In this video you will learn

how to make the best use
of Smartling's video feature.

Once you've clicked into a resource
in the GTC portal,

you will have access
to Smartling's translation interface.

You will then be able to see the video
of the lecture you are working on

and an area
to do do the actual translation.

The left side of the translation area
shows you the original English subtitles

and then the right half allows you to see
translations that were made previously,

as well as complete unfinished strings.

If you'd like to start
working on new strings

and then see your strings only,

simply switch from All Workflows
to Current Workflow.

The video will then start playing
until the end of the first string.

(Narrator) You can type in
your translation here.

Once you've finished translating
one string

and are ready to start the next one,

the video will then automatically start
playing the part of the next string.

click on Replay.

translating subtitles,

you will see your translations displayed
in the video right away

and if you actually prefer
seeing English subtitles instead,

click on Context Language and then select
Show Original.

You will then be able to see
English subtitles

in the video that you are working on.

Once you've finished translating
some of the strings,

you may want to check if your translations
are smooth enough.

You can then switch back from
Current Workflow to All Workflows.

of all strings, click on Autoscroll.

The video will then play
through all strings by itself.

Now, at the start of every class,
we try to define concepts --

the strings really quick or really slow,

you can change the Playback speed.

Let's say you want to double the speed.

and asked Google

what statistics is good for
and it came up with this:

"Statistics is the practice or science
of collecting and analyzing data

"in large quantities, especially for the --"
