Recovering a Deleted Yahoo Account

  • 0:00 - 0:05
This video covers the basics of recovering a deleted Yahoo account.
  • 0:05 - 0:10
There are a couple of situations where it may be possible to reactivate a deleted Yahoo account.
  • 0:10 - 0:14
One case is if you asked Yahoo to delete your account within the last 90 days.
  • 0:15 - 0:19
Another is if a third party deleted your account without your knowledge.
  • 0:19 - 0:24
You cannot recover an account that Yahoo closed because you didn't use it for more than 12 months.
  • 0:24 - 0:29
You also can't recover an account that we closed due to a violation of our Terms of Service.
  • 0:30 - 0:35
To begin reactivating your account, click Sign In on any Yahoo page, such as the Yahoo Home page.
  • 0:36 - 0:40
Enter the Yahoo ID and password for the deactivated account.
  • 0:40 - 0:43
Click Sign In, then click Reactivate
  • 0:43 - 0:47
It can take up to 24 hours for your account to be fully reactivated.
  • 0:48 - 0:51
Some of your old data may no longer be available.
  • 0:51 - 0:57
If you initiated the deletion of your account, we may be able to restore email that was in the account before you closed it,
  • 0:57 - 0:59
    but with no guarantees.
  • 0:59 - 1:04
Email that people sent to your Yahoo account after it was deleted won't be there.
  • 1:04 - 1:07
Those messages will have bounced back to their senders.
  • 1:08 - 1:14
If you have more questions about recovering a deleted account, please check our help site or contact Yahoo customer care.
  • 1:15 - 1:17
    Thank You
