Rose Nail Tutorial - ULTA Whim Nail Lacquer

and today I've partnered with ULTA

to show you a simple rose nail tutorial

using their new whim. nail polish line

whim. is exclusive to ULTA in stores

and on ULTA.com

whim. is a high shine gel like nail lacquer

that goes on like a polish but wears like a gel

this is a 3 step system

that features the starter or Base Coat

The paint, or nail lacquer

and the finisher, or Top Coat

Out of the 58 shades in the whim. collection

for this look I used these shades

Marshmallow Mousse

a white cream

TGIF, a dark pink cream

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

a light pink cream

and Mojito Mint

a mint cream

and as for the tools

I used a bobby pin

some toothpicks

and a wedge makeup sponge

first apply your base coat

to all of your nails

For the thumb, index and pinky

I painted a white base color

and after that dried I

sponged on the light pink and white

to create a nice gradient

Then after I cleaned up the skin

I dipped a bobby pin in the darker pink

and added a single dot

For the middle nail I applied

that same white base color

then I dipped my toothpick in the

darker pink and I made little

curved lines to make the center

of the rose

Just add curved lines from the center

outwards and soon you will have

a rose shape

I then switched to the lighter pink

and I added more curved lines to fill up the rose

To add a little more dimension

and highlights I added a little bit

of that lighter pink

to the center

To finish off the rose print I dipped

another toothpick in the mint green

and I painted a few simple leaves
