I was going through your filmography and
on one side you've done movies like

Dear Zindagi, The Sky is Pink,
where you have a Priyanka Chopra

you have Alia Bhatt and at the same
time you have done stuff which is

you know people of your age, more
like fresh faces starting together

where do you feel more comfortable? If I could put it that way

Aaina, I'll be honest, I mean I
feel like I feel comfortable on set

it could be any set, of course, I started off with you know

with Dear Zindagi, Hichki or let's
say the sky is pink but I think

everyone wants to progress in life
and I think the progression to

from where I started to where I am now
has been the projects now that I'm doing

which are you know Mismatched then
Ishq Vishq where people are starting together

I think it's also comforting to be on sets
where you have such veteran actors

Like Priyanka and Alia and all of them, they're just fabulous

you know you feel secure but at the same time I think

the thrill of exploring so much all
on your own, when you're doing

projects like Mismatched and Ishq Vishq,
when you're leading it so

the thrill of that is a lot more because
I think the responsibility is a lot more

but I think I've been so lucky to work with the

the best kind of people

Alia and Priyanka they've been absolutely fantastic

Very recently I've worked with Hrithik on Vikram Vedha

I was so nervous before going on set
because I heard so much that you know

he's a very prepared actor and

he's fantastic and you know he's
very very particular about the way

he likes the scenes and all of that and I

I was not going prepared for that project in general because

I literally finished filming Mismatched on 16th of October

and on the 17th of October, I was
in Abu Dhabi shooting for Vikram Vedha

it was like there was no basically no turnaround at all but

again like I said that I think it's that
feeling, the jitters and you know

the nervousness only is only that only
exists till the time we start shooting

Right. And the moment I started filming with him, it was party

It was amazing, I recently like 3 days ago I was dubbing for it

That was the first time I ever
saw something of Vikram Vedha

because even while I was on set, I
was so nervous that I wouldn't go

and look at myself in the monitor

Oh okay.

Because I would just be nervous in general and

I would see all their reactions you know and

I'd be standing in front of the monitor
and they'd be watching the take

and I'd see their reaction and I would
gauge whether they like it or not

By seeing their reaction

What I want to know is this image that you have

the chocolate boy, and the natural crush and stuff like that

what are the cos that come with it?

What are the cons that come with it? Yeah.

Like of course, there are the pros that
we all know about but what is the

downside to you know having this image?

The one which I have you know very

It's very obvious in my head right
now as we speak about it is that

earlier until let's say about a year ago
maybe 2 years ago not year ago

but 2 years ago I used to step out

looking like crap and I wouldn't give a damn about it

Like, I wouldn't think twice before stepping out

even if I haven't showered I wouldn't
care I'd just step out and

run errands and see a couple of friends or whatever

I think I started getting conscious about that now

Oh yeah that does happen

I always end up wearing white t-shirts and black t-shirts

that's a different thing but I always do kind of

think about oh am I looking presentable enough?

Can I step out like this?

and I don't enjoy that
I don't enjoy-

the pressure a little bit

I don't know if it's a pressure that I that is

that actually exists or if I'm taking
it upon myself without you know

anyone actually causing it

so that's one thing that I'm

very, it's very obvious in my life there's an obvious change

I don't know whether it's a con I
would like to think that it's a con

Because I'm not enjoying it

but... so far other than that nothing

yeah of course, it's a great overwhelming feeling

I want to know, from the first day till now
since you've been in this industry

have the kind of script choices
that you make has it changed like

what kind of content are you looking
forward to personally to play like

is there a character that you want to play
or a kind of film that you want to go for

I didn't have a lot of choice in the kind of
work I was doing in the sense like

I'd get one film in like 2 years

you know I'd bag-
if I give 10 auditions,

maybe I'd bag like one, or sometimes not even that

So, I didn't have so much to choose from

However, now I'm not saying, I
have like 15,000 scripts lying in my

you know house to read but the kind of
films that I really really want to be a part of

If I were to give you one film example, I think

and this thing has been constant for the last 10 years

and I don't think it's ever going
to change that I want to do films like

Wake Up Sid

There's a certain sense of relatability, there's this you know

i feel happy every single time I watch it having said that

there's also a flip side to it you know
there are most days that I feel like this

and there's a flip side where I feel like I want to do

I want to do parts where I could never imagine myself like

I want to do parts which-

action-thriller maybe

Okay so I did a little bit of action in Vikram Vedha

it was mad exciting and I can't tell you like

I was so nervous about it because I've
never done action, when you're doing action

with Hrithik Roshan and then you're
doing action with people who are

twice your size, I was very intimidated but when I did it

The kind of adrenaline I felt was just outstanding

So, I do want to do it at some point having said that right now

I think the one that

I struggle with usually is that people
find it hard to see me in characters

which are not necessarily urban

Yeah, I think it's something like you said, Wake Up Sid

It's totally like I can imagine you as Sid in that film so I kind of

get where you're coming from

you know I was going through one
of your interviews and you said that

You're very ambitious as a person
Yes [Rohit]

Of course, and maybe you know that's
what you notice in people as well

The first thing or one of the things so have you ever felt like-

is it a turn-off if someone is not ambitious?
Is it that for you?

I think I would remember people more if they are ambitious

listen, I've been meeting some incredibly ambitious women

you know, look at yourself, look
at Kasvi all you guys are amazing

so i think yeah I think I remember people more

when they're ambitious, I don't think it's a turn off

but I think it's just nicer
to have that [Aaina]

So how do you place your ambition currently in your life?

If your work is stagnant at a point, how do you deal with it?

Because it can get frustrating.

I don't. I make everyone around me miserable because

i whine a lot when I'm not doing
anything I think I need to work on that

I've been told by a lot of mostly my friends and family

whine? describe like what do you do?

like do you tell yourself-

I become a difficult person as
actors you can't constantly shun

from one project to the other unless you're like

well you're in the big league where
you're constantly signing films

At least for me I'm not there for example,
the first 5 months of this year

I was sitting at home and yes of course I knew that there is

Ishq Vishq, that's about to happen, I knew there is

Vikram Vedha schedule that's left
and all of that but it's just I'm not

I'm not great when I'm at home

But do you ever feel insecure?

Of course, all the time.

In what way because for everyone
it's like oh Rohit looks perfect

he's the national crush,what is your insecurity?

Today I'm insecure about something
tomorrow I'll be insecure about something else

you know like,

like I feel like I lost a lot of weight while I was in Dehradun

and I was feeling insecure about how
thin I had become which is why

I'm wearing this massive jacket
you know people can't see my arms

but I think insecurity is a huge part of

who we are as people in general and I
think it's not necessarily the worst thing

it's also a good thing because it
leaves you room for improvement

because you know you're constantly wanting to improve

you want to be the best version of yourself

For example, I started working out like 4 days ago

only because I was feeling insecure about
my arms or about my body in general

I would never, I hate working out

My pizza's kept right over there, but
I haven't had it because you know I shouldn't

But yeah, i think insecurities aren't necessarily a bad thing

What's the most Bombay thing you've adapted?

What's the most Bombay thing I've adapted

yeah because you're a Delhi boy and
you have these Delhi-Bombay debates

You know I'll be honest i do not
relate to Delhi at all I never have

even when I was living there I never did in the the sense

I am not from Delhi, I was born in
Nepal and I lived in Nepal for 5 years

and then I moved to Delhi I never found

Delhi very relatable in all honesty I think I love Bombay

For how fast it is or how pacey it is,
I mean you're constantly like

on the move and I love that

you know I have to tell you this really
interesting anecdote that has happened

So, a while ago I think a year or so,

It was my best friend's birthday on the
30th of May and she's a huge fan of yours

There was this other friend of mine
from the group and it was a birthday

and we were like you know we need a
bite let's get her a bite from Rohit Saraf

of him wishing her happy birthday and

we didn't know how to connect to
you and so one of our friends was like

you know what I got his number, let me just call him up so,

So that friend of mine called you up

I'm very scared about where this is going!

So a friend of mine calls you up and goes like,

Hi, Rohit my best friend is a huge
fan and we girls are planning this

can you send a video and you're just like and it was creepy

I give that to you it was 100% creepy and you go like,

Yeah, can you tell me who
this friend is? And you've been like

my friend's been like oh it's Apeksha
and stuff and you're like okay

When's the birthday and you were like nicely you were like

we're like yeah okay and my friend's like
