I gave the spll to the climbers and
asked which scenario will cause a harder
catch for the climber option A where the
blayer stands far from the wall option b
where the blayer stands close to the
wall or C that it does not matter and to
my surprise
38% chose option b well for the last 2
years we've been doing the largest study
on climbing false and now I have a
visual answer to my question so yes in
some cases there was absolutely no
difference however more often standing
far from the wall caused a harder catch
for the climber and the belayer had way
less control and we also tested a
scenario where the belayer is
significantly heavier than the climber
and jumping up is much more difficult
and then we compared everything against
