I invite you to my talk about the fascinating phenomenon of diminutives in the Spanish language. You will learn how they are formed and used in different regions of Spain and some parts of Hispanic America. ¡Hasta lueguito!
Sonia Maćkowiak is a Spanish teacher and Spanish Linguistics PhD candidate. She is originally from Poznań (Poland), but lives in Madrid. She speaks Polish, English, Spanish, Portuguese and French. During her 10-year career as an English and Spanish teacher, she has worked in Poland, Spain and the UK. The objective of her PhD research is to create a panoramic view of the geographical distribution of diminutive suffixes in Spain and Hispanic America based on the maps in Atlas Lingüísticos.
