SEND OUT WORKERS - Let’s spread the Luke10:2b virus.

  • 0:03 - 0:04
    The Call of Jesus
  • 0:05 - 0:09
    Welcome to this lesson called
    "Send Out Workers".
  • 0:09 - 0:12
This is from chapter 8 in my book
    "The Call of Jesus"
  • 0:12 - 0:19
and video no. 8 in this series
    about the call of Jesus.
  • 0:19 - 0:22
    We have now looked at
    how the harvest is ready
  • 0:22 - 0:25
    and the harvest is plentiful,
    as Jesus is saying.
  • 0:25 - 0:30
    The harvest is ripe.
The harvest is not the problem.
  • 0:31 - 0:35
No, there is a great harvest
that is waiting for all of us.
  • 0:35 - 0:39
The problem is not the harvest.
    The problem is the workers.
  • 0:40 - 0:41
    You and me.
  • 0:41 - 0:44
So, the harvest is not the problem.
  • 0:44 - 0:46
    The workers are the problem.
  • 0:46 - 0:51
And the answer to that problem,
one of those is - pray.
  • 0:51 - 0:57
Pray. Not pray for the harvest
to come in, as many people are doing,
  • 0:57 - 1:01
but pray for the workers to go out.
  • 1:01 - 1:06
And this is what we are going to look at
in this chapter, in this video.
  • 1:06 - 1:11
So, let's start with reading what Jesus
    is saying in Luke 10:2.
  • 1:12 - 1:16
    "The harvest is plentiful,
    but the workers are few.
  • 1:16 - 1:23
Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore,
to send out workers into His harvest field."
  • 1:24 - 1:31
So yes, we really need to start to ask,
or, pray, as we see here.
  • 1:33 - 1:39
To pray, to ask, to beg. These are
some of the words Jesus is using.
  • 1:39 - 1:43
    These are very strong words:
    pray, ask,
  • 1:43 - 1:46
but we actually see the word,
    almost beg, like beg,
  • 1:46 - 1:51
beg, beg the Lord of the harvest
    to send out workers.
  • 1:51 - 1:55
Jesus has commanded us to pray.
And it's important that we pray.
  • 1:55 - 1:57
There are many people who pray
    every day.
  • 1:58 - 2:02
There are many people who, for example,
    pray the Lord's prayer.
  • 2:02 - 2:05
    Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be Your name,
  • 2:05 - 2:08
    Your Kingdom come
    and Your will be done
  • 2:08 - 2:11
    or earth
    as it is in heaven.
  • 2:11 - 2:13
    Out of Matthew 6.
  • 2:13 - 2:16
And it's good to pray that prayer.
  • 2:16 - 2:21
But you know, that was not the only
prayer Jesus has commanded us to pray.
  • 2:21 - 2:26
He has not only said that we should pray
    the Lord's prayer there.
  • 2:26 - 2:31
He has also said that we should pray
    God to send out workers.
  • 2:31 - 2:34
    Like Jesus is saying.
  • 2:34 - 2:37
    But how many do, actually,
    pray that prayer?
  • 2:37 - 2:42
If I now go to the church and ask:
How many pray the Lord's prayer?
  • 2:42 - 2:45
    Almost everyone would lift up
    their hands.
  • 2:45 - 2:49
But if I ask: But how many pray
this prayer Jesus has commanded us here
  • 2:49 - 2:54
to pray God to send out workers.
Almost no one would lift up their hands.
  • 2:54 - 2:57
    And that is the problem.
  • 2:58 - 3:03
Because what Jesus is saying here is
as much the truth as what He said
  • 3:03 - 3:05
when it comes to Lord's prayer.
  • 3:06 - 3:13
But, what does it mean when we pray
    God to send out workers?
  • 3:13 - 3:16
I want to look a little at the word:
    "send out".
  • 3:16 - 3:19
I want to start with reading
    from my book.
  • 3:19 - 3:24
    "There are several interesting things
about what Jesus is saying here in Luke 10:2.
  • 3:24 - 3:30
The first interesting thing is that the Bible
    translates one of Jesus' words,
  • 3:30 - 3:37
'to send.' But, the Greek word 'ekballo'
could also mean 'to drive out.'
  • 3:37 - 3:46
The word 'ekballo' is the same word used
when referring to driving out a demon.
  • 3:46 - 3:51
One of the first places in the Bible you see
    this word 'ekballo' used
  • 3:51 - 3:56
is in Matthew 10 where Jesus commands
    us to drive out demons.
  • 3:56 - 4:02
Matthew 10:7-8 states: As you go,
    proclaim the message:
  • 4:02 - 4:07
'The kingdom of heaven has come near.'
Heal the sick, raise the dead,
  • 4:07 - 4:12
    cleanse those who have leprosy,
    drive out (ekballo) demons.
  • 4:12 - 4:15
    Freely you have received;
    freely give."
  • 4:15 - 4:21
So, what we see here is that the word
    "send" - "ekballo"
  • 4:21 - 4:25
could also be translated "drive out".
  • 4:25 - 4:30
And I believe it's saying so much more
    about what it is. Why?
  • 4:30 - 4:34
Because a demon doesn't want to go.
  • 4:34 - 4:35
A demon doesn't want to go.
  • 4:35 - 4:40
So, a demon needs to be driven out
    of a person.
  • 4:40 - 4:46
The same way, we as believers,
we just don't want to go out in the harvest.
  • 4:46 - 4:49
We don't want to go out
    and talk about Jesus.
  • 4:49 - 4:56
We don't want to, so we need, often,
    to be driven out.
  • 4:56 - 4:58
And this is what it is.
  • 4:58 - 5:07
And if you start to pray, to beg,
to ask God to drive out believers
  • 5:07 - 5:12
out in the harvest, send them,
    drive them out,
  • 5:12 - 5:17
He is going to answer it.
He is going to answer it.
  • 5:17 - 5:21
And right now, in this time we are
living in, there is a virus
  • 5:21 - 5:25
that has been spreading all over
and people are in panic all over the world
  • 5:25 - 5:31
    because of this coronavirus, but
I want to introduce you to another virus,
  • 5:31 - 5:36
a virus that is not going to bring fear,
but a virus that is going to bring hope,
  • 5:36 - 5:44
    that's going to bring life.
And that virus is called Luke 10:2b.
  • 5:44 - 5:49
The virus is called Luke 10:2b.
  • 5:49 - 5:51
And I want to read about that
    from my book here.
  • 5:52 - 5:56
"Some years ago, I heard about the virus
that was spreading all over the world.
  • 5:56 - 6:00
This virus was called the 'Luke 10:2b'
    virus.
  • 6:00 - 6:06
This 'virus' started back in 2002
when two young people started to pray
  • 6:06 - 6:09
    out of Luke 10:2b.
  • 6:09 - 6:16
But, in order to remember to pray this prayer,
these two young boys set their watch
  • 6:16 - 6:22
to beep every day at 10:02 in the morning
    and 10:02 in the evening.
  • 6:22 - 6:27
So when the clock would beep,
    they would remember these words
  • 6:27 - 6:35
in Luke 10:2 so they would pray to God
to send out workers to the harvest.
  • 6:35 - 6:40
We can see that God has answered
    their prayers
  • 6:40 - 6:44
because we are now seeing many people
all over the world going out to the harvest,
  • 6:44 - 6:49
and we are seeing more and more people
    praying the same prayer."
  • 6:49 - 6:50
    Hallelujah!
  • 6:51 - 6:54
And I have also seen this
    again and again.
  • 6:54 - 6:57
    When I started to pray:
    God, send out workers!
  • 6:57 - 7:01
Send out workers to the harvest!
Send out workers to the harvest!
  • 7:01 - 7:06
I started to see God answer
    that prayer.
  • 7:06 - 7:10
    The last year we, me,
    The Last Reformation,
  • 7:10 - 7:14
    the people I'm working with,
we have seen thousands of workers
  • 7:14 - 7:17
being sent out to the harvest.
  • 7:17 - 7:20
    We need to pray this.
  • 7:20 - 7:26
We need to start to pray
    for workers to the harvest.
  • 7:26 - 7:32
    So, let's spread this "virus".
Take your watch, take your alarm clock,
  • 7:32 - 7:37
take your telephone and set it on 10:02.
  • 7:38 - 7:42
    And then every morning 10:02
    and every evening 10:02,
  • 7:42 - 7:44
when you hear that alarm clock,
  • 7:44 - 7:48
you'll remember what Jesus is saying
    in Luke 10:2.
  • 7:48 - 7:52
What will happen if you do this?
    First, you'll remember,
  • 7:52 - 7:56
you will keep your focus sharp,
and you will start to pray:
  • 7:56 - 7:59
    God, send out workers,
drive out workers, drive out workers.
  • 7:59 - 8:03
    And you will experience how
    He will answer your prayer.
  • 8:03 - 8:07
    Second, you will also experience
how He will send you out.
  • 8:07 - 8:12
Why? Because if you set your
alarm clock every day and it: beep, beep...
  • 8:12 - 8:15
And you are thinking of the workers
    and you are praying God:
  • 8:15 - 8:16
send out workers, send out workers,
  • 8:16 - 8:20
after a short time you will feel
    something stirring up in you.
  • 8:20 - 8:23
You will also need to go out.
  • 8:23 - 8:28
You will also need to start
to open your mouth and share about Jesus.
  • 8:28 - 8:32
It will help to pray this.
It will help to keep your focus sharp.
  • 8:32 - 8:37
It will help you, but it will also
    drive you out yourself.
  • 8:37 - 8:39
Let's read some more from my book here.
  • 8:39 - 8:43
"Prayer is also important for us
    because it transforms us.
  • 8:43 - 8:48
When you start to pray out of Luke 10:2,
    you will start to experience
  • 8:48 - 8:51
how this prayer will actually create
    something within you.
  • 8:51 - 8:55
After praying this prayer for just
    a short time,
  • 8:55 - 9:00
you will understand that it is truly
on God's heart to see people saved.
  • 9:00 - 9:06
We see this in Luke 15:4-7,
    when Jesus talks about leaving
  • 9:06 - 9:11
the ninety-nine sheep to go out
to find the one sheep that was lost."
  • 9:11 - 9:17
So, here we see, when we pray,
it will stir something up in us.
  • 9:17 - 9:19
But it will also give us the right heart,
  • 9:19 - 9:24
    like Jesus left the 99
to find that one sheep that was lost.
  • 9:24 - 9:28
When you start to pray: God,
send out workers, send out workers
  • 9:28 - 9:32
to the harvest, send out workers,
I ask You, the harvest is ready,
  • 9:32 - 9:36
    the harvest is plentiful,
    the workers are few,
  • 9:36 - 9:39
when you start to pray that,
    God will answer that prayer
  • 9:39 - 9:43
and that prayer will stir something up
    inside of you.
  • 9:43 - 9:48
You know, it's time to pray biblical.
  • 9:48 - 9:51
    It's time to pray according
    to the Word.
  • 9:51 - 9:56
For years we have been praying
    for revival like
  • 9:56 - 9:59
revival is something that just comes
    by itself.
  • 9:59 - 10:02
Like, suddenly, the harvest just comes
    through the door.
  • 10:02 - 10:07
But Jesus has not, one place, said that
we should pray for the harvest to come in.
  • 10:07 - 10:08
    Has He?
  • 10:08 - 10:12
No. But He has asked us to pray
for the workers to go out.
  • 10:12 - 10:16
Why? Because harvest cannot come in
    to the barn.
  • 10:16 - 10:20
    Harvest cannot move.
We have to go out to it.
  • 10:20 - 10:22
And I'm going to tell more
    about that later.
  • 10:22 - 10:26
So, it's wrong if you pray for the
    revival like
  • 10:26 - 10:31
it is something that just comes totally
    by itself, from God.
  • 10:32 - 10:35
No, we need to go out in the harvest.
  • 10:35 - 10:37
And there I'm not only talking
about going out on the street.
  • 10:37 - 10:42
    I'm talking about your neighbors,
your friends, your family, your coworkers,
  • 10:42 - 10:44
    people in your neighborhood.
  • 10:44 - 10:49
It is so important this truth
about the harvest that is ready,
  • 10:49 - 10:53
and pray God to send out workers.
    Why?
  • 10:53 - 10:58
Because Satan has been trying so much
to keep us away from this.
  • 10:58 - 11:05
So, we need to start to pray,
    pray according to God's Word.
  • 11:05 - 11:11
Not just say a lot of words,
but pray in faith according to God's words.
  • 11:11 - 11:13
And I want to read more
    from my book here.
  • 11:13 - 11:20
"To pray for a revival as if it is totally
up to God to do it is not a biblical prayer.
  • 11:20 - 11:23
Are you aware that we can pray wrong?
  • 11:23 - 11:29
If we pray for things that are not biblical,
we will not see any results.
  • 11:29 - 11:35
James 4:3 talks about this by stating:
'When you pray, you do not receive,
  • 11:35 - 11:40
because you pray with wrong motives,
that you may spend it on your pleasures.'
  • 11:40 - 11:48
Matthew 6:7 states: 'And when you pray,
do not keep on babbling like pagans,
  • 11:48 - 11:52
for they think they will be heard
    because of their many words."
  • 11:52 - 11:57
    Yes, this is so true.
    We can pray wrong
  • 11:57 - 12:02
and we can just pray a lot of words
    and think that
  • 12:02 - 12:05
if we just repeat the prayer and
    pray a lot of words
  • 12:05 - 12:09
    we would be heard.
No, we need to pray from our hearts.
  • 12:09 - 12:12
Many years ago I was praying
    the Lord's prayer like
  • 12:13 - 12:16
    just words, words, words, words...
My heart was not in it.
  • 12:17 - 12:20
And I know, as I said,
many people are praying that today.
  • 12:20 - 12:23
    They are just praying words.
  • 12:23 - 12:29
    We need to pray biblical
and we need to pray from our heart.
  • 12:29 - 12:34
    We need to pray according
    to God's will.
  • 12:34 - 12:40
A good example is what we saw
    here with Jesus.
  • 12:40 - 12:44
Pray the Lord of the harvest
    to send workers.
  • 12:44 - 12:49
This is a biblical prayer and
this is a prayer according to God's will.
  • 12:49 - 12:53
And if you pray that from your heart,
you know that you've already received
  • 12:53 - 12:55
    what you prayed for.
  • 12:55 - 12:58
I can come with and example
    of a bad prayer,
  • 12:58 - 13:00
that is not according to God's word.
  • 13:00 - 13:04
    Some years ago, I remember,
we led a new person to Christ,
  • 13:04 - 13:07
    who had no Christian background.
She was very new in the faith.
  • 13:07 - 13:11
Short time after she came to faith
she came to me very excited.
  • 13:11 - 13:14
    She said: Torben, Torben,
I have an idea. I have an idea.
  • 13:14 - 13:17
And I was very excited to listen
    to her idea.
  • 13:17 - 13:21
I have an idea. I really believe
    it was God's, she said.
  • 13:21 - 13:23
And I was like: Okay, let me hear.
  • 13:23 - 13:26
Who is the one who's creating
all the problems in the world?
  • 13:26 - 13:28
    Satan.
  • 13:28 - 13:32
What if we can get all Christians
to come together and pray for Satan,
  • 13:32 - 13:35
    that Satan might get saved.
    If Satan would get saved
  • 13:35 - 13:38
    we would not have
    those problems anymore.
  • 13:38 - 13:41
She was so sweet when she
    said that.
  • 13:41 - 13:43
    And I couldn't stop laughing.
  • 13:43 - 13:46
    Her heart was good,
    her intention was good,
  • 13:46 - 13:52
but to pray for Satan to get saved
    is waste of time. Why?
  • 13:52 - 13:56
    It's not a biblical prayer.
God is not going to answer it. Why?
  • 13:56 - 14:00
Because it goes against His word.
  • 14:00 - 14:03
Another prayer that is not biblical:
  • 14:03 - 14:08
Oh God, God I pray for my city
    that they would get saved.
  • 14:08 - 14:12
Or, God I pray that You will
    send people to our church.
  • 14:12 - 14:14
Now I'm provoking you a little,
  • 14:15 - 14:20
but where do you find those
prayers, like, if we just pray
  • 14:20 - 14:22
    people would get saved automatically.
  • 14:22 - 14:26
It almost sounds in those prayers
like it's God who's keeping back.
  • 14:26 - 14:28
    Like God doesn't want people
    to get saved.
  • 14:28 - 14:30
God wants people to get saved.
  • 14:30 - 14:34
So much that He sent His Son Jesus
    to die on the cross.
  • 14:35 - 14:39
God sent His Son to die for every man
    out there.
  • 14:39 - 14:40
    The harvest is plentiful.
  • 14:41 - 14:43
    Workers are the problem.
  • 14:43 - 14:46
    Not God, in that sense.
  • 14:46 - 14:51
I don't say that you cannot pray for your
city. I don't say that it's not okay
  • 14:51 - 14:56
to pray for people. You can pray for
people that they may open their hearts
  • 14:56 - 14:59
to receive, and you can pray that God
    will draw people.
  • 15:00 - 15:05
    But, if you pray like
you don't need to do anything else,
  • 15:05 - 15:09
or like they will come into the church
    by themselves
  • 15:09 - 15:13
or suddenly give their lives to God
    by themselves,
  • 15:13 - 15:15
then you are praying a wrong prayer.
  • 15:15 - 15:17
    It's unbiblical.
  • 15:17 - 15:21
And this is how many people
have been praying in churches for years.
  • 15:21 - 15:24
Oh God, send people like this,
    to get saved.
  • 15:24 - 15:29
Do you know, faith comes by
    hearing the Word of God.
  • 15:30 - 15:33
And we need somebody to preach.
  • 15:33 - 15:38
    Paul is very, very clear:
We need people to be sent out.
  • 15:38 - 15:43
Paul is saying that in Romans 10:13.
    And I will read here.
  • 15:43 - 15:48
"Everyone who calls on the name of
the Lord Jesus will be saved.
  • 15:48 - 15:52
How, then, can they call on the one
    they have not believed in?
  • 15:52 - 15:56
And how can they believe in the one
    they have not yet heard?
  • 15:56 - 16:00
And how can they hear without
    someone preaching to them?
  • 16:00 - 16:05
    And how can someone preach
    unless they are sent?"
  • 16:05 - 16:08
Can you see it? This is so clear.
  • 16:09 - 16:15
We need to pray God to send
    out workers. Why?
  • 16:15 - 16:18
    Because when people are sent
    they can preach,
  • 16:18 - 16:20
    and when they preach
    other people can hear,
  • 16:20 - 16:24
and they can come to faith,
    and they can get saved.
  • 16:24 - 16:28
    People don't come to faith
    without hearing.
  • 16:29 - 16:33
We can pray for our cities,
    but a more biblical prayer...
  • 16:34 - 16:37
is pray God to send out workers.
  • 16:37 - 16:40
So, let's start to pray that.
  • 16:40 - 16:44
    Let's every morning,
when you wake up, the alarm clock,
  • 16:44 - 16:48
and every evening, or during the day,
    when you think of it,
  • 16:48 - 16:51
pray this: Oh God, I pray for those
    people out there.
  • 16:51 - 16:55
God, I pray for people in our cities,
that You will send out workers to our city.
  • 16:55 - 16:59
God, I pray for my neighbor
that You will send out workers.
  • 16:59 - 17:01
God, I pray for my family
that You will send out workers,
  • 17:01 - 17:05
    to preach the gospel,
so they can hear it, so they can believe,
  • 17:05 - 17:07
    so they can get saved.
  • 17:07 - 17:11
    Set your alarm clock.
Set your alarm clock. Do that.
  • 17:11 - 17:19
To 10.02, as a reminder to you,
about this, about what Jesus is saying,
  • 17:19 - 17:23
    to remind you to pray,
but also keep your focus sharp
  • 17:23 - 17:26
and get a new heart for
    the people out there.
  • 17:26 - 17:29
And God will answer this prayer.
  • 17:29 - 17:32
    And then, please, spread this
    "virus".
  • 17:32 - 17:36
    This "virus" you are commanded
    to spread.
  • 17:36 - 17:37
    You are allowed to spread.
  • 17:37 - 17:40
    Spread this "virus" to everyone
    out there
  • 17:40 - 17:46
and let's see a prayer movement,
where people start to pray biblical,
  • 17:46 - 17:49
    pray according to God's Word,
  • 17:49 - 17:53
because then we know He answers
and give us what we prayed for.
  • 17:53 - 17:59
And I have testimony after testimony,
    after testimony, of that.
  • 17:59 - 18:01
But I will start to pray now.
    Let me pray.
  • 18:01 - 18:04
God, I pray for everyone who is
    seeing this.
  • 18:04 - 18:08
God, I pray that You will stir
    something up in their hearts.
  • 18:08 - 18:11
And God I pray that You will put
    this on their hearts,
  • 18:11 - 18:15
    that they, together with me,
    may pray, God.
  • 18:15 - 18:17
    God, send out workers, God.
  • 18:17 - 18:20
God, we pray that You will send out
    workers to our city.
  • 18:20 - 18:24
God, we pray that You will send out
    workers to our country, God.
  • 18:24 - 18:29
    God, send out workers.
Drive out workers from our churches, God.
  • 18:29 - 18:32
God, take the people from our churches,
    and we pray, God,
  • 18:32 - 18:36
that You will drive them out, God.
Drive them out in the harvest, God.
  • 18:36 - 18:40
    The harvest that is ready,
the harvest that is plentiful, God.
  • 18:40 - 18:43
The harvest is not the problem.
    The problem is the workers,
  • 18:43 - 18:46
    and workers are few.
    So God, we pray...
  • 18:46 - 18:50
we stand together and we pray
that You will drive out workers
  • 18:50 - 18:51
    to the harvest, God.
  • 18:51 - 18:56
And we will see that the harvest is
ready and plentiful, as You have said.
  • 18:56 - 18:58
    Hallelujah!
  • 18:59 - 19:03
    Pray this. Keep praying this.
    Stand together with me.
  • 19:03 - 19:06
    Pray this every morning and
    every evening, during the day,
  • 19:06 - 19:09
and see how it's going to transform
    your life.
  • 19:09 - 19:13
Until next time, share this video
    and spread the "virus"
  • 19:13 - 19:17
to millions of people out there.
Spread it as much as you can.
  • 19:17 - 19:20
And then we will see more workers
    go out,
  • 19:20 - 19:23
    find the person of peace,
as we are going to talk about later,
  • 19:23 - 19:27
go into the households, healing the sick,
    casting out demons,
  • 19:27 - 19:31
and we will see a move of God
like we have never ever seen before.
  • 19:31 - 19:34
    God bless you!
    See you next time! Bye-bye!
  • 19:36 - 19:38
