Using on-demand passwords

Begin on the Yahoo home page

Click your name

Or begin on another Yahoo page

Click the gear icon

Select Account info

You may be asked to re-enter your password

If so, type your current password and click Sign In

Now you're on your account page

Click Account security

To use on-demand passwords, you first need to turn them on

Click Set up on-demand passwords

Enter a mobile phone number where we can send you an opt-in verification code

Enter the code that you receive on your phone

Make sure that your account recovery information is up to date

If not, you could get locked out of your account!

Click Looks good

Congratulations! Your account now uses on-demand passwords

The next time you need to sign in...

Enter your user name as usual

Click Send my password

We'll send a temporary password to your mobile device

Enter the password, then click Sign In

Congratulations! You're signed in!

And you didn't have to remember a password!
