Not Synced
Many years ago when I studied
-
Not Synced
in the United States I went to a church
-
Not Synced
where they had a guest preacher
-
Not Synced
and after a great message about
-
Not Synced
the miracle of the seed of faith,
-
Not Synced
the preacher invited us to give
-
Not Synced
a seed of faith, an offering.
-
Not Synced
But he said this time
-
Not Synced
that offering will not be
-
Not Synced
to the church but to him.
-
Not Synced
"With his left hand you are going
-
Not Synced
to give your offering and with
-
Not Synced
the right hand I'm going to bless you."
-
Not Synced
All of us where so much blessed
-
Not Synced
with his message that
-
Not Synced
we went to the front for giving
-
Not Synced
the offering and I only had
-
Not Synced
twenty dollars in my pocket,
-
Not Synced
that was everything I had for
-
Not Synced
surviving that month,
-
Not Synced
but I was willing to give
-
Not Synced
everything. But while I was
-
Not Synced
waiting in the line the Holy Spirit
-
Not Synced
told me not to do it.
-
Not Synced
And i still remember today
-
Not Synced
the right moment when God
-
Not Synced
talked to me. He was warning me
-
Not Synced
about those preachers who
-
Not Synced
take advantage of the principles
-
Not Synced
of the Word of the Lord
-
Not Synced
in order to get rich.
-
Not Synced
Many years after when we
-
Not Synced
were already running this church,
-
Not Synced
other pastors of the city
-
Not Synced
invited us to hold an event
-
Not Synced
with them, where they invited
-
Not Synced
some special preachers but
-
Not Synced
I didn't feel peace,
-
Not Synced
so I didn't invite the church,
-
Not Synced
but just a few leaders and
-
Not Synced
one of the preachers gave
-
Not Synced
a similar message about
-
Not Synced
the miracle of the seed of faith
-
Not Synced
and then he exactly the same:
-
Not Synced
"I'm going to gather an offering
-
Not Synced
and this one will be
-
Not Synced
your seed of faith,
-
Not Synced
but this offering won't be
-
Not Synced
to the church but to me,
-
Not Synced
my ministry". Can you imagine?
-
Not Synced
He was going to steal us
-
Not Synced
in the house of the Father!
-
Not Synced
So, preachers like that have
gotten rich by using
-
Not Synced
the miracle of the seed of faith
-
Not Synced
for their own benefit.
-
Not Synced
That's why many people
-
Not Synced
don't want to hear anything about it,
-
Not Synced
but that's a biblical principle.
-
Not Synced
That's why I have split this message
-
Not Synced
in two. I'm going to talk about
-
Not Synced
this spiritual law but first,
-
Not Synced
I'm going to warn you about
-
Not Synced
those who get rich by using the gospel.
-
Not Synced
Paul says on 1 Timothy 6: 5-10:
-
Not Synced
"It's true some people preach
-
Not Synced
about Christ with envy and strife".
-
Not Synced
Whatsoever shows us that we can
-
Not Synced
preach the message from God
-
Not Synced
but with an evil intention.
-
Not Synced
And it continues with:
-
Not Synced
"Those preach about Christ
-
Not Synced
with personal ambition and
-
Not Synced
not with pure intentions".
-
Not Synced
Serving God is not a business.
-
Not Synced
Paul also writes to Timothy
-
Not Synced
on 1 Timothy 6: 5:
-
Not Synced
"Individuals like these always
-
Not Synced
cause trouble. For them,
-
Not Synced
submitting to God is only a means
-
Not Synced
to get rich. Well now, the real
-
Not Synced
submission to God is a great
-
Not Synced
richness itself when we are glad
-
Not Synced
with what we got. After all,
-
Not Synced
for we brought nothing into the world,
-
Not Synced
and we can take nothing out of it."
-
Not Synced
So, if we have food and clothing,
-
Not Synced
we will be content with that.
-
Not Synced
Those who want to get rich
-
Not Synced
fall into temptation and a trap
-
Not Synced
and into many foolish and
-
Not Synced
harmful desires that plunge people
-
Not Synced
into ruin and destruction."
-
Not Synced
The three sins that disqualify anybody
-
Not Synced
to serve God are, in first place:
-
Not Synced
the desire for power.
-
Not Synced
In second place: the sexual immorality.
-
Not Synced
And in third place: the love of money.
-
Not Synced
Jesus said on Matthew 12:33:
-
Not Synced
"A tree is identified by its fruit.
-
Not Synced
If a tree is good, its fruit will be good.
-
Not Synced
If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad."
-
Not Synced
So, a preacher, a pastor or a leader
-
Not Synced
will be known by his fruit.
-
Not Synced
And the fruit of a person who loves
-
Not Synced
the wealth are, in first place,
-
Not Synced
believing a church is a business, but
-
Not Synced
that's not like that. A church
-
Not Synced
or serving God is a calling,
-
Not Synced
never can be a means for
-
Not Synced
getting rich. BUt another fruit
-
Not Synced
of someone who loves money is
-
Not Synced
that he is never content with
-
Not Synced
what he has. Always wants more,
-
Not Synced
the ultimate car, changing his house
-
Not Synced
all the time. The more expensive
-
Not Synced
clothes, the ultimate cell phone.
-
Not Synced
When I met my wife she belonged
-
Not Synced
to a well-off family, they were wealthy.
-
Not Synced
Instead, I wasn't.
-
Not Synced
Besides, I was called to serve God.
-
Not Synced
It means, living by faith.
-
Not Synced
I didn't guarantee her anything.
-
Not Synced
Then Jesus said on Matthew 16:24:
-
Not Synced
"If any of you wants to be my follower,
-
Not Synced
you must give up your own way,
-
Not Synced
take up your cross, and follow me."
