    Hello, RINA here.
  • 0:03 - 0:05
Today, we're setting up for my exhibition.
  • 0:06 - 0:11
I'll be creating all kinds of spaces!
  • 0:11 - 0:12
    Can't wait.
  • 0:14 - 0:19
First, to hang the 23 collages.
  • 0:21 - 0:25
    This is how they're framed.
  • 0:26 - 0:28
    This looks good.
  • 0:28 - 0:31
It's better that people don't have to look up too far.
  • 0:36 - 0:39
The spots they'll be hung has been decided.
  • 0:41 - 0:43
We'll be putting them up now.
  • 0:43 - 0:47
I also bought fragrance to be sprayed in the venue.
  • 0:47 - 0:50
I got it at LE LABO in Daikanyama.
  • 0:53 - 0:55
This is what it looks like.
  • 0:55 - 0:58
I had them put the exhibition's title on it.
  • 0:58 - 1:03
A nice fragrance will greet those coming.
  • 1:03 - 1:06
    Setting up the sales corner.
  • 1:18 - 1:23
I'm going to make the price card for the merch.
  • 1:23 - 1:29
The prices are printed on the same tracing paper used for when I arranged the zines,
  • 1:29 - 1:31
    and I'll tear them out.
  • 1:32 - 1:37
I did so much tearing for the zines that I've gotten really good at tearing.
  • 1:39 - 1:41
I've gotten the hang of it.
  • 1:44 - 1:46
I'm going to cut the fabric too.
  • 1:51 - 1:54
    Here they are all finished.
  • 1:56 - 1:59
I also made all kinds of merch.
  • 1:59 - 2:04
The newly arranged zine that I showed on YouTube previously,
  • 2:04 - 2:08
and postcards featuring my favorite collages.
  • 2:09 - 2:11
One, two, three, four, five types.
  • 2:11 - 2:18
This is a sticker sheet where you can cut out your own stickers.
  • 2:20 - 2:24
A mirror, which I'm also using.
  • 2:24 - 2:26
A pouch you can use in a bunch of different ways.
  • 2:26 - 2:29
I'm using this as a makeup pouch.
  • 2:29 - 2:31
    A clear plastic file.
  • 2:31 - 2:33
That's what the merch looks like.
  • 2:33 - 2:34
    T-shirts, too.
  • 2:37 - 2:40
The title is on the front.
  • 2:44 - 2:47
These will also be sold after the exhibition ends,
  • 2:47 - 2:51
so those who weren't able to come, please check them out.
  • 3:07 - 3:10
We'll be hanging these up now.
  • 3:32 - 3:38
    So, they're titled like, "Day 1," "Day 2, "Day 3, "Day 4."
  • 3:38 - 3:43
They're titled in order of the day I made them in.
  • 3:51 - 3:53
    More?
  • 3:53 - 3:55
-Can you make it a little tighter?
    -Yes.
  • 3:55 - 3:56
    Thank you very much.
  • 3:56 - 3:58
    Is this good?
  • 4:00 - 4:04
We should hang it between those spaces.
  • 4:04 - 4:06
    Don't make it loose here,
  • 4:06 - 4:08
but make it loose from over there.
  • 4:09 - 4:11
    That's really great.
  • 4:11 - 4:12
    It's really cute.
  • 4:12 - 4:14
Yes, I think it's okay to shift it.
  • 4:14 - 4:17
    Wow! Thanks so much!
  • 4:17 - 4:20
    -I brought some juice.
    -I'm so happy! Thanks!
  • 4:20 - 4:21
    It's so cute.
  • 4:21 - 4:24
HARU's here! (along with her mom)
  • 4:24 - 4:26
    Thanks!
  • 4:26 - 4:28
    I came a little early.
  • 4:28 - 4:31
We're still in the middle of setting up, but please take a look around.
  • 4:31 - 4:34
This is the collage I made most recently.
  • 4:35 - 4:37
-I made it specifically for the exhibition.
    -Ah, really?
  • 4:37 - 4:43
-The ones I made last year are lined up in order.
    -Ah, that's how it is.
  • 4:43 - 4:50
I made all of them with flyers and old magazines,
  • 4:50 - 4:52
so I made all of them without leaving my place.
  • 4:52 - 4:56
As expected of something made during the pandemic.
  • 4:56 - 4:57
    Thank you!
  • 4:57 - 4:59
    It was so lovely!
  • 4:59 - 5:00
    I'm glad!
  • 5:00 - 5:02
    Bye bye!
  • 5:28 - 5:30
    Looks good.
  • 5:30 - 5:32
    The fabric's been cut.
  • 5:32 - 5:37
We'll be determining the lighting angles now.
  • 5:37 - 5:40
    Mundane tasks.
  • 5:43 - 5:46
    Everything's pretty much finished.
  • 5:46 - 5:47
    It's going well!
  • 5:47 - 5:52
I was able to create a space very close to what I imagined.
  • 5:53 - 6:00
Since I have leftover cloth from when I made the zines
  • 6:01 - 6:10
and magazines I used--the ones I cut up,
  • 6:11 - 6:13
    I'll be taking them
  • 6:15 - 6:20
    and plopping them over there.
  • 6:20 - 6:22
    Something like this.
  • 6:22 - 6:25
    It's like a section you'd see in a house.
  • 6:25 - 6:26
    All willy-nilly.
  • 6:27 - 6:31
My table really did look like this when I was making the zine.
  • 6:32 - 6:34
    I'll leave all this here.
  • 6:34 - 6:39
I wanted people to get a feel of the atmosphere from when I made the zine,
  • 6:39 - 6:41
and am leaving the things I cut out.
  • 6:42 - 6:47
You start from here and climb the stairs.
  • 7:29 - 7:33
I brought my own rug and vase.
  • 7:38 - 7:40
    Thank you!
  • 7:41 - 7:43
    I'm so happy!
  • 7:43 - 7:46
    -I brought some refreshments!
    -Thanks! I'm so happy!
  • 7:46 - 7:49
    Thanks for the food!
  • 7:49 - 7:51
    Wow.
  • 7:51 - 7:54
    When were these made?
  • 7:54 - 7:57
It was during the first lockdown,
  • 7:57 - 7:59
when we couldn't do any work for like a month.
  • 7:59 - 8:02
-You made all of them then?
    -Yeah.
    -Oh wow!
  • 8:02 - 8:06
Like, which magazines did these words appear in?
  • 8:06 - 8:07
    Where did they appear in?
  • 8:07 - 8:12
I primarily used old magazines from 5-10 years ago.
  • 8:12 - 8:17
That's why the wording's different from what it is now.
  • 8:17 - 8:21
-The impressions of gender are also different from right now.
    -That's true.
  • 8:22 - 8:26
You can see the worldview in just a single piece, of course--
  • 8:26 - 8:28
or rather, the worldview in a single piece is enjoyable,
  • 8:28 - 8:30
but if you look at all of them in that way,
  • 8:30 - 8:32
there's also be a change in the feel of them.
  • 8:32 - 8:34
    So cute.
  • 8:34 - 8:35
    I'm so happy.
  • 8:36 - 8:38
-The spirit of it all really is punkish.
    -Yeah (lol)
  • 8:38 - 8:41
-The way you look at magazines is likely to change.
    -Right?
  • 8:42 - 8:46
    When we talk during interviews,
  • 8:46 - 8:49
it makes me realize how important word choice is.
  • 8:49 - 8:50
    Yeah.
  • 8:51 - 8:57
-I think we're quite careful with our words.
    -I think so.
  • 8:57 - 8:59
    I think this is awesome.
  • 8:59 - 9:01
    That makes me happy.
  • 9:01 - 9:03
    So talented!
  • 9:03 - 9:06
-Good work on setting it up!
    -Thanks!
  • 9:07 - 9:11
    -Thanks!
    -No problem!
  • 9:11 - 9:12
    -Take care!
    -See you later!
  • 9:12 - 9:16
    -Bye bye! Thanks!
    -Good work!
  • 9:18 - 9:24
Everyone's so nice. It makes me happy.

(TOMO wasn't going to be able to drop by from the start, but she cheered me on🥲 Thanks, my fellow band members.)
  • 9:28 - 9:31
Day 1 of the exhibition has started!
  • 9:31 - 9:35
So many visitors have been coming by since it began,
  • 9:35 - 9:39
took it all in in different ways,
  • 9:39 - 9:41
    told me their thoughts,
  • 9:41 - 9:46
which all makes for such a great opening day.
  • 9:46 - 9:49
I'm so glad I did this.
  • 9:49 - 9:59
I think these will be three fun days where I'm able to convey what I'm thinking.
  • 9:59 - 10:03
I think everyone will expand upon this in their own way,
  • 10:03 - 10:06
and it feels like this was worth doing.
  • 10:06 - 10:15
I want to continue conveying things so that everyone can enjoy them.
  • 10:15 - 10:17
    This is the best!
  • 10:23 - 10:26
    Opening day is done!
  • 10:26 - 10:28
Thanks so much to everyone who came!
  • 10:28 - 10:32
I didn't announce that I'd be here in person,
  • 10:32 - 10:37
but people were still interested and came alone or with friends,
  • 10:37 - 10:41
    which made me really happy.
  • 10:42 - 10:49
I hope everyone can convey things in a fun way,
  • 10:49 - 10:56
and I want everyone to do more of what they like to do.
  • 10:56 - 11:04
I also want to make fun things and convey them.
  • 11:04 - 11:09
Holding an exhibition was the last challenge of my 20s,
  • 11:09 - 11:16
so I'll keep doing my best and have fun during the last two days.
  • 11:16 - 11:19
    Thanks so much!
  • 11:19 - 11:22
    Day 2 of my exhibition.
  • 11:22 - 11:25
People will be arriving at the gallery in the evening.
  • 11:25 - 11:29
It's time to switch things out right now,
  • 11:29 - 11:34
so I'm spraying the fragrance and waiting for the next visitors.
  • 11:42 - 11:44
    It's a nice scent.
  • 11:48 - 11:53
I heard from the staff that everyone's taking their time looking at the works,
  • 11:53 - 11:57
    which makes me very happy.
  • 11:57 - 11:58
    Right now...
  • 11:59 - 12:04
It's 4:30 pm, so I only have a little more time to finish things up.
  • 12:04 - 12:11
I'll enjoy talking to the visitors at the end.
  • 12:11 - 12:13
    I'll do my best!
  • 12:14 - 12:17
Thank you so much for the lovely flowers.

    ❤The team at our label❤
  • 12:17 - 12:23
Thank you so much for the lovely flowers.

❤Chie-chan❤, our videographer/editor/good friend who produces Wednesday SCANDAL / "her" Diary, etc.
  • 12:23 - 12:26
Thank you so much for the lovely flowers.

❤Takeshi Yao❤, our photographer who shoots all kinds of things and primarily our concerts
  • 12:26 - 12:30
    Day 2 is done!
  • 12:30 - 12:34
Today too I talked with all kinds of people and felt encouraged.
  • 12:35 - 12:38
It was such a great time.
  • 12:38 - 12:43
People's jobs, what they're feeling right now,
  • 12:43 - 12:46
what they thought when looking at the collages,
  • 12:46 - 12:48
they talked about all kinds of things with me,
  • 12:48 - 12:52
and it was very motivating for me as well.
  • 12:52 - 12:58
I feel I was able to convey my thoughts to every single person.
  • 12:58 - 13:01
    At any rate...
  • 13:03 - 13:10
If people can live comfortably in their own way,
  • 13:10 - 13:16
have their own styles acknowledged by others,
  • 13:16 - 13:26
and live the way that they want to, that would be awesome.
  • 13:26 - 13:29
Also, what surprised me today was...
  • 13:29 - 13:34
There was a girl who learned about me via YouTube
  • 13:34 - 13:38
and came out to the exhibition,
  • 13:39 - 13:43
which again made me really glad I started a YouTube channel.
  • 13:46 - 13:48
It was a lot of fun.
  • 13:49 - 13:52
Thanks so much for day 2!
  • 13:52 - 13:54
    Bye bye!
  • 14:07 - 14:12
    The final day is done!
  • 14:13 - 14:17
It made me so happy that so many people came by.
  • 14:17 - 14:22
These three days were the best.
  • 14:22 - 14:26
Everyone took the works in in their own ways,
  • 14:27 - 14:33
and I'm so happy I got to do what I wanted to do.
  • 14:35 - 14:36
    Like...
  • 14:38 - 14:41
Despite everything going on right now,
  • 14:42 - 14:45
people came out and enjoyed this,
  • 14:45 - 14:47
and I'm so grateful for it all.
  • 14:47 - 14:50
I'm sure there are many who weren't able to come,
  • 14:50 - 14:57
but I hope you can enjoy it and get a feel of the atmosphere via this video on YouTube.
  • 14:58 - 15:00
These three days really were the best.
  • 15:00 - 15:03
    Thank you so much!
  • 15:03 - 15:08
Thanks so much for watching this entire video!
  • 15:08 - 15:10
See you in my next video!
  • 15:10 - 15:12
    Bye bye!
  • 15:12 - 15:20
    Afterword

Thank you very much for viewing the entire exhibition.

This zine was made over the course of 22 days, from when the state of emergency in Japan was extended on 2020.5.4, to when the state of emergency was lifted on 2020.5.25. I gathered the old magazines lying at home and flyers I get in the mail every day, and made collages with the theme of "things in which you can feel femininity while reflecting my mood for that day" at a rate of one page per day.
  • 15:20 - 15:28
This was a time when we were all painfully aware of the importance of important things, such as everyday life that is extremely dear to us--going outside, heading to a destination whichever way you'd like, and laughing together with good friends, all of which were matters of course.

I also felt guilty about spending my days unable to anything, but when I arranged the completed collage pages, I noticed that there were more colorful and emotional fluctuations than I had imagined. Humans, women, myself--we're all so different with each passing day.
  • 15:28 - 15:36
While digging through a bunch of music while at home, I learned of the "Riot Grrl" movement that began in the 1990s in Olympia, Washington, USA. It seems that feminist ideology spread through creative activities such as music and art, and that the combination of the words "grrr" and "girl" were used by feminists to mean "a prominent and strong woman."

There is a growing understanding and interest in gender identity and feminism, and social movements that recognize diversity are becoming more widespread, but let's do even more in a world where everyone can decide their own happiness and their own way of life. Your life is your own.
