I gave the spll to the climbers and asked which scenario will cause a harder catch for the climber option A where the blayer stands far from the wall option b where the blayer stands close to the wall or C that it does not matter and to my surprise 38% chose option b well for the last 2 years we've been doing the largest study on climbing false and now I have a visual answer to my question so yes in some cases there was absolutely no difference however more often standing far from the wall caused a harder catch for the climber and the belayer had way less control and we also tested a scenario where the belayer is significantly heavier than the climber and jumping up is much more difficult and then we compared everything against the tube slide method so if you want to learn more check out the full video
