  • 0:00 - 0:03
what's up guys so we're back in other
  • 0:01 - 0:05
videos today with like a buddy Ethan and
  • 0:03 - 0:09
what are you talking about saison oh
  • 0:05 - 0:11
let's talk about some price Corrections
  • 0:09 - 0:13
and volatility in nation markets because
  • 0:11 - 0:16
that's what cryptocurrency markets are a
  • 0:13 - 0:19
nation market means new kind of
  • 0:16 - 0:22
    innovative they're unfamiliar right
  • 0:19 - 0:24
nation's markets have a couple of
  • 0:22 - 0:27
qualities that make them very volatile
  • 0:24 - 0:29
so one they're thin that is there's less
  • 0:27 - 0:31
liquidity in these markets and say the
  • 0:29 - 0:34
    foreign exchange where trillions of
  • 0:31 - 0:36
dollars are traded every day on bitcoins
  • 0:34 - 0:37
market you might have one or two billion
  • 0:36 - 0:41
dollars traded every day as an example
  • 0:37 - 0:44
so these markets move in very shocking
  • 0:41 - 0:46
ways so I see things on social media
  • 0:44 - 0:49
sometimes where you'll have a news
  • 0:46 - 0:52
headline that says Bitcoin lost 30% of
  • 0:49 - 0:54
its value in one day and it's true
  • 0:52 - 0:56
because we heard of a to its high of
  • 0:54 - 0:58
whatever the past 24 hours may have come
  • 0:56 - 1:00
down quite a lot this is something that
  • 0:58 - 1:04
shocks a lot of people and it shouldn't
  • 1:00 - 1:07
because these markets are by their very
  • 1:04 - 1:09
nature extremely volatile you need to
  • 1:07 - 1:13
keep that in mind I think that a lot of
  • 1:09 - 1:16
people right now is it is it what's the
  • 1:13 - 1:19
company clean coinbase they they added
  • 1:16 - 1:22
something like 40,000 new accounts if in
  • 1:19 - 1:24
one day yeah one day it went absolute so
  • 1:22 - 1:25
so many people rushing into the space
  • 1:24 - 1:27
naturally I think there are a lot of
  • 1:25 - 1:28
people who are probably unfamiliar with
  • 1:27 - 1:31
these markets and then get shocked by
  • 1:28 - 1:33
the movements wow they get to get like
  • 1:31 - 1:35
their mind gets blown I think a lot of
  • 1:33 - 1:37
people may lose a lot of money if
  • 1:35 - 1:40
they're not aware of what's going on why
  • 1:37 - 1:42
those price shocks happen and again it's
  • 1:40 - 1:45
down to new markets that are disruptive
  • 1:42 - 1:45
and they're very thin so they move very
  • 1:45 - 1:48
    quickly
  • 1:45 - 1:50
I actually a good example of your if
  • 1:48 - 1:52
    you're comparing these markets to
  • 1:50 - 1:54
    traditional crypto or traditional
  • 1:52 - 1:56
currency markets you'll find where I
  • 1:54 - 1:58
    mentioned trillions of dollars are
  • 1:56 - 2:00
traded every day you'll find that the
  • 1:58 - 2:02
spread in these market the difference
  • 2:00 - 2:05
between the buy price and the sell price
  • 2:02 - 2:07
are fractions of a penny in fact on the
  • 2:05 - 2:10
most popular traded currency pair the
  • 2:07 - 2:12
euro US dollar the spread is sometimes
  • 2:10 - 2:13
as low as zero which means the prices
  • 2:12 - 2:15
actually match each other and they're
  • 2:13 - 2:19
just waiting for people to pick up the
  • 2:15 - 2:22
orders so in those markets you'll see
  • 2:19 - 2:24
    that's that's incredible liquidity lots
  • 2:22 - 2:26
and lots of liquidity to access for
  • 2:24 - 2:29
traders in the crypto markets you will
  • 2:26 - 2:33
    find spreads oftentimes of several
  • 2:29 - 2:36
dollars between bid and ask prices so
  • 2:33 - 2:37
again these markets are thinner than
  • 2:36 - 2:40
    markets that are much more
  • 2:37 - 2:42
    well-established they're newer so people
  • 2:40 - 2:45
are trying to find one more price
  • 2:42 - 2:45
discovery as people as more people enter
  • 2:45 - 2:47
    the market
  • 2:45 - 2:48
it becomes more volatile because more
  • 2:47 - 2:49
and more people then have a best of
  • 2:48 - 2:51
    financial interest in the price
  • 2:49 - 2:52
direction going one way or another and
  • 2:51 - 2:54
there are people who have a vested
  • 2:52 - 2:57
interest in prices going down as are
  • 2:54 - 2:59
called short traders so what I'm trying
  • 2:57 - 3:02
to explain is that these markets are
  • 2:59 - 3:04
extremely volatile and if you're seeing
  • 3:02 - 3:06
price shocks you need to keep your wits
  • 3:04 - 3:10
about you and understand this this is
  • 3:06 - 3:12
this is a logical rational way for this
  • 3:10 - 3:14
market act just because it's so thin if
  • 3:12 - 3:16
everything I not to mention there's only
  • 3:14 - 3:18
certain key players such as central
  • 3:16 - 3:21
exchanges and control the whole inflow
  • 3:18 - 3:22
and outflow of crypto itself yet we
  • 3:21 - 3:24
    definitely should actually mention
  • 3:22 - 3:26
manipulation that's going to bring up
  • 3:24 - 3:29
    because manipulation is something I
  • 3:26 - 3:30
think we'd all like to deny oh no these
  • 3:29 - 3:34
markets are pure and wonderful now that
  • 3:30 - 3:37
    they initially wanted a manipulation
  • 3:34 - 3:39
absolutely occurs and again it's largely
  • 3:37 - 3:43
because these markets are new but also
  • 3:39 - 3:45
because these markets are the skirt
  • 3:43 - 3:48
regulation I think in a lot of in a lot
  • 3:45 - 3:50
of cases so as you get these new markets
  • 3:48 - 3:51
with a lot of new people who don't
  • 3:50 - 3:52
necessarily understand what's going on I
  • 3:51 - 3:55
think those people are easy to take
  • 3:52 - 3:58
advantage of if you run a centralized
  • 3:55 - 4:01
    exchange you have opportunity to
  • 3:58 - 4:03
manipulate prices and even in in
  • 4:01 - 4:03
regulated environment so that might be
  • 4:03 - 4:07
    very
  • 4:03 - 4:10
attempting to decide that hey if I can
  • 4:07 - 4:13
just hide the behavior I may be able to
  • 4:10 - 4:15
make an extra million or two that's a
  • 4:13 - 4:16
very very tempting position for somebody
  • 4:15 - 4:19
who's running a centralized exchange to
  • 4:16 - 4:21
be in to manipulate prices to metric to
  • 4:19 - 4:23
    manipulate their customers to manipulate
  • 4:21 - 4:26
liquidity and price feeds so that
  • 4:23 - 4:29
behavior it's sometimes hard to prove
  • 4:26 - 4:30
and often times impossible but I think
  • 4:29 - 4:31
it's very naive to think it doesn't
  • 4:30 - 4:34
happen so we need to be aware of that
  • 4:31 - 4:36
and also this is why decentralized
  • 4:34 - 4:38
exchanges are more and more compelling
  • 4:36 - 4:41
as because if you have these centralized
  • 4:38 - 4:43
    of administrations these centralized er
  • 4:41 - 4:45
well they're like what and failure like
  • 4:43 - 4:47
yeah look at back just two weeks ago is
  • 4:45 - 4:49
still ongoing sometimes the DDoS attacks
  • 4:47 - 4:51
    sure exactly exchanges can't they're
  • 4:49 - 4:53
    their manipulators they're they're
  • 4:51 - 4:55
exposed to attacks they can be brought
  • 4:53 - 4:58
down right I think this is a problem
  • 4:55 - 5:00
with baloney axis scaling their hardware
  • 4:58 - 5:03
Polonia X has these constant problems
  • 5:00 - 5:04
not to say the plenty X's at arable
  • 5:03 - 5:06
exchange rating but they run into
  • 5:04 - 5:07
problems just like any other exchange
  • 5:06 - 5:09
crack and runs into these problems as
  • 5:07 - 5:11
well exchanges run into problems where
  • 5:09 - 5:12
    their hardware isn't necessarily meeting
  • 5:11 - 5:15
the demand of their customer base and
  • 5:12 - 5:17
also not just above demand of the
  • 5:15 - 5:19
customer base but are open to attack
  • 5:17 - 5:21
people can like you said DDoS attack or
  • 5:19 - 5:23
that's a distributed denial of service
  • 5:21 - 5:25
attack they can try to bring these
  • 5:23 - 5:27
exchanges down disrupt the prey and in
  • 5:25 - 5:30
if price is actually moving really fast
  • 5:27 - 5:31
    attacking an exchange creates market
  • 5:30 - 5:34
uncertainty of net exchange there's a
  • 5:31 - 5:36
lot of a lot of market share so there
  • 5:34 - 5:38
    are always risks of centralized
  • 5:36 - 5:40
    exchanges not necessarily just
  • 5:38 - 5:42
corruption but also just as a mere set
  • 5:40 - 5:44
points of failure this is a again
  • 5:42 - 5:47
something we got to keep in mind all of
  • 5:44 - 5:50
these things add up to a volatile price
  • 5:47 - 5:52
point even more reason to not keep your
  • 5:50 - 5:54
crypto on exchange there's that fear
  • 5:52 - 5:56
don't keep your crypto on exchanges that
  • 5:54 - 5:58
vendor you use a good wallet I use a
  • 5:56 - 6:00
cold wallets or use any wallet that
  • 5:58 - 6:02
happens to see phrase back up and back
  • 6:00 - 6:05
up your stuff yeah for sure definitely
  • 6:02 - 6:07
use a wallet that you're going to be
  • 6:05 - 6:09
able to recover if you say break your
  • 6:07 - 6:11
phone or burn your computer down
  • 6:09 - 6:16
rage of frustration after Bitcoin lost
  • 6:11 - 6:19
30% of its value one day that's it be
  • 6:16 - 6:21
safe be aware keep your wits about you
  • 6:19 - 6:22
these are volatile nation markets you
  • 6:21 - 6:24
need to keep that in mind I think it's
  • 6:22 - 6:25
just really important that people just
  • 6:24 - 6:27
understand that awesome well thanks for
  • 6:25 - 6:28
