Moving North | Sabrina Maniscalco | TEDxTurku

Title:
Moving North | Sabrina Maniscalco | TEDxTurku
Description:

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. How is it possible for quantum particles such as electrons or atoms to be both in North and South at the same time? Answering this question could be the final step towards commercial quantum technologies such as quantum computers and teleportation devices.

In this talk professor Sabrina Maniscalco shares her personal story about moving from South to North, which surprisingly has a lot to do with quantum physics. Sabrina is the Head of Theoretical Physics at the University of Turku. She is originally from Sicily, Italy.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
