0:00:08.597,0:00:16.237 Al-Bayan, Discourses on the Qur'an[br]by Javed Ahmad Ghamidi 0:00:16.851,0:00:24.101 Surah Aal i Imran[br]Aayaat 77 to 91. 0:00:25.233,0:00:28.193 Gratitude is only for God,[br]the Lord of the World, 0:00:28.193,0:00:30.733 and may His peace and mercy[br]be on Muhammad, the trustworthy. 0:00:30.733,0:00:33.453 I seek refuge with God[br]from the accursed Devil. 0:00:33.453,0:00:35.563 In the Name of God, the Most Gracious,[br]the Ever Merciful. 0:00:35.563,0:00:39.563 Ladies and Gentlemen, We are beginning[br]the study of Surah Aal I Imran 0:00:39.563,0:00:41.703 from verse 77 in the Quran. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In the preceding verses of the Quran, [br]it states that jews are mistaken 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for any special place reserved for [br]them by Allah, due to which 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they consider themselves superior [br]to others. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And that the jews are wrong in saying [br]that God has kept them free 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of any responsibility as compared to [br]the Ishmaelites. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The Quran, addressing the jews clarified [br]that any rank given by Allah is only for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 those who fulfills the covenant, and act [br]in accordance with the covenant 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at any cost; the Quran interprets it as [br]Taqwa (fear of God). 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Those who will act like this will be pious[br]and devout, and God loves to be friends 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with the pious people. Those who disregard[br]the promise to Allah or cross the limit 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 shamelessly claim to be God fearing [br]and pious people. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They are just living in their imaginations[br]and have no relevance. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is what was stated in the preceding verses of the Quran. Innallazeena yashtaroona bi aahdilleahi Indeed, those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a fleeting gain. In the earlier verse, it was mentioned that who are the pious and God fearing people… Now, the Quran states that those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a fleeting gain. What is intended from this covenant? It is evident that it is with regard to covenant asked from jews in relation to God’s Shariah (Islamic Law) and the advent of the Prophet (pbuh). And with respect to the oaths; it is mentioned in context to the oaths by the jews to the Prophets and in specific to help and support Prophet (pbuh). These oaths will be explicitly stated in verse 81, we will learn about them when we read, as to what oaths did they take. Innallazeena yashtaroona bi aahdilleahi va aymeanihim samanan kaaleelan Indeed, those who trade Allah’s covenant and their oaths for a fleeting gain. The Quran stated that, they think of themselves as beloved to God, while trading Allah’s covenant and oaths for fleeting gains. uleaika lea haalaakaa lahum feel eahıraati[br]No matter how religiously they present themselves, and think that they are superior to others, they will have no share in the Hereafter. Those who keep Allah’s covenant and oaths, the ones who have honest affairs and act in accordance with the law of religion. They are the ones who have a share in the Hereafter. uleaika lea haalaakaa lahum feel eahıraati[br]The misconception that the jews have that they are the beloved people of God and that they will be specially treated… In Fact there is no doubt that jews are a special group of people as is stated in the Quran. Jews were chosen by God, given a rank and responsibility. Even after all this the Quran states that the rank given to the jews was based on merit, it was given with a purpose and has its own limitations. However, it is not like; jews will forever enjoy the rank and its status - whereas do no good to the responsibility delegated to them. There is no possibility of it. uleaika lea haalaakaa lahum feel eahıraati they are the ones who will have no share in the Hereafter. va lea yukallimuhumulleahu Allah will not speak to them on the Day of resurrection. They are the ones who are rejected in the court of Allah… In reality this is the outcome of Laanath (Driven out of Gods mercy). In our terminology Laanat is used as an abusive term, but it actually means to drive out someone from Gods mercy. Yukallimuhumulleahu Allah will not speak to them on the Day of resurrection va lea yanzuru ilayhim yavmal kıyeamati and God will not look at them with kindness on the Day of Resurrection. Like you say, God will not even like to see them or look at them with kindness. va lea yuzakkeehim And God will not exonerate them of their sins va lahum aazeabun aleem and for them there is a painful torment. As the Quran states that they will not be exonerated of their sins. What is the meaning of it?
