  • 0:08 - 0:12
    Now, your boss was right
    when here she said
  • 0:12 - 0:14
    fail to plan
    or plan to fail
  • 0:14 - 0:17
    But they weren't right
    about your job
  • 0:17 - 0:19
In this video, I'm going to go
    over the 3 common mistakes
  • 0:19 - 0:21
    that you may be making
    in your e-commerce business
  • 0:21 - 0:23
and what to do about it
  • 0:23 - 0:24
    Hi, my name is
    Beau Crabill
  • 0:24 - 0:27
and in the past decade, I've been
    growing e-commerce businesses
  • 0:27 - 0:29
    And surprisingly,
    believe it or not
  • 0:29 - 0:32
    I got started off
    with selling socks
  • 0:32 - 0:34
    And things were doing
very, very well at the start
  • 0:34 - 0:35
    Then as things
    started to slip away
  • 0:35 - 0:39
I spent years to trial and error
on making sure to figure it out
  • 0:39 - 0:44
And as I perfected my methods,
I saw so many self-proclaimed gurus
  • 0:44 - 0:47
    giving misleading information
on YouTube and on the internet
  • 0:47 - 0:49
and I know I wanted to
    help more people
  • 0:49 - 0:51
    So let me take you
    downstairs right now
  • 0:51 - 0:54
    and explain to you about
    these 3 common mistakes
  • 1:00 - 1:04
    Mistake #1 is trying
    to recreate the wheel
  • 1:04 - 1:07
    That you think to succeed
    in e-commerce on Amazon
  • 1:07 - 1:08
    you gotta create up your
    own brands and products
  • 1:08 - 1:10
    You think you're gonna be
    the next new Shark Tank
  • 1:10 - 1:11
    the next new Apple
  • 1:11 - 1:12
    I'm gonna
    tell you right now
  • 1:12 - 1:15
    that's not where the money
    is made with e-commerce
  • 1:15 - 1:18
    Over 51% of Amazon sellers
right now are trying to private label
  • 1:18 - 1:20
    which means you're trying
to create up your own brands
  • 1:20 - 1:22
    But let's look
    at the numbers
  • 1:22 - 1:24
10% of the sellers who do over
a million dollars a year on Amazon
  • 1:24 - 1:26
which, I do well over a million
    dollars a year on Amazon
  • 1:26 - 1:27
    create up their own brand
  • 1:27 - 1:30
    The rest are reselling
    other people's brands
  • 1:30 - 1:32
Do what me and other sellers
are doing at the higher levels
  • 1:32 - 1:34
    in selling big name
    brand products
  • 1:34 - 1:38
    I'm talking about Hasbro,
    Mattel, Samsung, Sony
  • 1:38 - 1:39
    Why is this so important?
  • 1:39 - 1:42
    Well, let's think about
    the company Walmart, right?
  • 1:42 - 1:45
    What works offline
    tends to work online
  • 1:45 - 1:47
    Walmart, they do roughly
half a trillion dollars a year
  • 1:47 - 1:50
    They do more than Amazon
  • 1:50 - 1:52
And have you ever seen Walmart
    create up their own brand?
  • 1:52 - 1:54
They have a couple of their own,
    but majority of their revenues
  • 1:54 - 1:57
    99% of their revenues
    and profits are made
  • 1:57 - 1:59
    through selling other
    big name brand products
  • 1:59 - 2:02
    Best Buy does not own
    one brand in their store
  • 2:02 - 2:03
    GameStop, none
  • 2:03 - 2:05
    Target, none
  • 2:05 - 2:06
    So why do you think
  • 2:06 - 2:09
that you can go on Amazon,
which is just another shopping mall
  • 2:09 - 2:10
    and try to go recreate
    your own brands
  • 2:10 - 2:11
    So let's think about this,
    even if you do
  • 2:11 - 2:14
    become a great marketer
    and a great advertiser
  • 2:14 - 2:17
get a great brand going on,
    great brand equity
  • 2:17 - 2:19
    The odds are that in
a couple of years from now
  • 2:19 - 2:20
    that brand's
    gonna be obsolete
  • 2:20 - 2:21
I know a lot of friends
  • 2:21 - 2:23
who were making a lot of money
a couple of years ago in e-commerce
  • 2:23 - 2:25
    had some great sites
    and launched on Amazon
  • 2:25 - 2:27
    And now, you know,
    they're working a job
  • 2:27 - 2:31
    Because the odds of Hasbro,
    Mattel, Samsung, Apple, Sony
  • 2:31 - 2:33
    All these big brands
  • 2:33 - 2:35
    they will be in business
in 10, 20 years from now
  • 2:35 - 2:38
But there, I can 100% guarantee,
there will be a big brand
  • 2:38 - 2:40
    in business in 10,
    15, 20 years from now
  • 2:40 - 2:43
    as long as Americans and
    consumers are still shopping
  • 2:43 - 2:47
    So I'd rather create
    relationships with distributors
  • 2:47 - 2:49
    and wholesalers throughout
    the United States
  • 2:49 - 2:53
    And buy products low
    from them at wholesale prices
  • 2:53 - 2:54
    of big name brands
    and selling them for more
  • 2:54 - 2:57
instead of trying to go recreate
the wheel and sell my own products
  • 2:57 - 3:01
Mistake #2 is going to be
  • 3:01 - 3:03
    not having a plan,
    failing to plan
  • 3:03 - 3:05
    Most people that are running
    an e-commerce business
  • 3:05 - 3:07
    think that they see
    videos like this
  • 3:07 - 3:09
They think it's all easy and
    press a couple of buttons
  • 3:09 - 3:10
    make a bunch of money
  • 3:10 - 3:13
    And that's not
    accurate at all
  • 3:13 - 3:16
If I ask a hundred people who are
    running e-commerce businesses
  • 3:16 - 3:18
    what makes you the
    most amount of money
  • 3:18 - 3:19
    they have no idea
  • 3:20 - 3:21
    They don't know their ROI
  • 3:21 - 3:22
    they don't know their
    cost per acquisition
  • 3:22 - 3:24
    they don't know
    their advertising cost
  • 3:24 - 3:25
    They don't know
    what actions
  • 3:25 - 3:27
they need to double down on
    to make them more money
  • 3:27 - 3:29
They don't know what the biggest
    mistake is in their business
  • 3:29 - 3:31
    They're working in their business,
    they're running a hobby
  • 3:31 - 3:34
    So if you can't
    answer those questions
  • 3:34 - 3:36
    you are running a hobby
    and not a business
  • 3:36 - 3:39
    So start to position yourself,
    realizing where's your end goal
  • 3:39 - 3:40
    and start to work
    backwards from there
  • 3:40 - 3:42
    Okay, you wanna do
    $100,000 a year
  • 3:42 - 3:44
    $10,000 a month,
    whatever it is, work backwards
  • 3:44 - 3:47
    Okay, how much inventory
do I need in my store?
  • 3:47 - 3:48
    What's the margins
    that I need?
  • 3:48 - 3:50
How much time does it take me
    to go source those out?
  • 3:50 - 3:52
    How much capital
    does it take?
  • 3:52 - 3:54
    Do I need other people
    doing things for me?
  • 3:54 - 3:56
Do I need to invest into
    softwares and tools?
  • 3:56 - 3:57
    Do I even know
    what I'm doing?
  • 3:57 - 3:58
    Maybe they think, oh
  • 3:58 - 4:00
    I'm just gonna sign up,
    call it good
  • 4:00 - 4:01
    It's not how it works
  • 4:01 - 4:08
    The third common mistake
is not utilizing software tools and data
  • 4:08 - 4:12
    in this technology-rich world
    to get an unfair advantage
  • 4:12 - 4:13
    When you have people
like me who know how to use
  • 4:13 - 4:15
    technology, software, and tools
  • 4:15 - 4:17
    Have their softwares
    and tools himself
  • 4:17 - 4:20
And you who's trying to do
    things the old-fashioned way
  • 4:20 - 4:26
    trying to be very scarce-minded
and not invest, you're gonna lose out
  • 4:26 - 4:28
    Amazon has so much data
  • 4:28 - 4:32
I can tell right away on Amazon,
on if a product sells or not
  • 4:32 - 4:34
I can see how many sales
    are happening off of this
  • 4:34 - 4:36
    I can see how many
    reviews are going on
  • 4:36 - 4:38
    I can see what customers
    are leaving feedback on
  • 4:38 - 4:42
And very close to the penny,
I can figure out what my profits will be
  • 4:42 - 4:44
    before I invest into
    any types of products
  • 4:44 - 4:47
because I know how to read the
    data that Amazon provides me
  • 4:47 - 4:50
    So don't skimp out,
    take advantage of the tools
  • 4:50 - 4:51
    take advantage
    of the software
  • 4:51 - 4:54
    and just don't run it
    all by yourself
  • 4:54 - 4:57
    If you're anything
like I was 10 years ago
  • 4:57 - 5:00
    information, knowledge,
    and tools is everything
  • 5:00 - 5:03
    You can spend hours and
    hours a day on YouTube
  • 5:03 - 5:05
    and still have no idea
    where to start
  • 5:05 - 5:08
    If you implement just the
advice given to you in this video
  • 5:08 - 5:11
    you'll be way ahead
    than most
  • 5:11 - 5:14
    However, I wanna
    give you something more
  • 5:14 - 5:17
    Something that I wish
    I had 10 years ago
  • 5:17 - 5:21
I've put together and worked hard
    on a 4-day online training
  • 5:21 - 5:24
    where I break down
    in details on my process
  • 5:24 - 5:28
Pitfalls to avoid and how to
    absolutely crush it in e-commerce
  • 5:28 - 5:30
Now, I wanna make it an
    absolute no-brainer for you
  • 5:30 - 5:32
    so I made it
    completely free
  • 5:32 - 5:34
All you need to do right now
    is click on this video
  • 5:34 - 5:36
    and get registered,
    enter in your details
  • 5:36 - 5:39
    to get in to the
    4-day online training
  • 5:39 - 5:41
    Listen, I'm gonna be
    very blunt with you
  • 5:41 - 5:42
    my training is awesome
  • 5:42 - 5:44
    And of course
    I'm gonna say that
  • 5:44 - 5:46
but I'll see so many people
    talk about how, you know
  • 5:46 - 5:48
    we only have a certain
    amount of seats available
  • 5:48 - 5:50
    it's only for today,
    while supplies last
  • 5:50 - 5:54
    We both know
    that's just complete BS
  • 5:54 - 5:56
    But the fact is that
    most people watching this
  • 5:56 - 5:58
    won't do anything
    and won't take action
  • 5:58 - 5:59
    Why is that?
  • 6:00 - 6:03
    Humans, it is much easier
for us to stay as we are
  • 6:03 - 6:04
    than to change,
    and I get it
  • 6:04 - 6:07
    Change is hard,
    change can be scary
  • 6:07 - 6:09
    And maybe there's
    something about you
  • 6:09 - 6:13
    that you have a fear
    to make a change
  • 6:13 - 6:16
to invest into training, to take
    action on my advice, implement
  • 6:16 - 6:18
    'Cause maybe your business
    may change so much
  • 6:18 - 6:20
    that your life even changes
  • 6:20 - 6:22
    So click the link
    on this video right now
  • 6:22 - 6:26
get registered for the 4-day training,
and I'll see you on there
  • 6:26 - 6:29
    But how long are you
    gonna stay as you are?
  • 6:29 - 6:32
    If you don't invest
    into the training today
  • 6:32 - 6:33
    that's exactly
    what's gonna happen
  • 6:33 - 6:37
    Now, if everything's great,
things are great, life is great, cool
  • 6:37 - 6:41
If not, click the link on this video,
get registered for the 4-day training
  • 6:41 - 6:43
and I'll see you on there

What do you have to risk,
    it's completely for free
  • 6:45 - 6:47
    You can get some amazing
    information from me
  • 6:47 - 6:49
    who's growing successful
    e-commerce businesses
  • 6:49 - 6:52
So click the link on this video
and get registered for the training
