41:03 - 41:07
It will be, what I call, you without 'you'.
  • 41:07 - 41:14
    Meaning, without all that stuff,
    stuff, stuffing, stuffy.
  • 41:18 - 41:22
And often, when I see people in satsang,
  • 41:22 - 41:27
I have a sense, I'm seeing your true face.
  • 41:27 - 41:29
    What is a true face?
  • 41:29 - 41:34
Not the face of your thoughts,
    and attachments, and fears,
  • 41:34 - 41:40
    but the face, the feature,
the countenance of your pure being,
  • 41:40 - 41:47
    radiant, silent, peaceful, wise.
  • 41:47 - 41:51
    Don't try to be that!
    Don't try. It doesn't work.
  • 41:51 - 41:53
Because the one trying to be that ...
  • 41:53 - 41:58
Already you've been tricked into being a person
    trying to be that.
  • 41:58 - 42:02
When I asked you to look,
    you made a discovery,
  • 42:02 - 42:06
    not an invention.
  • 42:06 - 42:10
So, that is the power of your looking.
  • 42:10 - 42:15
    There will come a time,
    when just this is enough.
  • 42:15 - 42:17
Just this is like a reminder,
  • 42:17 - 42:21
    why are you speaking
as though you are this person?
  • 42:21 - 42:26
And you'll go, 'Phew! Thank you.
Thank you, thank you, Mooji! Thank you!'
  • 42:26 - 42:28
You see, 'I was distracted for a moment'.
  • 42:28 - 42:33
We are largely suffering from distraction,
  • 42:33 - 42:40
    distractedness from our central being.
  • 42:40 - 42:43
This is a kind of paradox.
  • 42:43 - 42:48
    But gradually, you may say,
'How can I make the two merge together?'
  • 42:48 - 42:51
    Where are you speaking from?
    Who asks this?
  • 42:51 - 42:56
So, I say, just by sitting, being at one with,
  • 42:56 - 43:03
    which means that your already-ness
    being in natural recognition,
  • 43:03 - 43:07
    confirmed through direct seeing,
  • 43:07 - 43:10
    a non-dual seeing ...
  • 43:10 - 43:14
By this resting in the awareness,
  • 43:14 - 43:20
all the troubles, all the complicatedness,
    all the to-do lists,
  • 43:20 - 43:23
soften down and merge in being.
  • 43:23 - 43:27
    And you will find, spontaneously,
  • 43:27 - 43:32
    your responding actions,
    reactions, interactions
  • 43:32 - 43:37
are seen to be and experienced to be
    happening spontaneously.
  • 43:37 - 43:40
    Trust this!
  • 43:40 - 43:42
So why do I say trust it?
  • 43:42 - 43:45
    Because through the mind,
    sometimes you may think,
  • 43:45 - 43:50
'I can't deal with the world
    by simply being here'.
  • 43:50 - 43:52
    That's another trick!
  • 43:52 - 43:54
'I can't be! I have so many things to do!
  • 43:54 - 43:57
    I'm under so many pressures!'
  • 43:57 - 44:01
    That's going back
into the old regime of identity.
  • 44:01 - 44:04
Learn to be quiet with yourself.
  • 44:04 - 44:09
    Don't go with reactions
when they come from the mind.
  • 44:09 - 44:11
    You'll begin to know this.
  • 44:11 - 44:15
I could sit here and talk about it
for a long time, but I will not.
  • 44:15 - 44:17
Because it doesn't work like that.
  • 44:17 - 44:22
What works is you paying attention
just to the sense of being.
  • 44:22 - 44:26
    It may seem oversimplistic,
    or even naive to you,
  • 44:26 - 44:32
but what a power will come out of this!
  • 44:32 - 44:37
    So, can I take it,
while I'm sitting here with you, and all of you,
  • 44:37 - 44:48
    that a natural sense
of being loyal to your Truth
  • 44:48 - 44:52
    is felt inside your Heart?
  • 44:52 - 44:56
You don't have to go somewhere else for that.
    Wherever you are.
  • 44:56 - 44:59
Sometimes you may have to step aside
  • 44:59 - 45:03
from the traffic of worldly noise,
    for a moment,
  • 45:03 - 45:08
    just to sit
and clarify your mind in your being again.
  • 45:08 - 45:12
It may be five minutes, just to sit.
  • 45:12 - 45:14
And as you learn to do this,
  • 45:14 - 45:17
you'll find that you are naturally attracted
  • 45:17 - 45:21
to staying and honouring yourself in this way.
  • 45:21 - 45:24
If somebody asks you, 'What are you doing?'
  • 45:24 - 45:27
    Don't say,
'I'm trying to be one with myself'.
  • 45:27 - 45:31
    Don't talk like that
because people will think you're crazy!
  • 45:31 - 45:34
    Just say,
'I'm just taking a moment to sit quietly'.
  • 45:34 - 45:37
    You don't have to go
    and tell anybody anything.
  • 45:37 - 45:40
I'm not turning you into evangelists.
  • 45:40 - 45:43
I'm telling you, just to rest in your being,
  • 45:43 - 45:46
and find the power of this. OK?
  • 45:46 - 45:52
And how beautiful, how impactful this will be!
  • 45:52 - 45:54
I cannot say in what area of your life.
  • 45:54 - 45:59
    Sometimes, the people
who you are used to being close with
  • 45:59 - 46:03
    may not understand you,
because we all have a picture of each other.
  • 46:03 - 46:05
    And when someone changes
  • 46:05 - 46:08
    from the shape
you're used to seeing them through,
  • 46:08 - 46:10
    something doesn't like it.
  • 46:10 - 46:15
We want to see you back in the old shape
that's in the mind of people.
  • 46:15 - 46:17
    So don't worry about that.
  • 46:17 - 46:21
    Don't try too hard
    to make people understand anything.
  • 46:21 - 46:25
But you will find that you're able to be kind,
  • 46:25 - 46:27
    and without judgement,
  • 46:27 - 46:31
that you have a deep natural confidence,
  • 46:31 - 46:34
    not an egoic confidence,
  • 46:34 - 46:39
and a peacefulness about you that is undeniable.
  • 46:39 - 46:42
    Sometimes, some people are intimidated
  • 46:42 - 46:45
by the presence of someone who is awake.
  • 46:45 - 46:48
    It's a superficial response.
  • 46:48 - 46:52
    Or someone who is deepening
    in their Self-discovery.
  • 46:52 - 46:56
    You may find that
you expect that people are going to notice this,
  • 46:56 - 46:58
and want to say nice things to you.
  • 46:58 - 47:01
But you might be surprised that people go,
  • 47:01 - 47:04
'Who do you think you are?'
    And this kind of stuff.
  • 47:04 - 47:09
    And don't say anything clever.
    Just stay inside your Heart.
  • 47:09 - 47:13
Even though you might feel that
    you're being tested,
  • 47:13 - 47:18
just stay with what you are, like this.
  • 47:18 - 47:21
And your actions that flow from awareness,
  • 47:21 - 47:25
they always have a deep power,
  • 47:25 - 47:27
    a beautiful quality about them.
  • 47:27 - 47:31
So, I have all these letters to go through.
  • 47:31 - 47:35
I think I have answered all of them
    in just this invitation.
  • 47:35 - 47:39
    To be honest with you,
I could go through and read,
  • 47:39 - 47:45
    there are some beautiful letters,
    but we have surpassed them.
  • 47:45 - 47:49
    We have surpassed!
If I have to answer this one,
  • 47:49 - 47:53
I think, maybe you need to take
a bit more time away from work,
  • 47:53 - 47:56
and give a bit more energy to this.
  • 47:56 - 47:58
Say, 'No, we don't have to go into that!'
  • 47:58 - 48:02
Just you stay in This, honour This,
  • 48:02 - 48:07
and you're going to find that
    your life becomes magical!
  • 48:07 - 48:10
One's life has to be magical.
  • 48:10 - 48:15
    But not from your mind,
'I've got to try to make my life ...' No!
  • 48:15 - 48:20
Because the God-life, the real life is magical!
  • 48:20 - 48:24
Don't try to be too predictable
    and too consistent.
  • 48:24 - 48:27
These are things that the mind is trying to be.
  • 48:27 - 48:31
    There's something unpredictable
    about someone who's really alive.
  • 48:31 - 48:36
Meaning, unpredictable in the sense that
    they always surprise you,
  • 48:36 - 48:39
    and they're always surprising themself,
    if I can say that.
  • 48:39 - 48:42
It's not true, you don't surprise yourself.
  • 48:42 - 48:45
When you are at peace with yourself,
  • 48:45 - 48:50
something is in a deep sense of acceptance,
    and you find your way.
  • 48:50 - 48:54
And this is what is beautiful
    about today's Satsang with you,
  • 48:54 - 48:57
I'm not giving you a lot of instructions.
  • 48:57 - 49:00
I'm just pointing you back to your Self.
  • 49:00 - 49:05
    Everything is already with you
    in your natural being.
  • 49:05 - 49:10
    Begin to enjoy
    the adventure of Self-discovering,
  • 49:10 - 49:15
and the fruits that come from this.
  • 49:15 - 49:17
    Just be with this.
  • 49:17 - 49:20
    Your mind might say,
'I wanted you to answer my question'.
  • 49:20 - 49:23
Don't go backwards. You are here.
  • 49:23 - 49:26
I'm not even going to ask you to go forward.
  • 49:26 - 49:29
    Stay in your silence.
  • 49:29 - 49:32
The Self is not behind, or before.
  • 49:32 - 49:38
It is always ever-present, and it is unlimited.
  • 49:38 - 49:44
I hold all of you inside my Heart,
I tell you this, because we have met.
  • 49:44 - 49:48
    And we have met
in the truest way human beings can meet,
  • 49:48 - 49:50
    in the truest way.
  • 49:50 - 49:53
I've not come to talk to you about football,
  • 49:53 - 49:58
or politics in the United States.
I'm not going to talk about this.
  • 49:58 - 50:00
This is too, too, too high for this!
  • 50:00 - 50:03
This is too high for this. OK?
  • 50:03 - 50:06
    You will find your way.
  • 50:06 - 50:08
    You will find your way
  • 50:08 - 50:11
because you are not being guided anymore
  • 50:11 - 50:16
by the torch light of the mind,
  • 50:16 - 50:22
but by the radiance of the Heart,
    and it is beautiful!
  • 50:22 - 50:25
Are you going to make mistakes? Seemingly.
  • 50:25 - 50:29
    You will find seeming mistakes,
but guess what, it's not a big deal.
  • 50:29 - 50:37
They will all be, sort of,
what I may call, growth hormones.
  • 50:37 - 50:48
    They will help you
to discover deeper things in your being.
  • 50:48 - 50:52
[Mooji] How are you feeling, guys?
  • 50:52 - 50:56
[Mooji] Yes, of course, of course!
    I'm not surprised.
  • 50:56 - 51:00
    [Mooji] Of course, of course!
  • 51:07 - 51:09
But there's going to come a time
  • 51:09 - 51:14
when you won't mind about how you're feeling,
  • 51:14 - 51:17
if the feelings are coming from the mind,
  • 51:17 - 51:20
and you will know the difference.
  • 51:20 - 51:22
    There are pure feelings
  • 51:22 - 51:26
    which are arising
out of the perfume of your own being.
  • 51:26 - 51:28
You don't have to plan for those.
  • 51:28 - 51:33
    Spontaneously, it is as though
    you're kissed from within,
  • 51:33 - 51:35
    and you feel like, 'Phew'.
  • 51:35 - 51:39
You're lifted above the clouds of the mind.
  • 51:39 - 51:46
    But this is just
part of the display of the spontaneity,
  • 51:46 - 51:54
    the range of expressions
    arising from the true nature.
  • 51:54 - 52:02
And this is where, in some mysterious way,
  • 52:02 - 52:10
you cannot explain this beautiful transforming,
  • 52:10 - 52:15
    this beautiful grounding.
  • 52:15 - 52:21
    And as I said before,
You don't have to explain it.
  • 52:21 - 52:26
You don't have to write a thesis about it.
  • 52:26 - 52:35
It is just the fragrance of your own being.
  • 52:35 - 52:40
What am I going to do with these letters?
    I don't know.
  • 52:46 - 52:54
    How often I have waited
    for this kind of opportunity!
  • 52:54 - 52:57
    I always find myself ...
  • 52:57 - 53:04
Because it's the highest way I can be with you.
  • 53:04 - 53:08
    Don't feel that somehow,
    you have unanswered questions.
  • 53:08 - 53:11
    You'll probably find what?
    Your questions are not solved,
  • 53:11 - 53:18
    they are dissolved
by the light of your own presence.
  • 53:18 - 53:25
How often I've longed to be with you,
    like this, like this.
  • 53:25 - 53:30
    So, if the mind comes,
'Yes, but I wanted you to talk about this',
  • 53:30 - 53:33
'Please tell me a bit more
    about reincarnation',
  • 53:33 - 53:35
    'What happens after this?'
  • 53:35 - 53:39
    No, no, please, please, please,
    don't belittle yourself.
  • 53:39 - 53:41
    Don't belittle yourself.
  • 53:41 - 53:44
Remain in the height of your being.
  • 53:44 - 53:47
Remain in the height of your being,
  • 53:47 - 53:50
and you will know everything is fine!
  • 53:50 - 53:54
Leave it to God. Everything is fine!
  • 53:54 - 53:57
    Continue growing inwardly.
  • 53:57 - 54:00
    This is true aliveness!
  • 54:00 - 54:03
    This is true life.
  • 54:03 - 54:07
    And it's you.
  • 54:07 - 54:11
I'm not telling you any compliments.
    You don't need compliments.
  • 54:11 - 54:16
Truth is enough! Truth is enough.
  • 54:16 - 54:20
    I'm not flattering you.
  • 54:20 - 54:24
I'm telling you, and I'm showing you,
  • 54:24 - 54:29
and you are discovering for yourself
    what is here.
  • 54:33 - 54:36
    Honour This.
  • 54:36 - 54:40
We have an old saying, 'Abide in This'.
  • 54:40 - 54:42
    This is Grace.
  • 54:42 - 54:47
This is being in God's presence, directly.
  • 54:47 - 54:52
    This is walking in Truth.
  • 54:52 - 54:57
So, I'm very happy for this evening's satsang.
  • 55:02 - 55:07
    I see that ...
  • 55:07 - 55:12
    I don't know. Maybe I can try a question.
But it may not happen. OK?
  • 55:12 - 55:14
    It may not happen.
  • 55:14 - 55:17
I'm just going to look and see.
  • 55:17 - 55:20
    Because by the ...
  • 55:20 - 55:23
    [silence]
  • 55:48 - 55:51
For instance, I'm looking at this.
  • 55:51 - 55:53
I won't say who. She knows.
  • 55:53 - 55:57
    'Dearest Mooji,
the pandemic has allowed me more time
  • 55:57 - 56:00
to deepen the recognition of That,
    which you point to.'
  • 56:00 - 56:03
    That you have discovered.
  • 56:03 - 56:08
'This, in turn, is giving me
a clearer view of what I'm not,
  • 56:08 - 56:11
    for which I'm most grateful.'
    Wonderful!
  • 56:11 - 56:15
    'One of the things that
has come into view through this
  • 56:15 - 56:19
is the pull of distraction away from the Self.'
  • 56:19 - 56:25
    The attention of the mind
can be like 'away from the Self'.
  • 56:25 - 56:29
So tell me now, which direction can you go
  • 56:29 - 56:33
to be away from the Self, in Truth?
  • 56:33 - 56:38
I'm just asking an open question. OK?
  • 56:38 - 56:43
    When you had a placement,
  • 56:43 - 56:48
    a very physical identity that
    was being honoured,
  • 56:48 - 56:53
    then relative to that identity
    in place and time,
  • 56:53 - 56:57
you can say, 'I'm moving away from something,
    I'm distracted away'.
  • 56:57 - 57:02
But when you are discovering the Self,
    which is everywhere,
  • 57:02 - 57:04
    and it is not imagination,
  • 57:04 - 57:09
you are in direct oneness with your seeing.
  • 57:09 - 57:11
    Simply be with that.
  • 57:11 - 57:15
    If I were to say,
oh, well, try to do this. Try!
  • 57:15 - 57:18
    You have accomplished it.
  • 57:18 - 57:23
    Now, honour it.
  • 57:23 - 57:25
    How to honour it?
  • 57:25 - 57:28
    Don't go out
looking for how to honour the Self.
  • 57:28 - 57:33
    The mind will show you
when you need to honour your Self.
  • 57:33 - 57:37
    Do you follow?
The mind itself will come to show you,
  • 57:37 - 57:39
'Now you need to honour your Self
  • 57:39 - 57:44
because every time you turn to me
    I'm going to bite you!'
  • 57:44 - 57:46
He's going to tell you like that.
  • 57:46 - 57:50
    Every time you turn
and start to pick up the 'How to do',
  • 57:50 - 57:52
and 'What not to do', and stuff,
  • 57:52 - 57:57
    you're going to find that
it bites you with confusion, with anxieties.
  • 57:57 - 57:59
Stay as the Self. Keep quiet.
  • 57:59 - 58:03
If something needs to be known,
    don't be in a rush.
  • 58:03 - 58:06
    Wait on God's timing.
  • 58:06 - 58:12
God's timing is very, very in tune
    with your Heart vibration.
  • 58:12 - 58:14
    Don't worry.
  • 58:14 - 58:17
    Don't listen
to the mind's assessment of your life,
  • 58:17 - 58:20
    or anybody else's life.
  • 58:20 - 58:26
    Learn to be one
with your own silence and being.
  • 58:26 - 58:28
    And don't imagine that
  • 58:28 - 58:32
    somehow you're suppressing something.
    Suppressing! No.
  • 58:32 - 58:35
You don't have to suppress the mind.
    You can control him.
  • 58:35 - 58:39
    Meaning that you see,
the energy wants to go there,
  • 58:39 - 58:43
but you know through your intuition,
  • 58:43 - 58:49
you know through your sensibility that
    it is not truthful.
  • 58:49 - 58:54
    It's just out of habit,
    or addiction, or neediness.
  • 58:54 - 58:56
    So when you pay attention,
  • 58:56 - 59:00
rather than fighting the mind, or resisting,
    remember your Self.
  • 59:00 - 59:04
Be back into your Heart again,
and see, what does awareness want?
  • 59:04 - 59:07
What does awareness want, and from who?
  • 59:07 - 59:11
    And you will find,
everything is flowing again, and out.
  • 59:11 - 59:16
And I would love that, as these days continue,
  • 59:16 - 59:20
    and life continues to unfold
    in its natural unfolding,
  • 59:20 - 59:27
    that in some way
I would love to be in touch with you,
  • 59:27 - 59:29
and to see how you're doing.
  • 59:29 - 59:34
And I want to tell you something.
    It's going to be mysterious!
  • 59:34 - 59:38
    [Mooji laughs]
It's going to be mysterious! Yes.
  • 59:38 - 59:40
[Mooji] You will see. You will see.
  • 59:40 - 59:44
[Mooji] By the grace of God, you will see!
  • 59:44 - 59:48
    [Mooji] So, my beloved ones,
  • 59:54 - 59:58
we are happy together in this One.
  • 59:58 - 60:01
    [silence]
  • 60:12 - 60:16
May I ask you another question?
  • 60:16 - 60:20
    In this awareness,
  • 60:20 - 60:26
    what time is it there?
  • 60:26 - 60:33
    What season?
  • 60:33 - 60:38
This is what I call divine intelligence.
  • 60:38 - 60:43
It's not working like the earthly mind.
  • 60:48 - 60:53
Whatever you do, wherever you are,
  • 60:53 - 61:00
    everything is taking place
in this realm of being, you can say.
  • 61:00 - 61:04
    It doesn't matter what,
whether it goes fast or slow, up or down.
  • 61:04 - 61:07
It's all a movement in the mind,
  • 61:07 - 61:11
arising in the unchanging awareness Self.
  • 61:15 - 61:19
    You are in the God-zone.
  • 61:19 - 61:22
    [silence]
  • 61:31 - 61:37
And such peace is going to keep arising in you,
  • 61:37 - 61:45
    such joy, unmerited.
  • 61:45 - 61:48
    Such aliveness.
  • 61:48 - 61:51
    [silence]
  • 62:01 - 62:04
The Self can never leave you.
  • 62:04 - 62:08
    Everything will come and go
    because of consciousness,
  • 62:08 - 62:11
playing in and out, like clouds floating by
  • 62:11 - 62:16
in the infinite expanse of the sky, unchanging.
  • 62:16 - 62:20
You will notice this to your increasing joy.
  • 62:20 - 62:25
    I tell you this thing.
  • 62:25 - 62:29
Nobody can know you, even personally.
  • 62:29 - 62:35
Everyone has only a view, a perspective,
    and it's not stable.
  • 62:35 - 62:38
    Thank God. It's OK.
  • 62:38 - 62:43
But This is not a mental knowing.
  • 62:43 - 62:49
    It's a non-dual awareness.
  • 62:49 - 62:53
    Be with it,
  • 62:53 - 62:58
and you will be truly in love,
  • 62:58 - 63:02
    a non-dual love.
  • 63:02 - 63:08
    Whatever you do
    through the intention of personhood,
  • 63:08 - 63:11
    it's never fully successful.
  • 63:11 - 63:16
But here you move because love compels you,
  • 63:16 - 63:20
the grace of God guides you.
  • 63:20 - 63:22
And more and more you'll find that
  • 63:22 - 63:26
the sense of separation and distance
  • 63:26 - 63:30
    is reducing and reducing.
  • 63:30 - 63:35
    The sense of feeling
alienated and separate from the core,
  • 63:35 - 63:41
    from God, from Truth,
    is reducing, reducing, reducing.
  • 63:41 - 63:47
And you will not even know when they meet.
  • 63:47 - 63:53
You are already in your Oneness.
  • 63:53 - 63:56
    Thank you.
  • 63:56 - 63:58
    Thank you.
  • 63:58 - 64:03
And love you, love you, love you,
    love you, love you.
  • 64:03 - 64:08
    [Mooji] You have given me
    a beautiful evening, also!
  • 64:14 - 64:18
Can it really be this simple?
  • 64:18 - 64:21
Can it really be this simple?
  • 64:21 - 64:25
    Yes, yes.
  • 64:29 - 64:32
    [Mooji laughs]
  • 64:37 - 64:43
Yes, you are the embodiment of love itself.
  • 64:50 - 64:53
    I'm sharing this with you,
  • 64:53 - 64:58
you are the embodiment of love itself.
  • 64:58 - 65:03
But you will still have to hold fast.
  • 65:03 - 65:05
You'll still have to pay attention,
  • 65:05 - 65:08
not go to sleep in the mind.
  • 65:08 - 65:10
You have to keep on confirming,
  • 65:10 - 65:13
every time the mind comes to test you.
  • 65:13 - 65:18
    Remember, it's not testing you
    so that you shall fail,
  • 65:18 - 65:25
but that you need to develop
    the muscles of discernment.
  • 65:25 - 65:29
You are winning your Self back.
  • 65:29 - 65:31
    At times, when you feel,
  • 65:31 - 65:36
'I'm not as strong as I was yesterday',
    it is a feeling,
  • 65:36 - 65:38
but don't give it too much.
  • 65:38 - 65:41
    Just go back immediately.
  • 65:41 - 65:43
    Pay attention to your Heart,
  • 65:43 - 65:49
and see what your Heart has to say about it.
  • 65:49 - 65:52
So, thank you, thank you, thank you.
  • 65:52 - 65:57
I'm going to spend a few moments
just to sit in silence with you,
  • 65:57 - 66:02
so I can just keep bathing in your presence,
  • 66:02 - 66:06
registering your presence in my heart.
  • 66:06 - 66:09
    [silence]
  • 66:35 - 66:39
I had this feeling, at a certain point.
  • 66:39 - 66:43
    Have I left anything out?
  • 66:43 - 66:47
Because I had so many, so many letters.
  • 66:47 - 66:57
I thought, How am I going to reach each one?
  • 66:57 - 67:02
Then I checked in, and I've left nothing out!
  • 67:07 - 67:11
And yet, I'm not keeping anything at all,
  • 67:11 - 67:13
just like you can be right now.
  • 67:13 - 67:17
    Don't be holding onto anything,
    to any shape at all.
  • 67:17 - 67:21
    Remain shapeless.
  • 67:21 - 67:24
    [silence]
  • 67:32 - 67:37
    This is just for you.
