Hello everyone, my name is Jessie Tia and I'm the contestant to the social sciences scholarship. You guys wanna introduce yourself? >> Hi, my name is Emily Monroe and I am a friend of Jessie Hello, my name is Josephine whites and I'm a friend of GC also a member of SSV committees. >> So today I'm going to be discussing with Anna Lee and Josep >> The new cultural gap that has been occurring lately even though it has been going on for a while, it's been more predominant over the past couple months to a year. So I just wanted to take you ladies opinions on what do you think has been happening with our Society in our culture, there we have been experiencing this cultural gap in our society where there has been we versus they and a lot of separation basically. So any ideas why this is happening why people have been feeling that Well, a big one has to be the Black Lives Matter movement which has been occurring for since the beginning of year I believe. And the purpose of this was to demonstrate that certain type of wives is Being targeted and a lot of people don't see it that way. And that's kind of like what's kind of splitting us up which is like the gap that I could say because it is something that is occurring and it's still occurring because there's people protesting still there's still people who are on social media saying that this is happening. This is happening. But others believe that it's not a huge issue that it's not something that we should pay attention to because obviously with the elections crew now they wanna focus on that but the Black Lives Matter movement has to deal with the elections and that's like a huge issue that many of the candidates are talking about, and with, with their own views everyone the right with their own opinion It's kind of like splitting us up because we should like be united and be able to be friends no matter what political view, no matter what gender, race, or sexuality you have. It's all about being united, but right now, it's what's keeping us apart. My opinion. >> Right, right. I agree with you that Lot of things socially like race, religion, sexuality.Ethnicities even has been like impacting our culture and our society greatly and it's causing that gap and it sucks because We're all the same at one point like we're all human. So just so awful to see that that's causing an issue in our society. Josephine, do you have anything to add? >> Yeah >> Like, I totally agree with what analysts say. And I also think that we have to talk about it like first we have to talk about it. And second, I think like we have to accept it because. >> When we don't accept it is when labdoo problem comes from. We have to accept that there is no equality, in gender, in race, in sexuality, as you said. And the third I think we have to educate, ourselves. educate people who don't know educate people who don't understand, so that we can all together, find solution and. Become friends. >> Yes. >> Right be the loving human so we're supposed to be. >> Exactly this. We're gonna bring this brings up my second question is how can we so how can we change these issues in our current society? How can we start with us? What are different ways that we can. >> Do good in the world. How can we stop that gap? Do you guys have any ideas? >> I feel like what Josephine said is like acknowledging it and accepting what is occurring. And not Fighting or like arguing, like, calling each other names is not the step that we should take. Be like the step that we should take is, you know, becoming friends, no matter like, no matter what and like accepting each other to be like a first good step. What do you think? Yeah, she brought up a really good point that I like She should communicate, communicate your ideas, your thoughts, your worries, and say to the right people, people that are gonna help you, people that can reach out to others and bring you help. I specifically chose the both of you to discuss this because we are a part of the arts and culture team with Seminole State volunteers. SSV like Josephine said in her in her introduction and. I feel like this is great because we are starting something different as this SSV arts and culture team, we can adjust this gap we can address this gap in our events in our even in our like motto that we are going to talk a lot is to end this gap by communicating with others reaching out with. Others volunteering. So I just want to thank you guys because this has opened our eyes so much and I hope I opened my eyes and I hope it opened your eyes. If we could bring a change in the world then definitely start incorporating that into my personal life and even try to reach out to others and see if it It has been impacting. Cool. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Thank you.
