-
I'm Aziz.
-
I'm from Afghanistan.
-
I came here in 2004.
-
When I entered
-
the Transit Accommodation
Facility for minors
-
it was the first Transit
Accommodation Facility
-
built by Mrs Lora Pappa.
-
I went to this Facility
in 2005.
-
Four years later, in 2010
-
Mrs Pappa invited me
to join Metadrasis.
-
Once I joined Metadrasis
-
our collaboration started
up until today,
-
it's 10 years now,
-
and I'm proud
for being a part of Metadrasis.
-
I started school at Metadrasis.
-
I've finished school here in Greece
-
and I work as an interpreter
at Metadrasis, 10 years now.
-
We help refugees a lot,
-
and minors because I was also
a minor and I know
-
how it was, how it is
for the minors.
-
It's extremely difficult
when you are in a country
-
without any help
and you are completely alone.
-
You need help from people
who can offer help.
-
Metadrasis has really helped
minors in this matter
-
and women who are alone,
-
men who came with their family
and had no help at all.
-
We have assist them
through interpretation,
-
dealing any legal manners
-
and…
-
with anything else
they needed help with.
-
Metadrasis gathered supplies
-
and distribute them
to families and minors,
-
such as clothes, shoes
and milk for their children.
-
I'm Aziz,
I'm from Afghanistan.
-
I came in Greece in 2004.
-
I was an unaccompanied minor.
-
I went to the first Transit
Accommodation Facility
-
for minors that was built by
Lora Pappa, at Anogia in Crete,
-
where I stayed
as an unaccompanied minor.
-
I learned Greek there
-
and then I continued learning
the Greek language there.
-
In 2010, I was invited
by Mrs Lora Pappa
-
to join Metadrasis
as an interpreter.
-
I feel very proud for
being a part of Metadrasis
-
because I was
an unaccompanied minor
-
and I feel how it is
to be an unaccompanied minor.
-
When we offer guardianship
to the unaccompanied minors
-
is very important
to be part of it.
-
I feel very proud to be a member
of Metadrasis organization.
-
Metadrasis is like a family to me.
-
I'm glad to be able
to help all the children
-
who are minors.
-
I am happy to be at Metadrasis
-
and I am able to assist
unaccompanied children.
-
This is the same way
I got here too.
-
We assist them
via interpretation,
-
as it is very important
-
for someone to know
your language and
-
to be able to say
what you want and feel.
-
To be able to have
someone to hear you out.
