How long do carrots last in the fridge?

Whole raw carrots can last 3 to 5 weeks in the fridge if stored correctly, ideally in a plastic bag in the vegetable drawer to retain moisture.

Peeled or cut carrots can last 1 to 2 weeks in the fridge when kept in moist conditions, such as stored in an airtight container with water. Just to make sure to change out the water every one to two days and rinse the carrots again before eating.

Baby carrots, more sensitive due to their thin skin, last about 1 to 1.5 weeks less than their larger counterparts.

Proper storage conditions, including the right humidity and temperature, are crucial for extending carrots' shelf life.

Additionally, storing them in a ventilated plastic bag or a container with a lid in the crisper drawer helps maintain moisture and prevents drying out.

Removing the greens is also advisable as they can draw moisture from the roots, leading to quicker spoilage.
