[I used to be a Healthy Energetic Girl
I graduated in Musical Theatre]

[And performed in Professional Shows
inc. Sandy in Grease]

[I was a singer / Songwriter Musician
Working in the Studio with]

[Producers around the world
...I was Happy]

[Imagine if one day
life disappeared forever]

[Suddenly overnight
I became Seriously ill, Disabled in Bed]

[I lost the ability to Walk Eat Talk
Suffered 20 Seizures & Panic Attacks a day]

[Spent years in A&E + Hospitals
I saw 50+ doctos who said]

[There was nothing wrong with me
...They were WRONG]

[Good news! Your lab results look great.]

[Everything is normal;
you are the picture of health]

["You're faking it."]

[Oh really, I had no idea you were
inside my body and could feel my pain.]

[And what is it, do you suppose,
that I could gain from "faking it"?]

[Because being unable to move, being in pain,
being medicated ... Yeah, that's totally 'cool'...]

[I was Labeled a Liar Hypocondriac
Faking it for Attention]

[I just wanted to be BELIEVED]

[Eventually Diagnosed
With M.E. then Lyme Disease]

[I was Left ALONE with No help]

[M.E. isn't Tiredness
Your Whole body SHUTS DOWN]

[It SUCKS all of the life out of you]

[Myalgic Encephalomyelitis [ME)]

[What are the symptoms of this complex,
multisystemic and chronic illesss? ..."]

[I think one of the worst parts
of having a chronic illness]

[is how sometimes it just breaks you.]

[You can have several bad days in a row
and handle it just fine;]

[then one day you lose it because you've
gone so long taking it]

[that you eventually get to a point
where you just can't do it anymore]

[After a period of inconsolable grief,
you pick yourself up and begin the cycle anew.]

[I'M FINE]

[She is M.E.]

[I am a spoonie.]

[I am strong, fearless, a fighter, a warrior,
a pin cushion, a doctor with no diploma,]

[I'm a pill popping, ice bag wearing, heating
pad sharing, fun loving, smiling through tears,]

[hard working, not giving up, coffee in my cup,
socializing, people surprising, mesmerizing,]

[hand sanitizing, big hearted, never departed,
hand lending, special time spending,]

[body fighting spoonie.
What's your super power?]

["I dream of a long sleep.
I dream of pain free days.]

[I dream of understanding.
I dream of compassion.]

[I dream of the person I was.]

[I dream of waking up to my old life
to find that all of this has been a bad dream,]

[and I am me again."]

[Waking up in the dark
I feel this fragile beating heart]

[Black deepest hole
Lonely invades my soul]

[Lost deserted mind
Bury me from sin]

[Darkness comes the night
Monster inside of me]

[Restless creeping pains
Crawling through my veins ~Suzi]

[Silent and still
In the Dead of night]

[The Restless mind wonders
Playing tricks on me]

[Nightmares and Dreams
Merging into one]

[A Long vivid journey
I Search for the Perpetual Light]

[To guide me
Through the Raging Storm ~Suzi]

[POEM~FIRE]

[You Feel the Fire inside
Fade Away till it's only a flicker]

[Nothingness Surrounds you
Your Heart is so heavy]

[Sadness Consumes you]

[Then Somehow out of the darkness
The Voice of Courage]

[Whispers in your ear
Do not give up today]

It gives me the strength]

With the struggles of living with illness]
