Introduction: how to punch needle
-
This time we use 3 strands.
-
Finish will be finer with 1 strand
and fluffier with 6 strands.
-
Without taking a rest here,
pinch the thread by left hand thumb
-
and let the threader
through the needle eye.
-
Pull out the thread carefully.
-
Have the tip of the thread come out
by approx. 2 cm.
-
Re-grip the handle
in the way you hold a pencil.
-
Punch needle deeply down through
the tightly stretched cloth surface.
-
After punching down the needle,
pull it up above the surface slowly.
-
Hover the needle tip sideways
by 1 mm and punch down again.
-
Here is a tip!!
-
You will hear popping sound
if you make a perfect movement.
-
Rotate the hoop
and continue to punch spirally.
-
Once completed to the centre,
the backside looks like this.
-
Flip back to the right face.
Pull up the needle gently
-
and cut the thread
right above the surface.
-
Also, cut the other end
that you had come out at the beginning.
-
It doesn't get fray even when rubbed.
-
The navy one is fluffier
because punched with more strands.
-
I explain about the number of strands
in a different video.
