I'll Be Honest: What is the Worst Pandemic in History?

  • 0:00 - 0:03
Many doctors and scientists are currently
  • 0:03 - 0:05
laboring to try to figure out
  • 0:05 - 0:09
how to stop the spread of COVID-19
  • 0:09 - 0:11
    also known as the coronavirus.
  • 0:11 - 0:15
They rightly want to stop this
    pandemic in its tracks
  • 0:15 - 0:17
    and save people's lives.
  • 0:17 - 0:20
This is affecting all of our lives.
  • 0:20 - 0:21
    I know someone whose father
  • 0:21 - 0:23
    is presently on a ventilator
  • 0:23 - 0:25
and could die from this virus.
  • 0:25 - 0:28
Now, imagine the day that someone
  • 0:28 - 0:31
    discovers an effective
    treatment for COVID-19.
  • 0:31 - 0:34
That day will no doubt be remembered
  • 0:34 - 0:35
    in our history books.
  • 0:35 - 0:39
    People will remember those
    who labored tirelessly
  • 0:39 - 0:41
    to save people's lives.
  • 0:41 - 0:43
People do not want to die.
  • 0:43 - 0:46
    And most live with a
    constant fear of death
  • 0:46 - 0:49
and of how they might die.
  • 0:49 - 0:50
    What is a pandemic?
  • 0:50 - 0:52
It is a disease that is prevalent
  • 0:52 - 0:54
    throughout an entire country,
  • 0:54 - 0:56
or continent, or the whole world.
  • 0:56 - 1:00
It is an epidemic over a large area.
  • 1:00 - 1:01
Now let me ask you this:
  • 1:01 - 1:03
    What was the greatest pandemic
  • 1:03 - 1:06
    in the history of humanity?
  • 1:06 - 1:08
    How did it spread?
  • 1:08 - 1:11
    How was it stopped?
  • 1:11 - 1:13
    What was the treatment?
  • 1:13 - 1:16
Was there a treatment for it?
  • 1:16 - 1:18
    What comes to your mind
    when I ask those questions?
  • 1:18 - 1:21
    How deep do you think
    about those questions?
  • 1:21 - 1:22
Let me give you some hints
  • 1:22 - 1:24
before I give you some history
  • 1:24 - 1:26
    on what I'm referring to.
  • 1:26 - 1:28
    First hint:
  • 1:28 - 1:30
    One married couple's actions
  • 1:30 - 1:32
    brought this pandemic about.
  • 1:32 - 1:35
It could have been entirely avoided.
  • 1:35 - 1:37
    Second hint: Once it spread,
  • 1:37 - 1:39
there was no amount of quarantine
  • 1:39 - 1:42
that you could do to protect yourself
  • 1:42 - 1:44
    from the disease.
  • 1:44 - 1:45
    A third hint:
  • 1:45 - 1:48
    Many want to say that
    they've tested negative
  • 1:48 - 1:49
    to having this virus,
  • 1:49 - 1:52
    but this is because
    they've gone to clinics
  • 1:52 - 1:54
    that use incorrect testing methods
  • 1:54 - 1:57
because they use the wrong manual.
  • 1:57 - 1:59
    They have the wrong standard.
  • 1:59 - 2:00
    Fourth hint:
  • 2:00 - 2:01
    The death rate of those
  • 2:01 - 2:04
who got this disease in the past
  • 2:04 - 2:06
and still presently get it -
  • 2:06 - 2:08
    it's 100%.
  • 2:08 - 2:10
And oh yes, 100% of humanity
  • 2:10 - 2:13
    has had this disease.
  • 2:13 - 2:15
    And still to this day
  • 2:15 - 2:16
    as I make this video,
  • 2:16 - 2:20
on average 150,000 people die from it
  • 2:20 - 2:23
    every single day.
  • 2:23 - 2:24
    What disease is this?
  • 2:24 - 2:26
    It's not a physical disease.
  • 2:26 - 2:29
But I'm talking about a spiritual one.
  • 2:29 - 2:32
    Yes, I'm talking about sin.
  • 2:32 - 2:35
That is, you doing anything in thought,
  • 2:35 - 2:37
or of the motive of the heart,
  • 2:37 - 2:39
or an action that you do
  • 2:39 - 2:41
    that misses the perfect mark
  • 2:41 - 2:44
of following God's Son, Jesus Christ.
  • 2:44 - 2:46
Why am I likening sin to a disease?
  • 2:46 - 2:48
    The Bible speaks of those
  • 2:48 - 2:51
who are living for sin and self
  • 2:51 - 2:52
    as those who are sick
  • 2:52 - 2:55
and in need of a physician.
  • 2:55 - 2:56
So let me give you some history
  • 2:56 - 3:00
    from around 5,000 years ago.
  • 3:00 - 3:03
In the Bible, Romans 5 describes
  • 3:03 - 3:05
    the outbreak of this pandemic.
  • 3:05 - 3:07
It says sin came into the world
  • 3:07 - 3:09
    through one man's sin,
  • 3:09 - 3:12
and then death spread through sin,
  • 3:12 - 3:14
and so death spread to all men
  • 3:14 - 3:16
    because all sinned.
  • 3:16 - 3:19
    So Adam and Eve,
    they disobeyed God's command
  • 3:19 - 3:21
to not eat of the tree in the Garden.
  • 3:21 - 3:22
    Satan deceived them
  • 3:22 - 3:24
and they ate of the fruit.
  • 3:24 - 3:25
    And bam!
  • 3:25 - 3:26
    One man's actions
  • 3:26 - 3:28
    brought this pandemic about -
  • 3:28 - 3:31
    a spiritual virus that
    has spread to all men
  • 3:31 - 3:34
on the face of the entire earth.
  • 3:34 - 3:36
    Now think of the coronavirus.
  • 3:36 - 3:38
Some presently conclude that one man
  • 3:38 - 3:41
eating a bat that was sick
  • 3:41 - 3:42
    and had contaminated meat
  • 3:42 - 3:45
has brought about this global pandemic.
  • 3:45 - 3:47
    Now whether indeed
that proves to be the case
  • 3:47 - 3:49
    of what has happened,
  • 3:49 - 3:52
we do have proof that sin has spread
  • 3:52 - 3:53
    through one man's sin.
  • 3:53 - 3:55
    This actually did happen.
  • 3:55 - 3:58
You see, death: It was not natural.
  • 3:58 - 4:00
But man sinned and death entered the world
  • 4:00 - 4:03
and we still have this problem today.
  • 4:03 - 4:04
    We get sick,
  • 4:04 - 4:07
our bodies struggle to keep going,
  • 4:07 - 4:08
    and we die.
  • 4:08 - 4:10
And for most of us, we die in a day
  • 4:10 - 4:12
    when we least expect it.
  • 4:12 - 4:14
    Sin is destructive.
  • 4:14 - 4:15
    As one pastor said,
  • 4:15 - 4:19
    "Coronavirus can only
    cause the first death,
  • 4:19 - 4:20
    which is a physical death.
  • 4:20 - 4:23
But sin produces the second death,
  • 4:23 - 4:25
    which is the eternal death.
  • 4:25 - 4:28
    Fear what is far greater."
  • 4:28 - 4:31
    The media? They will rarely
    talk about this pandemic -
  • 4:31 - 4:34
    this widespread sickness of sin,
  • 4:34 - 4:36
and the evil of a lost person's heart,
  • 4:36 - 4:39
    and the eternal death
in hell that it leads to.
  • 4:39 - 4:42
Much less will they talk about the cure.
  • 4:42 - 4:44
Most deny that this is even a problem!
  • 4:44 - 4:47
They declare themselves to be good enough.
  • 4:47 - 4:49
    Psalm 14:1 says,
  • 4:49 - 4:50
"The fool says in his heart,
  • 4:50 - 4:53
    'There is no God.'"
  • 4:53 - 4:56
So, what about the cure for sin?
  • 4:56 - 4:59
Just as one man brought about this virus,
  • 4:59 - 5:00
    this pandemic,
  • 5:00 - 5:03
so one Man came and made a cure.
  • 5:03 - 5:05
    There is a Great Physician
  • 5:05 - 5:08
Who made a cure that always works.
  • 5:08 - 5:10
Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
  • 5:10 - 5:12
did what Adam failed to do.
  • 5:12 - 5:14
He lived a perfectly righteous life
  • 5:14 - 5:16
    and He never sinned.
  • 5:16 - 5:19
    He never fell short in
    word, deed, or thought,
  • 5:19 - 5:23
    and He perfectly loved
    humanity by His deeds.
  • 5:23 - 5:25
And then He did an act of love
  • 5:25 - 5:27
by which most of humanity is totally blind
  • 5:27 - 5:29
    to seeing and comprehending.
  • 5:29 - 5:31
They view this act as utter foolishness.
  • 5:31 - 5:34
They mock what Christ did on the cross.
  • 5:34 - 5:35
    You see, on the cross,
  • 5:35 - 5:38
Christ took our sins upon His own account.
  • 5:38 - 5:40
And what happens to a person
  • 5:40 - 5:42
who has your crimes on their books?
  • 5:42 - 5:44
They must now suffer the punishment
  • 5:44 - 5:46
    that you deserve.
  • 5:46 - 5:47
    That's what Christ did.
  • 5:47 - 5:49
On the cross, the wrath of God
  • 5:49 - 5:52
    that I deserve in hell
    for all of an eternity,
  • 5:52 - 5:55
that wrath fell down upon Jesus Christ.
  • 5:55 - 5:59
And God the Father crushed His only Son
  • 5:59 - 6:00
    in my place...
  • 6:00 - 6:02
for me, one of His enemies.
  • 6:02 - 6:04
No greater love has man known than this.
  • 6:04 - 6:08
    Jesus became a curse in
    order for sinful humanity
  • 6:08 - 6:13
    to not be cursed in
    hell for all of eternity.
  • 6:13 - 6:14
    Some would no doubt say,
  • 6:14 - 6:17
    this video, it's not
    historically accurate.
  • 6:17 - 6:20
    There's no such spiritual
    virus in existence.
  • 6:20 - 6:22
    This guy doesn't know
    what he's talking about.
  • 6:22 - 6:25
No, friend, please heed the warning.
  • 6:25 - 6:27
The Bible warns us that men
  • 6:27 - 6:29
    suppress the truth.
  • 6:29 - 6:33
    They refuse to give thanks
    to God their Creator.
  • 6:33 - 6:36
    When a treatment for
    the coronavirus is found,
  • 6:36 - 6:38
    will it be 100% accessible
  • 6:38 - 6:41
to the whole world at one time?
  • 6:41 - 6:43
No, it's not going to be.
  • 6:43 - 6:45
    When treatment is discovered,
  • 6:45 - 6:48
will it 100% work on everyone?
  • 6:48 - 6:50
No, there's not going to be a cure
  • 6:50 - 6:53
that's instant and accessible to all.
  • 6:53 - 6:56
Yet, in contrast, can anyone obtain
  • 6:56 - 6:58
    this cure from sin? Yes.
  • 6:58 - 7:01
    It's accessible to everyone
    at this very moment.
  • 7:01 - 7:04
    No matter what strand of
    illness of sin you have,
  • 7:04 - 7:06
    this cure will work,
  • 7:06 - 7:07
    whether you're extremely,
  • 7:07 - 7:09
    outwardly a wicked person,
  • 7:09 - 7:11
    a murderer, an adulterer,
  • 7:11 - 7:12
    or whether you're the opposite.
  • 7:12 - 7:15
    You're extremely self-righteous and proud,
  • 7:15 - 7:16
    and you're a religious person
  • 7:16 - 7:18
who's trusting in your own works
  • 7:18 - 7:19
or your baptism to save you,
  • 7:19 - 7:21
    and you go to church.
  • 7:21 - 7:23
No matter which person you are,
  • 7:23 - 7:25
    if you agree with God
  • 7:25 - 7:28
about your wickedness and your sin
  • 7:28 - 7:31
and your inability to save yourself,
  • 7:31 - 7:34
and you turn from sin to Christ
  • 7:34 - 7:36
    and you trust Him to
    save you from your sin,
  • 7:36 - 7:39
He will not only forgive you of your debt,
  • 7:39 - 7:41
but the Bible says God causes people
  • 7:41 - 7:43
    to be born again.
  • 7:43 - 7:45
    He gives them a new
    heart with new desires.
  • 7:45 - 7:47
Now they actually want to live for Him.
  • 7:47 - 7:50
    It's no longer a burden
    to live for Christ.
  • 7:50 - 7:52
    It's now their actual desire.
  • 7:52 - 7:55
    They're a new creation.
  • 7:55 - 7:58
Does this cure work 100% of the time?
  • 7:58 - 7:59
    Yes, it does.
  • 7:59 - 8:01
    There's never been a case
  • 8:01 - 8:03
of someone truly believing in Jesus Christ
  • 8:03 - 8:05
    who has not been healed.
  • 8:05 - 8:08
    Now, some are saying, wait.
    Wait a minute.
  • 8:08 - 8:09
Well, you see, there are many
  • 8:09 - 8:11
who claim they took the cure.
  • 8:11 - 8:13
They later fall ill and sick
  • 8:13 - 8:14
and they go back in their sin
  • 8:14 - 8:15
and they live in their sin.
  • 8:15 - 8:17
The Bible teaches this only proves
  • 8:17 - 8:20
they never partook of it to begin.
  • 8:20 - 8:24
So friend, the coronavirus is a pandemic
  • 8:24 - 8:27
    that pales in comparison
    to this disease of sin.
  • 8:27 - 8:30
And in our world, so often, sin -
  • 8:30 - 8:31
    it's not even called sin.
  • 8:31 - 8:35
    Because the world hates
    God's standard of holiness.
  • 8:35 - 8:37
    Jesus says that if you
    even look at a woman
  • 8:37 - 8:40
with lustful intent in your heart,
  • 8:40 - 8:43
    that's the equivalent of
    adultery in God's courtroom.
  • 8:43 - 8:46
You see, sin is not a physical illness.
  • 8:46 - 8:47
    But men love their sin
  • 8:47 - 8:50
    and darkness rather than light.
  • 8:50 - 8:53
So today, I remember Jesus Christ
  • 8:53 - 8:55
Who came to die for His enemies
  • 8:55 - 8:58
and save them from the greatest virus
  • 8:58 - 9:00
that has ever been known to man -
  • 9:00 - 9:01
    that of their sins.
  • 9:01 - 9:03
And you need to be cured.
  • 9:03 - 9:06
    And the fear of death
    that you presently feel
  • 9:06 - 9:08
due to the coronavirus pandemic -
  • 9:08 - 9:11
that should only point you to Christ.
  • 9:11 - 9:13
Even when this pandemic calms down
  • 9:13 - 9:16
and things seem to be back to normal,
  • 9:16 - 9:19
    the matter of your sins
    will not have died down.
  • 9:19 - 9:21
And that will still be an issue
  • 9:21 - 9:23
no matter how much you suppress it.
  • 9:23 - 9:25
Many say, "I'm a good person."
  • 9:25 - 9:27
But friend, the Bible says none is good.
  • 9:27 - 9:28
    No, not one.
  • 9:28 - 9:30
You want to take the correct test
  • 9:30 - 9:32
    and go to God's Word
  • 9:32 - 9:34
and see what God says about you.
  • 9:34 - 9:36
And God says that you're dead
  • 9:36 - 9:37
    in your trespasses and sins,
  • 9:37 - 9:41
and only Jesus Christ can make you alive.
  • 9:41 - 9:44
    Don't ignore the
    warning signs of this virus.
  • 9:44 - 9:46
Your very conscience - it accuses you
  • 9:46 - 9:49
    of guilt and of sin.
  • 9:49 - 9:52
    Yet, in John 19:30,
    Jesus said from the cross,
  • 9:52 - 9:53
    "It is finished."
  • 9:53 - 9:55
    What a relief!
  • 9:55 - 9:57
    He completed the cure!
  • 9:57 - 9:59
He's finished it on our behalf -
  • 9:59 - 10:01
what is required to pay our sin debt
  • 10:01 - 10:04
through sacrificing Himself in our place
  • 10:04 - 10:07
    and rising from the
    dead with mighty power,
  • 10:07 - 10:09
and He's seated in Heaven right now.
  • 10:09 - 10:10
And He says all who come to Me,
  • 10:10 - 10:12
if you're sick, if you're heavy laden,
  • 10:12 - 10:14
He says He will heal you.
  • 10:14 - 10:15
    He really will.
  • 10:15 - 10:18
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
  • 10:18 - 10:21
    and you will be saved.
  • 10:21 - 10:23
    Acts 4:12, it says,
  • 10:23 - 10:25
"There is salvation in no one else,
  • 10:25 - 10:27
for there is no other name under heaven
  • 10:27 - 10:28
    given among men by which
  • 10:28 - 10:30
    we must be saved."
  • 10:30 - 10:32
Christ - He has the only cure.
  • 10:32 - 10:35
In 1 Timothy 1:15, it says,
  • 10:35 - 10:37
    "This saying is trustworthy
  • 10:37 - 10:39
    and deserving of full acceptance,
  • 10:39 - 10:41
that Christ Jesus came into the world
  • 10:41 - 10:43
    to save sinners,
  • 10:43 - 10:44
    of whom I am foremost."
  • 10:44 - 10:46
And oh, that the world would have
  • 10:46 - 10:49
    full acceptance of the truth
  • 10:49 - 10:50
    that there is a virus.
  • 10:50 - 10:53
Their sin is a real deal.
  • 10:53 - 10:56
