(arabic) Peace and mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you. Greetings. I am Yusuf Hidayat, I live in Kawali, Ciamis, West Java. At this moment, I'm speaking in Sundanese. Sundanese is an Austronesian language. Sundanese speakers mostly live in several regions aside from West Java, they also live in Lampung province, in Banten province, and western part of Central Java province. Sundanese has several dialects, such as western dialect that mainly used in Lampung and Banten. This dialect is more similar to old Sundanese than other dialect, as this dialect is less influenced by Javanese because other-- Sundanese regions's dialect is influenced by Javanese, as in history those regions were controlled by the Mataram Sultanate which is a Javanese Kingdom. And... Yes, right. (probably talking to someone off-camera) Sundanese language also has its own writing system. The one used today is derived from old Sundanese. The old Sundanese writing system was influenced by Pallava script from South India. This writing system was spread alongside Hinduism. In this age, Sundanese faces some challenge. Less people use Sundanese especially as its mother tongue. This is quite prevalent in large cities like Bandung, Bogor, Bekasi, and others. Sundanese people that lives in those regions now has Indonesian as its mother tongue. I suppose that is all I have to say. (arabic) In God is success and guidance, (arabic) Peace and mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.
