I'm having my hair set.

I might not be able to talk that well today.

I got my hair done,

and rehearsals are starting soon.

Everyone's getting ready inside,

so I've come outside for now.

BEST☆Xmas is...

I think it's our 11th one.

It's basically SCANDAL's most popular solo concert.

That's how exciting it is.

It's a really popular, special concert for our fans, too.

The very first one

was held at LIQUID ROOM [in Ebisu].

Then it moved to [Akasaka] BLITZ,

and now for the past few years it's been at Toyosu PIT.

We hold this concert every year.

We perform special songs,

we sing and dance, etc.

We're an all-girl band that hails from a dance & vocal training school, after all.

The concept is about us doing everything we can do.

It's a Christmas and a year-end party.

It's a solo concert that has a party-feel to it

that we hold every year.

Thinking about how it's our 11th one

kind of makes me feel emotional.

We've done so many.

This year [2022]...

For us, it was a year full of fun things,

and it was also a tough year.

What kind of year was it like for you guys?

Like...

We held a world tour

and went to many places and countries

to deliver our album.

We met all kinds of people this year.

We were finally able to do more things little by little,

and started to move again little by little.

As more things start moving again,

we have more things to think about,

as well as many things we're unsure of.

We've managed to recover after stumbling hard,

and, at any rate, have reached the end of the year.

You guys all worked hard.

I also worked hard.

You guys did so well this year!

Though we all had tough times,

we made it through another year.

Today'll be a fun day.

We're doing a lot of stuff.

During this time of year

we always have so many things to memorize,

so I really have no space in my head right now.

Every year it's like this.

But it'll be a fun show,

so for those coming out,

we'll do everything to make it a fun time.

We'll do our best!

I have so many presents and stuff with me today

that I didn't have room fot my camera.

I'm filming this on my phone.

Apologies for that.

It's just one of those days.

We have shoots to do before and after rehearsals,

so I might not have much time to film.

But I didn't really think I'd film today.

I always film at our Christmas concerts,

so I thought that maybe everyone would be tired of seeing footage from it.

I didn't know if I should make a video about it.

But when I opened my DMs this morning,

I had gotten messages that said things like

how they planned to come but couldn't because their family tested positive for COVID.

I got all sorts of messages.

And...

Thinking about you guys

and how it made me glad that you guys were taking actions,

I thought it'd be nice if I could leave behind even a little of the atmosphere today

and so am filming a video.

So, I'll find some time during breaks

and film things here and there.

I think I'll go back to the dressing room.

I got my Christmas nails done yesterday.

Lately, I've been doing nuance nails with accessories on them,

as well as doing dainty, mirrored French tips.

Mine today have a gray gradient to them.

We're back!

Toyosu PIT is where we always spend Christmas.

Were starting rehearsals now.

We successfully finished our last solo concert of the year, and on the way back home we drove through a special, sparkly city in Tokyo🎄

I'm back at home,

and it's been a day since the concert.

It's Christmas today, the 25th.

Our Christmas Eve concert yesterday was so much fun!

Thanks so much to everyone who came out!

Thanks as well to everyone who wasn't able to come but was following along via social media!

It was so exciting!

It was amazing.

The rules were relaxed

so that a little bit of vocalization was okay,

and seeing those among packed standing room-only audience

vocalizing and having fun naturally,

and us hearing all those sounds...

It felt like some new progress has been made.

It was emotional and a lot of fun.

We have two more festivals to play in 2022.

So while our solo concerts are done for 2022,

we still have some live performances to do.

We can't take a breather yet,

but there's a week left in 2022.

We've gotten here in no time at all.

We'll put on some good performances

and wrap things up nicely.

We announced several things at the concert yesterday.

The first one is...

In January 2022 we released our album "MIRROR,"

toured around halls in Japan,

and toured in the US and Europe.

The footage we shot overseas was turned into a film.

That documentary film was streamed on U-NEXT a little while ago.

It will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on February 22.

So, those who missed out on seeing it,

and those who wanted a physical copy of it,

please check it out and enjoy it whenever you're able to.

At the end of the year, we always think of how it's nice to be able to

finish off the year by telling everyone our plans for next year.

So, we announced our Japan tour happening in 2023.

For 2023...

In 2022 we toured at halls in Japan.

We thought about going to smaller venues this time,

and from April to May

we'll be touring around Zepp-owned venues around Japan.

In Sendai we're playing at Sendai GIGS.

I can't wait.

More vocalization will hopefully be allowed by then.

We expect that a lot of things will change by then.

We'll be getting ready for it

while looking forward to it all.

The title of the tour is "unlimited UTOPIA."

Doesn't the title get you excited?

I really like it.

I wonder what kind of tour it'll be.

I feel like we can make more progress on this tour.

I think it'll be an important tour.

Concerts are what we love and cherish the most.

We're proud of the concerts we put on.

It's the one and only place

where we as the band SCANDAL

can express everything we're thinking

with our own music and words.

That's why we cherish them,

and the top thing we want everyone to see.

There are many people who attend by themselves,

and there are people of all ages and genders that come out.

Most importantly,

those who are in our fan club

create such a good atmosphere at the concerts,
