Not really. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But we pretended we were. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "I'll never forget the day 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I got stuck on Lisa Frank. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The stickers were so cool, the colors 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were awesome. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I gotta find more. So go to the store, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And WOW, there's tons of awesome 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa Frank stuff. I gotta have it! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What more can I say? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Pretty soon my friends, Ashley and Lindsay 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are going Lisa Frank Crazy too." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And like I mentioned earlier, the company 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that started all of this wasn't super 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 well known. They're called Glamour Dolls, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so they had to get their name out there 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 somehow, so they used an uber popular 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 youtuber, at the time, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 named Candy Johnson. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And Candy Johnson was the perfect influencer 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for this campaign. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't even know if we were calling 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people influencers at that point. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But anyway, my point is that Candy Johnson 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 was top of her game. Everybody freaking 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 loved Candy, she was like the sweetest, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 sweetest, kindest person. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And she has this really light voice. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And everybody freakin' loved Candy. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Hi guys, 2016 is behind us, but 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I am gonna share with you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 my Best in Beauty of 2016. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Make sure if you have not subscribed, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 subscribe, join the family, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 become a Candy Corn. Candy Corn, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like a Unicorn, but like candy corn, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't know, I'll have to think 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about that one. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And follow me on Snapchat, Twitter, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Instagram, Facebook for all kinds of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 different and awesome things." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So when Candy announced the collaboration 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 between Glamour Dolls and Lisa Frank, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people lost their minds, they opened 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 their wallets to the tune of over $300,000 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Almost 6,000 people backed this project. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now, if you don't know what 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm talking about as far as Kickstarter 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and "backing" a project, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 basically, it's kind of like a GoFundMe-ish 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 kind of thing, but for a business. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So the business wants to make a product, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but they don't have the money, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so they go and they tell people 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Hey, we wanna make this product, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if you back us, if you give us money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at different tiers, you'll get X products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for helping us to create the product." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This story has been told many times before. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But I don't think it has been told 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in this way, because what I'm gonna 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 focus on in this video is the point of view 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of the Backers. What was it like to be 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a backer from the beginning, and what 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 kind of tactics did Glamour Dolls use 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to keep us hanging on for well over a year. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Where many, many people, including me, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 did not ask for refunds even after 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they were over a year late in sending out 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Some of you are probably sitting there 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 thinking, like, "why didn't you know?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like, "why didn't you see the red flags?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like, "what happened?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm going to tell you. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm going to share with you what they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 did to us. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm pointing down because of a 22 page 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 script here with all the fucked-up shit 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they did. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because, if you haven't figured it out yet 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Yea, we didn't get anything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [wheeze] Well some people got a little bit, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but I didn't get anything 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And the vast majority of people got 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 absolutely nothing, the people that did 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 get things, got very very little. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's layered. It's multi-layered. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So lets just jump in to the very beginning 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which was the start of the Kickstarter 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in February of 2017. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [Music] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Something you might want to remember 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about 2017 was that we didn't have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the inundation of weird collabs, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like we do now, I mean, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Glamlite Pizza palette was still about 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a year away, and that one broke 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the internet. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It was like the first really weird collab 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that people were like "that's odd, but 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 also kind of cool". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The kind of collabs we were getting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at the time were things like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Wonder Woman and Luxie 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and PUR and the Trolls Movie. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 A makeup collaboration with Lisa Frank 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 had literally never been done before, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so people, naturally, were very excited 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 due to that strong feeling of nostalgia. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The Kickstarter launches with a maximum 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 bid of 40 dollars to get a few products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and a goal of 30,000 dollars. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And the lowest buy-in to get something was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 pretty cheap, at 5 dollars for what they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 called, a digital background. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It was an image that you could use as your 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 background on your phone, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or on your computer, or whatever. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The kickstarter ran for 45 days 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 from February 16, 2017, to April 2, 2017. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's also important to talk about the fact 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that Glamour Dolls said that Backers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 would have a say in the products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 being created. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That there would be polling and voting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and people would get sneak peaks, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people would also get the products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at a discount, because the products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 would eventually end up at retailers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but the Backers, because you bought 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in a bundle, would get things cheaper 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 than you would get if you bought 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the products individually. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Just 3 days into the campaign, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls posted their update. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They were so so excited. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They said that Lisa was "opening 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 her vault and would be sending 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 1000 vintage goodies to be included, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for the first 1000 Backers". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They promised a second treat, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if they hit 2000 Backers, and Lisa 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 had something really special planned 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if they made it to 10,000. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They're just hyping the heck out of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Backers, because they also promised 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something called "stretch rewards". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And they way they described it is not 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 how it turned out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Basically, what they said is that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if the Backers, as a community, complete 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a set of challenges, that something will 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 be unlocked, and this something was going 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to be very very exciting. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Challenges included tasks like creating 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a Lisa Frank-inspired makeup look 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and taking a picture of it, writing a rap 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about Glitter and tweeting it, and they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 even had a challenge where a person 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 had to create a foil unicorn horn and put 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it on their head and take a picture 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of themselves in public, wearing 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the unicorn horn. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 40 people had to take a picture of their 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 vintage Lisa Frank products and submit 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 those pictures. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 See, the community's participating, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they're excited, they're talking about all 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the things that they're doing because 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in every comment section under each post 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 there's a place for people of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 community to communicate, to talk about 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what's happening. Its almost like a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 little, not a message board, but just 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 kind of a place to dump things that people 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were thinking after the update. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So people are hyped about this, they're 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so excited about their stretch reward. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And this is the first big disappointment 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for the Backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because it was not an extra item added to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the bag, it wasn't even a reward, because 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 when you think of a reward, you think 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that you're getting something. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What it actually was, was a mock-up photo 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of an image of three-piece nail polish set 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and this is the kicker about it, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 no pun intended, that the nail polish set 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 wasn't included in any of the levels, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so nobody that had put in any money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at this point was going to get the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 nail polishes that were featured 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in the picture, in order to get the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 nail polishes, you had to now increase 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 your bid by at least 15 dollars 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because Glamour Dolls had just created 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 new tiers that required more investment 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the Backers were like "what?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "That's it?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What we just worked so hard for, we just 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 did all the challenges, 40 of us sent 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 pictures of our Lisa Frank stuff that we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 dug out of our basement or out of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 our attics, and we found the stuff and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we took the picture and we did 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 all the work, and we got a drawing of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something we're not getting unless we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 spend more money? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's what happened. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm gonna put the whole post on the screen 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for you to read, but I'll read one of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 key points. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "We started this collection with a handful 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of products, but a big part of this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickstarter is expanding the collection 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with the community and developing new 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 products to add to it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What maybe separates this Kickstarter from 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 others is that we don't know how big the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 collection will ultimately be. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It all depends on community engagement". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But the thing was is that they told people 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 how big it was going to be. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because that's what they put their money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in for because it said if you put the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 money in for this amount, then you'll get 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this stuff, and now she's saying that it 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 may get even bigger than that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because what was about to happen is they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were about to add even more tiers with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 even more products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The explanation continued with this, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which was the kicker, "we would have told 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you from the beginning" that basically it 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 was only a drawing of a mock-up of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something that no one was getting yet, but 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "we only developed it last week. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In response to fan engagement after we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 researched cost formulations. For many 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people, the challenges were a fun way to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 unlock it and we'll be clear going 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 forward so you can choose whether 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to participate". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Unlock what? They unlocked a picture of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something they had to pay more for. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Thing is is that kind of the way that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 these stretch rewards work, but they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 didn't explain it to people that way. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 When people see a stretch reward, they're 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 going to think that they're getting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something as a reward. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What it is traditionally called is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a "stretch goal" and that is not something 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that is officially part of kickstarter, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but something that Kickstarter campaigns 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 do often. They usually call them goals, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 not rewards, and from what I was reading, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a lot of the stretch goals typically happen 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 after the Backers already have their first 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 set of products because they have gotten 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 their products, they're excited about it, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they're loving it, and now they want 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something more. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So in order to stretch their amount that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they've collected and create more products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they have a stretch goal. So let's say, If 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I get 100 people to donate 20 more dollars 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we can create X products, so lets see if 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we can get to our stretch goal, rather 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 than, it's a mystery, it's a game, it's a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 reward, it wasn't. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They just completely misrepresented 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that to Backers. But I'm telling you, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that snafu is mild, compared to what is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 coming next, like that-that's just 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 extremely minor. It gets so so much worse. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So trying to backtrack, Glamour Dolls 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 tells their Backers "hey, if we get to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 3,500 Backers, then we're going to include 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in everybody's bag, the first 3500 people, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a Lisa Frank designed crease brush. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Sometimes they call this a crease brush, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 sometimes they call it a blending brush, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 its the same brush. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The promise of the free crease brush, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I am not kidding you, according to the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickstarter brought them past that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 3500 backer mark in 24 hours. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So at this point in time, highest level 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 includes everything that they've said 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so far, plus the nail polishes at a $60 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 price point. But people were still mad, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people were like, this is not what you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 said it was going to be, sir, ma'am, sir. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So in response, Glamour Dolls was like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "ok, well, we will add something else, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we'll add something from our own line", 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It was what they called their 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Gypsy Eyeliners" to the first 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 2000 Backers who complete a survey 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to pick their preferred color of this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 liner. They were going to add that into 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the boxes, and that I think kind of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 calmed people down a little bit, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they were like "ok, that feels more like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a reward." And people started getting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 really excited about everything all over 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 again. A backer named Marsha said 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Wow, thanks yet again, the entire vibe 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of this campaign totally reminds me of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what it felt like to open my noisy 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa Frank Trapperkeeper, write with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 my pencils, play with my erasers, that I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 never used, to keep pristine, like dolls 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 LOL, etc. in school. It made me smile 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and dream. I feel like we're all reliving 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 our childhoods through this campaign and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 your team is making this fun. I'm hoping 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this will begin a new generation 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of Lisa Frank fans, when kids see us using 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 our stuff". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Little did Marsha and the rest of us know, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we'd never use the stuff, we're not 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 getting the stuff. In March of 2017, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Kickstarter is still going on, and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 one of the founders and CEOs 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of Glamour Dolls came on to clarify a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 couple things. You're gonna see his name 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 coming up a lot. His name is Peter, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 he looks like that. Just so you can get 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a visual of who we're talking to. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Peter, CEO, founder, Glamour Dolls, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 along with a chick named Jessica, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that's Jessica. Back in 2017, unless you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were in the makeup industry, there wasn't 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 as much information readily available 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about how makeup manufacturing worked, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so Peter felt like it was important 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to explain to the Backers, kind of, what 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we were in for with this. He explained 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something called minimum order quantities 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and he said "as we get more pledges we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 have to order more units and if the order 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 gets big enough, we are able to consider 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 adding new products, knowing that we will 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 be able to meet the factory minimums for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 packaging and filling". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then he says "as we add new products, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 there will need to be some higher pledge 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 tiers, there no way around it. I wish I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 could tell you exactly how much the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 highest tier will be or how many products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we'll end up with, but we came here to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 figure that out with you. But, you may see 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the problem with this, in that they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 haven't even created or started to create 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the products they've already promised, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and now we're talking about adding on 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 another layer, more tiers, more products, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that also they don't have any plan for how 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they're going to make them. There's no 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 artwork from Lisa frank, there's no colors 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 picked out, there's just a concept 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in their minds, that's all that exists. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And as we go through this, you'll realize 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they didn't even calculate the financials 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 on how much all this was going to cost, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or if they did calculate the financials, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they didn't care, they were like, we'll 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 figure it out some how. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then Peter said something that stuck 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in the minds of Backers for the rest 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of the campaign. This is what he said, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Ultimately, whatever we do and don't 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 figure out, these products will be 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 available for individual purchase before 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the end of the year". The end of 2017. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickstarter Backers will just be getting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 them first. They didn't. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So you remember how I said they were 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 adding all of these new products, and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 either they didn't calculate the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 financials to figure out how much they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were gonna cost or they did know, but they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "oh we'll get the money from somewhere" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they kinda figured out how they might get 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the money. They tapped into a creator 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 named Wengie, now back then, there was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a big boom around creators who did DIY 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 challenge kinds of videos. I'm gonna show 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you some of Wengie's thumbnails. She got 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 tens of millions of views on these videos 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Wengie was huge in this space, especially 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with kids. " 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So ever body, Lisa Frank, Kickstarter, [br]every body's telling Glamour Dolls 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you're doing too much. Stop. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You have made too many promises[br]and you are going to just lose everything 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 slow down, figure out how you're going to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 just get a couple of high quality products[br]out and then worry about the rest, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but the thing is; is on the Kickstarter[br]page, it had said 'estimated deliver of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 September of 2017, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So we are now the beginning of May. [br]June, July, August, Semptember, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that's four months until the estimated[br]deliver date of the products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now, I didn't know at the time a lot[br]about production, I had no idea, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so I didn't know that was [br]freaking impossible. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [scoff[ 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't think a lot of us knew that [br]that was freaking impossible, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but it was freaking impossible. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But Glamour Dolls didn't tell us [br]it was freaking impossible, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 oh no, they made us think it was[br]we were getting our stuff in September 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because, remember, at this point, [br]they've got thirteen products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they've promised us, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 including counting each nail polish[br]as one product. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then, on top of that, [br]they had promised us 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they would add in a Lisa Frank [br]designed nail file, so that made it 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 fourteen products that they needed[br]to give us, in four months. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [eh-eh] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because we didn't realize as Backers, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that Lisa was designing all of this stuff[br]from scratch. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Why in the world, she was not using [br]existing artwork, I have no freaking clue. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I still don't know why she didn't [br]use existing artwork. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And in hindsight, this is why hindsight [br]is twenty - twenty. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls had to have know there was [br]no way in hell 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we were getting this stuff by September[br]but they didn't tell us that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They even went so far as people saying[br]it was their birthday in September 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they were so excited to get [br]Glamour Doll's products for their birthday 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and Glamour Doll's like "yaaayy, [br]we're so excited for you to get them too!" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They knew darn well those people were [br]not getting those products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for their birthday. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In May of 2017, the surveys continued 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They started really asking us our opinions[br]on how we wanted things to be done. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And we started seeing actual product[br]coming together 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they sent a picture of this unicorn [br]lippy- it was a lip balm 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and it was a unicorn, and it was so [br]freaking cute in this little 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 empty white box. Of course it was a white[br]box, because Lisa hadn't designed the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 artwork yet, but they were like, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "yes look at this draft of this unicorn,[br]it's so cute!" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then they sent over the picture[br]of the vegan leather make-up bag 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 also so cute! Really cute little zipper, [br]that was like a rainbow, and it was white, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of course, because again, Lisa hadn't [br]designed the artwork yet. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We also got a final look at the upcoming[br]crease brush, now keep in mind, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that the blush brush that was already [br]sent out to Ipsy people, and this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 crease brush, were only going to be [br]shipped to the highest tier Backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The 100 dollar level, and the 200 dollar[br]level. This is going to be important 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in just a moment. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In June, we get another in hindsight[br]red-flag, because Glamour Dolls 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 opened up another way to buy items from [br]the collection from a site called 'backer kit' 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and on Backer Kit, you could order product[br]individually to be added to your box 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 when all of your stuff shipped. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It was also a way for people who hadn't[br]been part of the kickstarter 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to get on the action and[br]order the products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 If you did happen to order the angled[br]blush brush from Backer Kit 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 those blush brushes did go out 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but the 100 dollar and 200 dollar people, [br]still didn't have a blush brush. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Unless they got it in their Ipsy bag, [br]then they had a blush brush. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And if they were 200 dollar tear, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they were gonna end up with 3 [br]blush brushes by the end of it, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 if they also got it in Ipsy. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And in June, Backers got a sneak peak[br]of a single eye shadow 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and a bronzer - we are almost there 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of the big debacle with the bronzer [br]and the eye shadow. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's a whole 'nother thing -[br]we're almost there. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Throughout June we also got sneaks of the[br]Trapper Keeper palate - 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 who are so excited! The draft of the[br]actual product packaging. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We also got sneaks of the [br]matte mousse swatches, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we also got information about what the[br]nail polish colors were gonna look like, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I mean they are giving us pieces and [br]pieces, and pieces, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of 'this is coming, this is coming, [br]this is what we're working on.' 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They really did show us a lot! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But one thing you'll notice, [br]if you listen carefully to this video 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of this nail polish swatches, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is somebody in the background[br]says something about Hot Topic. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [inaudible] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's gonna be another piece. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [laughs] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Hang tight. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They also said that everything was[br]still on track for shipping in September 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in three months! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 How are they telling us this? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They lied to us! They outright lied to us![br]They had to have known, darn well, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we weren't getting shit in September. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because at this point nobody had even[br]gotten on this digital background yet, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that should've been the easiest[br]thing to do. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You have a piece of art, you send it out as[br]a background,-you just digitally send it 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you don't even have to mail anything! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you don't even have to create a[br]physical product! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's literally just a piece of[br]art e-mailed, that's it! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They didn't even make that yet. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Here comes another red flag.[br]Are you ready? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In July, they started selling that crease[br]brush that was supposed to go to the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 top tier Backers, they started [br]selling it on their website for 4.99 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and according to Popsugar, it [br]sold out immediately 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at the beginning of July, and[br]then restocked in the middle of July 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So this is what I think happened, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because, of course, you can't sell out[br]and then restock two weeks later 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 from a true sell out. You have to [br]order more! They didn't sell out! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What they did, I think, is they [br]had a number of extra brushes 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 beyond what people had, what they [br]had, you know, allocated to send out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So they sold those brushes, and then[br]they realized they were selling out so fast 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they sold the backer's brushes. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I guess, figuring they [br]would just make more. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And they would just send more out later,[br]I don't know. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So while all of this has happened, [br]Glamour Dolls is continually and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 constantly involving the Backers in [br]the development process 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of everything. We're watching everything[br]go down, and I will honestly tell you... 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I kinda tuned out, I was like, "I don't [br]even freakin' care" like, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't care what thin- I just want the [br]products! Like, I participated 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in a couple of surveys, but after that, [br]I just stopped reading e-mails. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I was like, I don't care! I don't care [br]about all of this, it's too much! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's just- send me the products! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't care what ya'll decide. It's j- [br]it's fine - it's whatever. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So I kinda tuned out at this point. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But a lot of people were very invested[br]in all of these choices. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The Backers even started arguing[br]amongst each other, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 where some people were being a little[br]harsh about the designs, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like with the trapper keeper palate, [br]saying that the mirror was too small 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and can you make the mirror bigger, [br]people were complaining that there 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were too many unicorns. Like, and then[br]some people, just being like, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 jus-just-what did you expect, [br]it's Lisa Frank. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Just let them do the thing.[br]It's fine. It's fine. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 People were just getting frustrated[br]and just started arguing back and forth 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a little bit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Jessica, the co-founder with Peter[br]even came in and was like, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "hey ya'll, you need to speak nicely to [br]each other, like, we're a community 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we're working on this together, cause it's[br]starting to get a little heated." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now we're in August of 2017, one month[br]before we're supposed to be getting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 our products shipped. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We get another shot of the bronzer, [br]this time with swatches. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this is what they said, "We specifically [br]developed this formula so it's universally 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 flattering, making it the perfect shade [br]for all of our dolls." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Unless the dolls are deeper than that [br]color, I-I don't know. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The thing is, you really can't make a [br]universal shade of bronzer 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because what works for someone [br]very deep skinned, is not gonna work 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for someone with very pale skin. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You just can't do that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 All you can do is shoot for the middle. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So just saying that they made it for [br]all of their dolls, just really was kind of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 insulting to some of the Backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The most interested update, [br]i['m gonna go ahead, put it on the screen 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for you, but I'll read the most [br]interesting part, they said, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "we know we've been little quiet[br]over the last few weeks, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but trust us, we have so many fun [br]and exciting updates to share 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with you guys. The Trapper Keeper[br]palate artwork should be finalized 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 any day now. " Any day now. "And we [br]literally cannot wait to show you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what it looks like! This collaboration[br]has been long time in the works, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and we know that in the end, [br]it'll be worth all the blood, sweat 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and glitter tears that we put into it." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 There's no mention of any shipping delays, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 There's just - we're getting our products.[br]All of them - in September apparently. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [laughs] And the reason why we know this[br]is because they keep showing us things, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they keep showing us that things[br]are almost done! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We got a sneak peak of the shades that[br]were gonna be in the bold and bright palat 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we also got an explanation about the[br]digital artwork that was supposed 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to be going out, and what they basically[br]said was that they wanted to start 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with the hardest products first, [br]like the trapper keeper palates, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and then work they way to the easiest stuff[br]which would be the digital background. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In mid-August they put out a statement[br]that the Wengie palate was almost finished 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and that they would update when they [br]had an exact delivery schedule. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So it's getting towards the end of August 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the people with the September[br]birthdays are starting to realize 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm not getting this for my birthday, [br]am I? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So there was a backer that said [br]"It's obvious that all the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 September birthday Backers are [br]not receiving their make-up next month 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it's almost September, and not many[br]products and designs are finalized 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 as much of a bummer this may be, [br]getting Lisa Frank make-up 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for Christmas, will still be really cool.[br]I hope it's ready by then." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's not gonna be ready. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [music[ 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So September finally arrives[br]and everybody is like okay 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we're gonna get our announcement [br]that everything is gonna be shipped 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but we did not get that! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What we got was a sneak of the shade[br]of the lip mousse, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and no mention of the fact that things[br]are supposed to be shipping right now 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like, they just didn't even say anything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Comment after comment, people are like[br]"what the hell? You're showing 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 me a shade of the lip mousse, how [br]are you still making this?! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We're supposed to be getting them shipped[br]this month!?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, after that post, everybody was pissed.[br]Everybody was sounding off in the comments 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 how mad they were, so the CEO had[br]to re-group and he ended up putting out 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a very lengthy statement. [br]I will put it all on the screen for you. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 He sincerely apologizes for[br]gaps in communication 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and disappointment, and he says that[br]if for any reason Backers are not happy 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they can send an email and they [br]will issue a refund immediately. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 followed with quote, "we need to stress[br]to all of you that you will be receiving 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the products that you paid for [br]no matter what." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I really genuinely don't think that [br]people asked for refunds because of this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because they saw things that they really[br]wanted and they knew if they asked 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for a refund, they weren't going[br]to get any of it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And they still had faith that at some[br]point, this was going to happen. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Maybe it wasn't going to happen right now, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but, if I take my money out I'm not [br]getting all this stuff. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And if I do want it, I'm gonna have to [br]wait for it to go to retailers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I'm gonna have to pay retail [br]price for it- i'm gon-I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm gonna have to pay a lot more money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for it, when if I had just been patient, [br]I would've gotten everything that I wanted. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The post continued with statements [br]about threats that they were getting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 across social media- and they said[br]that the threats are unnecessary 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and if they want a refund, [br]just let them know. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And they also said, about the shipping[br]delay, they said it was just an estimated 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 shipping delivery for September. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Quote, "We started all these products[br]from scratch with you at the concept phase 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and this is our first time working with[br]a license so there are new steps 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and things to learn. Hiccups have ranged[br]from trying to find the right 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 fulfillment agents, to some of the [br]packaging samples we received 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 not being up to our standards. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We were clear from the beginning [br]and in previous updates 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that things might get delayed[br]as the process played out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We realize that September will be over[br]within a few short weeks, which means 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we will unfortunately not be -be on target[br]with our hopeful September estimation." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is a bold face lie![br]It is a straight up lie! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They never once in any of the updates[br]told any body that there could possibly 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 be a delay. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In fact, they reassured customers[br]that everything was on track for September 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They lied! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Regarding communication, they said [br]it hasn't been the best, but they're 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 going to do better in the future. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And about people getting the brushes[br]from Ipsy, 'member, I said 'hold on'? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we're gonna get to it - [br]I'm getting to it right now. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They said, "The only products from this [br]collection that are on the market 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are the Lisa Frank blush brush[br]and the Lisa Frank blending brush. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Those were developed six months before[br]the kickstarted, along with the eye shadow 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the travel bronzer for a specific [br]customer." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That specific customer was Ipsy, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "And were offered during this campaign as [br]an addition perk, or add on, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so that you can truly have everything [br]in the collection. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Beyond that, we can assure you that[br]anything being developed 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 through kickstarter will be in your [br]hands first." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What they don't mention in this, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 was the update where they said [br]that 3500 Backers, the first 3500 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were also going to get the crease [br]slash blending brush. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They've conveniently forgotten about that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That actually never gets mentioned again. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 When Backers pointed out that Glam Dolls[br]raised ten times more than their 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 original goal of 30 thousand dollars, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they said that it didn't make things[br]easier, it actually made things more 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 complicated, because that's when [br]they started adding extra products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Well who's dang fault was that!? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is also the first mention of [br]hand painted items. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Why are there hand painted items[br]in this collection? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I have no idea. I don't know why[br]they thought this was a good idea. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We'll talk about that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They also mention, that of course, [br]because the Backers went in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and helped them fund the products[br]that they will get everything 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 at a cheaper price than what they [br]would be sold at retail. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Then they breakdown everything[br]that they say is happening right now 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 including, they say, specifically 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that all the products have been finalized 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and physical production samples[br]have been approved, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but they do say that they're[br]keeping 3 products blank 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so that community can vote on[br]what kind of artwork is going to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 go on to those 3 products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They also promise that on October [br]1st, they're going to ship out 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 those 4 products that were[br]made before the kickstarter started; 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the 2 brushes, the eyeshadow, [br]and the bronzer. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They'll go out to the 100 and 200 [br]dollar Backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 As well as anybody that added them on. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They also say this: "In addition to the[br]press, we were reached out to by 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 a few major retailors, all of whom[br]require time and energy to onboard 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with. There have been many sleepless[br]nights and it has been a journey 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 as we try to build our team, and turn[br]this opportunity in to a solid foundation" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't think we knew what this meant [br]at the time, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but this meant that they had two [br]retailors they were talking to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to sell these products. [br]Hot Topic and Dolls Kill. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The letter then goes on to pull [br]at the heartstrings 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of the Backers, to get everybody[br]to calm down, and be patient, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and be nice to them. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They -s- give shoutouts to the staff[br]members and the interns 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and statements like, "Jessica and I [br]are both people too" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And they mention Jessica neglecting[br]her own wedding because she's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 working so hard on this project. [br]] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They also talk about Peter missing friends[br]and family members' major life events 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 due to trying to make this product happen. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What we like to think that if you were [br]able to see our day to day, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 those of you who feel the need to [br]be critical, would be a little less so. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And this is when there's a complete[br]tone-shift in the comment section 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 underneath the project. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The comments are so kind, and so [br]patient, there's even people saying 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they expected the products to ship[br]after September, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because a lot of kickstarters ship late 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which I found isn't necessarily true, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but people were really nice to Peter 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 after his post. Just like, yeah you are[br]human, let's give you some time 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I can see that you're trying, [br]like, you're doing your best 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and things are coming. [br]It'll be soon. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Everybody is just being super super[br]nice to them. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But one backer, Ariel, she really [br]summed things up, but in a very 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 very polite way. [br]She asked questions like, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 i-she wanted to know the dates of the [br]extra promises, like the Glamour Doll's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Gypsy eyeliner pencil, the vintage Lisa [br]Frank item that they were promised. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The nail file, and the digital background,[br]and of course, her questions went 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 completely unanswered. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 On September 21st, they said, [br]Thank you so much, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the eyeshadow and the bronzer production[br]have been completed. We have them. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They say, as a huge thank you for [br]supporting us throughout this journey, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we've decided to ship out the orders early[br]for those of you who backed a tier 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that includes them, or added them to their[br]pledge afterward in backerkit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But you and I both know, that this is [br]not on time. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 October 1st is technically late, because[br]the estimated ship time was September 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and there shipping them in October, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but they're using this language on purpose[br]to manipulate the Backers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and make them feel good that they're [br]getting things early. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because what I think they meant, is that [br]they had intended to send out the packages 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 when they were all completed, but they're[br]sending these particular items because 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they're ready out before the rest of the [br]products are ready. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls makes it sound like this is [br]- like- a big reward, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this is something we're doing for you[br]because we care about you - 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 No, this is something that you[br]owe to people. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is not - this is not a -[br]a luxury. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is not a super kind thing to do. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is just what you should be doing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Then things switched with the [br]digital background. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Basically what they were saying, [br]was that they wanted to give an update 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 on the digital background and they [br]said that Lisa had some concerns 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about her artwork getting stolen. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't know, I think if anyone wanted[br]to steal Lisa Frank's artwork 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it'd be pretty easy to do, [br]but I digress. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So anyway, they were worried about[br]this digital background 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 being stolen and then put on[br]things illegally, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so they didn't want to do a digital [br]background, instead 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa was going to go in to her vault[br]and she found these vintage postcards. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And these vintage postcards were going[br]to be shipped out instead of the digital 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 background to anybody that pledged[br]5 dollars or more. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So every single person that pledged [br]was going to get one of these. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And 25 people would have one that was [br]handsigned personal signed by Lisa herself 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This postcard was supposed to go out[br]once all of the orders, all the products, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 had been made and the final orders[br]were being shipped. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Then they dropped drawing designs[br]of the caps of the nail polishes 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I was thinking as I was looking at[br]this, I was like didn't they just say 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like a week ago, that everything [br]was already designed, that they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 already had all the mockups? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Apparently that was a lie. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And would you be shocked to learn 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that the shipping of the bronzers[br]doesn't happen on October 1st? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 'Cause it doesn't happen. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In October, the community is sent a poll[br]for the design for the vegan make-up bag 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they had a choice of zoomer and zorbit, [br]who are aliens, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 dancing dolphins, or Sky the Pegasus. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We also saw the first physical samples[br]of the Naturally Glam 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the bold and bright palates,[br]so freaking cute. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The community loses their minds over [br]these palettes, comments are lighting up 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about people so excited to get these [br]palettes in their hands. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And like I said, the eyeshadow and [br]bronzers, that stuff did not 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 end up shipping on October 1st, [br]because Glamour Dolls says that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they were stuck in customs.. [br]for two weeks. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They said in an update, being as today is [br]10 26, we expect the product to arrive 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to the shipping facility and ship to you[br]on October 31st. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And therefor, you should expect the makeup[br]there on your doorstep during the first 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 week of November. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Are you surprised that this did[br]actually happen? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Me too. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [laughs] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In November we get more information 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about the two brushes, the eyeshadow, [br]and the bronzer. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They talk about how the products[br]had already been in production 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 when the kickstarter started, [br]but where Peter shot himself in the foot 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 was because in May he said that the [br]Backers would be getting the products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 first. And he should've known not to say[br]that because he knew that they were 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 gonna end up in Ipsy bags before the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Backers got them, but he didn't tell[br]anybody that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 He just lied to everybody instead and then[br]when we found out they were in Ipsy bags 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we naturally freaked out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because not only were the blush brushes[br]in the April Ipsy bags, but the bronzers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were in the November Ipsy bags! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Oh my gosh, is this a Lisa Frank?[br][gasp] Glamour Dolls bitten and bronze 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 matte bronzer!? Awhile ago we got a Lisa [br]Frank brush in our Ipsy bag, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I wonder if this is from the same line. [br]I'm not really expecting much from this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 bronzer, because I feel like it's just[br]more on the gimmicky side, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But I hope that it works amazingly well. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Color is really promising! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's not too warm and it's not[br]too cool. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm gonna swatch it out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This feels a little bit powdery. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Ooh, it actually feels really nice and[br]smooth on the skin. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Granted, I did just put that hand cream on[br]so I don't really know what that says 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but it feels really buttery-ish [br]on the skin. Feels nice! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The color is pretty good too. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 If you're fair though, I don't think[br]this is going to work for you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because it's showing up on my really [br]tan hand, so if you're fair, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't think this bronzer is for you. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But it's really F'in cute. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I wish the actual packaging [br]looked as cute as the box, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but I mean, it's still pretty cute" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 As a backer, what we were thinking[br]was that Glamour Dolls took our money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 from the Kickstarter and made these [br]bronzers and made the brushes and made the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 eyeshadows with our money and then sold [br]them to Ipsy. Which is actually not what 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 happened. I put all of the timelines[br]together and it turns out they did not use 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickstarter money in order to fund [br]these products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They had used a different website.[br]It was called: "Kickfurther". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickfurther - it still exists. [br]It's kind of like Kickstarter, but instead 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of backing a project and getting product,[br]you back a project and you get interest 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 on your investment.[br]It's basically a way that small businesses 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 can fund the production of something[br]and then pay the investors back. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So I went over to the Glamour Dolls'[br]Kickfurther page and what I found out was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they had done a Kickfurther campaign [br]to produce the blush brushes. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They raised $166,000 and they paid [br]those Backers back about two weeks after 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Kickstarter ended in April of 2017.[br]They ran a second Kickfurther campaign 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that was running about the same time as[br]the Kickstarter campaign was running. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It was from Feb 13th of 2017 to [br]March 6th of 2017. This was to fund the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 production of the eyeshadow [br]and the bronzer. Because with the money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they got from the blush brush they were[br]also able to make the crease brush. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 There's a lot of business-y language[br]over there and I'll be honest, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't understand a lot of what[br]they're talking about. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But I will tell you what I did understand.[br]So, he's basically saying people are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 concerned that they're not going to get [br]their money back. And he's reassuring them 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and basically saying they've got these[br]two purchase orders - they're very very 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 blurry, there's stuff that's knocked out [br]of it, but we know now in hindsight that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the brand that ordered the highlight [br]and the bronzer was Ipsy. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You can kind of make out in the very[br]blurry paperwork that Ipsy paid $378,750 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for the bronzer. Same for the eyeshadows.[br]And that was for 757,500 units of each 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 product. But! They were not [br]going to pay that money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 until the product was delivered.[br]That's why they needed the Kickfurther 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people- was to actually make the products.[br]Once they actually delivered them, then 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they would get the money from Ipsy and[br]they could pay the Kickfurther Backers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 back. [br]So here's the math broken down: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls raises $313,000 from the [br]Kickfurther. They spend that money to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 make the bronzer and the eyeshadow.[br]Ipsy pays them two payments of $378,750. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Which is $757,500 total[br]for those two products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Then they have to pay interest to the[br]Kickfurther Backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They pay out $354,000 about to those [br]Backers. That's $41,000 in profit for the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickfurther people, but that gives[br]Glamour Dolls about $400,000 from 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 those two products from the Ipsy deal.[br]Plus they still have that $350,000 from 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Kickstarter in order to make products.[br]So what happened to all of that money - 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 where did they spend it?![br]I have it- I know exactly where 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they spent it![br]I have to... but we have to get there. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So remember: the Backers over on the[br]Kickstarter have no idea any of this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickfurther stuff was happening.[br]And Glamour Dolls had no obligation 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to share it - [br]it wasn't our business. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But this was happening behind the scenes.[br]In mid November, the Backers at the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 $100 and $200 level, as well as[br]people who added on the bronzer or 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the eyeshadow are starting to get their [br]products in the mail. Remember they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 had ordered these back between February[br]and April - it's now November and they've 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 finally got some products.[br]And they also have their vintage 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa Frank postcard.[br]Glamour Dolls seemed a little bit "Oooo" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about that because the postcards [br]technically weren't supposed to go out yet. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The postcards were supposed to[br]be in the final package. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So what they told the Backers was:[br]if you got a postcard in this order, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you'll get a second one[br]in your next order. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's the order where we're going to ship[br]you out everything. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And this is when Glamour Dolls is forced[br]to admit that they are selling the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa Frank branded stuff - the stuff[br]that's supposed to be in the hands of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Backers first- over at Hot Topic[br]and Dolls Kill. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because people found the products [br]available over on Hot Topic! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But they spin it - they're SUCH [br]manipulative liars, I swear. This is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so awful. [br]This is what they said: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "The eyeshadow that leaked on Hot Topic[br]that some of you eagle eyes caught (we are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so impressed!) was supposed to be a [br]teaser promo for what's to come. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And we were 100% not aware that they would[br]be breaking the news so soon. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We're of course THRILLED to have such an [br]amazing partnership, but we truly had 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 had no idea they were launching this [br]promo so early. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now that the cat's out of the bag, so to[br]speak, we'd love to formally introduce you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to the new single eyeshadow shades in [br]the Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls line." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 followed by swatches of two shadows, [br]not one. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This second single shadow was never [br]a part of the original list of products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Why are they making more products?[br]It's because they could make money off 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of Hot Topic customers.[br]That's why they made more. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because apparently they need more money.[br]But then it gets so, so much worse. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This was when I went on my Twitter and I [br]was like, "This is f*cking ridiculous!" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 If you were following me on Twitter[br]and you saw me freaking out on Twitter 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about what I was finding,[br]this is what I had found. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because the postcards. The postcards. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Ok, I know it's just a postcard, [br]but it's wild. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So the postcards were coming [br]damaged. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Some of them were ripped, [br]some of them were creased, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 people were saying they got a signed one[br]and it was ripped and they wanted 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 another one, but then they were worried[br]they wouldn't get another signed one and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 how could the signed one be ripped? [br]It's a vintage postcard - these can't be reproduced. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But was it? Because people noticed that [br]there was a QR code on the postcard. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 These are supposed to be vintage[br]and there was a QR code... 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 ...on the postcard. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I sh*t you not[br]this is what Glamour Dolls said: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "QR codes actually came out in the 90's,[br]if ya can believe it. These postcards 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are right from the vault." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, I had to look that up[br]because I was like, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Are you being for serious right now?"[br](laughs) 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 He's right - the QR codes did come[br]out in the 90's. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But nobody had any ability to use them [br]until smartphones had cameras. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 According to the article on Microsoft,[br]"In 2002, Sharp introduced the first 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 cellphone with a QR scanner and competing[br]cell phone companies followed suit. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Eventually everyone who owned a smartphone[br]possessed a QR scanner in their pocket." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So at the very earliest, the postcards[br]were 15 years old. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But I will tell you there is a 0% chance-[br]a 0% chance- that these postcards 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were 15 years old.[br]And the reason why was because the QR code 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 conveniently took you to a Lisa Frank app.[br]Which definitely did not exist in 2002. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I found the two apps that she[br]had available. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The apps at the time were the[br]"Lisa Frank Pick 'n Share", developed 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in 2012 per this Buzzfeed article. [br]Apparently it sucked according to them. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The other app was called "Zoom 'n Color"[br]which launched in February of 2013. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So unless somebody calls something vintage[br]that is five years old, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 these sh*t are not vintage. At all.[br]Not even close. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But it gets worse. It gets worse![br]Not only weren't they vintage, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they weren't signed! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Some people were looking at their[br]their signature because a lot of people 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in the group seemed to have [br]gotten signatures. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 There were 1700 people who should have [br]gotten these postcards because they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 pledged that $100 tier or more.[br]At least 1700 people. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But it seemed like almost everybody,[br]if not everybody, commenting was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 getting one of these 25 rare [br]signed postcards. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Something was going on.[br]There was a woman named, Calli, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 who didn't get her postcard yet and [br]was seeing all these people commenting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they'd gotten a signed one and she[br]was like, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Oh I guess I'm not going to get a signed[br]one with my order." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And Glamour Dolls was like, "Yeah, you [br]do have a chance because maybe not 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 all the 25 have been sent out. We're[br]not sure because Lisa sent them directly 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to the warehouse and we don't know which[br]ones went into the boxes." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And Calli says, "Yes!! Definitely [br]still a chance. Realistically we won't 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 know who received the 25 postcards until[br]they're all sent out once all the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 products are through production and [br]shipped out. Talk about suspense!!" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But we know how many of them were signed.[br]They were all signed. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Every single one of them were signed. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because thanks to tips from people that [br]were commenting, they said well, there's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 pictures of the cards on Instagram that[br]people are posting. The signatures are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 absolutely 100% identical down to the [br]size of the commas and the sizes of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 loops and the extra little dot [br]in the smiley face. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 These were photocopied. Every single one[br]had a Lisa Frank signature on it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I even found an unboxing of one of these.[br]This was from a channel called, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Beauty Pop". And here was[br]her reaction to getting the postcard: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "So first off there is this little card-[br]it's really, really cute. It has a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa Frank, like, illustration on it. [br]I really like it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And it says, "Lots of love! XO....[br]I don't...the team...or something maybe... 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't know what that says.[br]That signature is kind of hard to read. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So it's this little postcard. [br]It's really really cute. I think I'm 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 going to save this because I [br]really like the art that's on it." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 (Laughing) She didn't even realize that it[br]was Lisa Frank's signature because it 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 doesn't look like Lisa's Fran- Lisa[br]Frank's signature. We see the Lisa Frank 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 name on everything and it looks like a [br]signature. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's not her real signature apparently,[br](laughing) so she didn't even realize 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that's what it was supposed to be. (Laugh)[br]Which I get! I totally get! 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But it just goes to show how the signature[br]was of zero value. Absolutely zero value. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 One person said her eyeshadow[br]came shattered. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then a backer named, Denisha, was[br]super disappointed and she said she lost 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 all complete hope that anything would[br]work out for her. She said, "I was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 happy to get one of the signed cards[br][because at this point everybody thinks 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they're hand signed], but I'm [br]already not enthused about this makeup 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 working for me. The eyeshadow is beautiful[br]and I might use it as a highlighter, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but the "bronzer" is a complete[br]waste of time. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I really don't think based on the poll[br]winners, etc. that this line will work 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out for melanated Backers." [br]Even Beauty Pop, who is closer to my 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 skin tone, swatches the bronzer[br]and pretty much says the same thing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So the postcard was a complete scam. And[br]it doesn't seem like Glamour Dolls knew 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that, but Lisa had to have known that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Where did Glamour Dolls get the[br]information that 1. these were vintage 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and 2. that they would be hand signed[br]because neither of those things were true. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Did Lisa lie to them? Did Glamour Dolls[br]know it and lie to the Backers? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I would dare to say Lisa probably[br]misled Glamour Dolls. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But it's Glamour Dolls fault for not even[br]seeing the postcards and verifying what 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they were before giving false[br]promises to the Backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So at this point there starts to be[br]kind of a split between the backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Some people are really excited and some[br]people are starting to get 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 really disappointed. There's[br]a backer named Lizzie and she says, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Honestly if I'd known about the other [br]shades not being available through the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickstarter when this whole thing [br]started, it wouldn't have bothered me. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 What really irritates me is that we keep[br]finding out about these things being sent 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out in Ipsy bags, Hot Topic suddenly[br]selling items from this collection, etc. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 on our own and THEN we hear from you about[br]it once someone call you out and questions 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's important to be up front and open[br]with your Backers, so they feel like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they can trust you." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The problem is that they[br]weren't trustworthy. That's the problem. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And that's what a lot of the[br]Backers were learning. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And beyond that, people were really [br]disappointed about the design of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 eyeshadow and the bronzer themselves[br]because the Lisa Frank artwork was on the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 outer cardboard box and not on the actual[br]packaging because a lot of people - I know 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I do- I tend to throw away the outer box[br]and I USE the product itself, so the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 artwork, I thought, was going to be on the[br]actual product and not on the outer carton 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so people were really disappointed[br]about that, too. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 On November 22nd, they send out a mock-up [br]of the lip balm tin. This is the first 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 time we see the lip balm tin. [br]And it looks kind of cute. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But like I said at this point, we kind of[br]are starting to get that split between 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Backers, but most people seem to[br]still be really excited. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In December of 2017, they send out a[br]big update with progress on 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 all of the products.[br]They stress again the process of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 creating all of this product. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They get the sample, they get the artwork[br]from Lisa, they get the artwork put onto 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the sample, they send that sample over[br]to Lisa for approval and then she has the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 opportunity to revise the sample[br]and change things, then they have to send 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that back to the lab with the revisions[br]and it doesn't seem like Lisa has a limit 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 on how many revisions she can make[br]on a product. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, that's why things seem to be taking[br]so long - is because it's just such a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 multi-step process and where I keep [br]digging back 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is that - didn't they know this-[br]when they started the Kickstarter- 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that this was the format they[br]were working with? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Why would you tell Backers that there was [br]an estimated ship date that wa- you knew 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 100% was going to be impossible, based on[br]what they're saying here that I'm sure 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they knew before they started, [br]I don't understand why they would just 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 outright lie like that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls has created this problem[br]for themselves. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa isn't helping- which we'll find [br]out more in a minute. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But Glamour Dolls has created this situation. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So right now, as of December 17th, [br]the things that are available for purchase 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were the crease/blending brush, [br]the blush brush, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the bronzer,[br]and the two eyeshadows 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in "Heartthrob" and "Picnic". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Heartthrob" was created specifically [br]for Hot Topic. "Picnic" was created for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Backers, but they were selling[br]both at Hot Topic. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 For the Unicorn Lippy, they said that the [br]design was finalized, but that they were 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 waiting for the manufacturer to hand paint[br]the product in order for them to see 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what a final product was going[br]to look like. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This was the hand painted product [br]-is this lippy. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Each one of these is going to need to be[br]painted - by a person. 5,000 some of them. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 By a person. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They said the vegan leather cosmetic bag,[br]the eyeliner, the lipbalm tin, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the shimmer powder highlighter[br]were waiting for Lisa's approval. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The lip mousse was waiting for packaging[br]to come back because the color of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 mousse didn't match the cap.[br]And it was supposed to match the cap 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the logo and it didn't. [br]So they were waiting for that. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The palates were being remade because[br]they didn't like the way that they folded 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 together - they felt like the image didn't[br]line up properly, so once they got it to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 line up properly, they were going to[br]send it to Lisa for approval. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And finally, the nail polish trio-[br]they were waiting for manufacturing of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the sample to send to Lisa. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 (Laughing) You remember that the[br]nail polish set was a reward back 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in February when the Kickstarter started? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Uh yeah, the sample bottles were still[br]being manufactured- in December. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 People were also asking, Ok, so can we [br]get an actual ship date? Like what's the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 actual timeline for this? When will[br]we have products in our hands? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 On December 15th, Glamour Dolls breaks[br]the sad news that if you had bought two 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of these or if you had bought[br]any piece of this as a holiday gift 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for a friend or a family member, [br]that wasn't going to happen. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 BUT they had a solution. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And it was a printable card to get your [br]friend or family member excited 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about the products that they[br]would never receive. (Laughs) 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Horrible! Horrible![br]I don't know what the world 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they were thinking. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because it was literally like a card[br]that they made that had all of the items 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and you were supposed to check off[br]the items you were giving to your friend 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or your family member and you were [br]supposed to give them this printed thing 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 instead of their gift they were supposed[br]to get in December. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Like, "It's coming, it's coming!"[br](Heavy sigh) 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I do think, though, that at this point[br]Glamour Dolls really did think that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 things would eventually come together.[br]When it would come together - I don't know 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but I think that they did think that it[br]was still gonna come together eventually. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now there is a CLEAR split between[br]the Backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 People who are like, "This is messed up, [br]we're not getting our stuff, this is terrible." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then people who are like,[br]"Trust the process. It's gonna be ok, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 just trust the process." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls even shared a picture of the[br]"messed up packaging". 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I- I swear, I watched this video[br]like three...four times and I can't see 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 anything messed up with it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Can you see what's messed up with it? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't see anything. It looks fine to me.[br]And the Backers - their response 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to this video? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They didn't see anything wrong either. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But nevertheless, this product was not[br]coming anytime soon. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Not a lot happened in January of 2018. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Mostly it was discussion over the [br]highlighter and what shade they should 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for the highlighter. Uh, there was an [br]opal shade that everybody had picked 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and when they did the swatches of it,[br]people realized that it wasn't going to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 be as universal as they thought it would[br]be, so people were complaining that it 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 didn't look like anything that they[br]thought opal would look like. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So they decided they were also going to[br]make a second shade - a rose gold- 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so that it would work for most people[br]and that in order to decide which one you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 would get, you would fill out a survey. [br]They had a Google Form survey you would 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 fill out and if you chose one or the other[br]that's the one that you would get. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 If you didn't choose through that survey,[br]then Glamour Dolls would just throw one 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or the other in your box for you. [br]And that's it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's all that happened in January. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It is now February of 2018. It is now one[br]year after the Kickstarter began. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Here is what's happening. [br]February 8th, Peter posts a post into the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Kickstarter community. He admits that he's[br]been slow to communicate and he says that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 sometimes there just isn't [br]anything new to update. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Regardless he says that he wants to[br]communicate more frequently- 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which he DOES do. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Regarding the delivery schedules[br]he says that there's just things 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that are stopping it from going along[br]and they're just stuck. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 For example, they said that the original[br]highlighter powder that they had worked 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out was not good, that it was leaking.[br]So then they had to start over and get 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 new packaging for it.[br]And then he mentions about the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 hand painting of the damn unicorns - [br]which you know... 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 hand painting 5,549...[br](because I counted them) 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 ...unicorns is a lot![br]I don't know what kind of logic made you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 think that that was going to [br]be a good thing to do. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But I guess the problem was that they had[br]already sneaked this unicorn that was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 going to be hand painted to the lower tier[br]Backers before they added 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the upper tier Backers and they're just[br]going to leave it out of the higher tiers? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They could have because that would have[br]been realistic, but they didn't. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They added it into all the tiers.[br]And it's 5,549 Backers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because remember those $200 Backers[br]are getting TWO unicorns. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And everybody at $20 or more was supposed[br]to get one of these things. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But according to Peter there was good news[br]because he said that even though 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it was going to cost Glamour Dolls more[br]he promised that as soon as an item 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 was ready, that they were going to[br]ship it out. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Even if it did cost them more money. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Then they do something that they[br]didn't have to do. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Which I think was really good of them.[br]They did a voice call 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with their Backers on February 14th[br]and that call does still exist 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I listened to the whole thing. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And they really did open it up and[br]allow anybody with questions 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to join in that call[br]to ask those questions. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in that call, they went through each individual product 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and it seemed like a lot of them were either 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 waiting for Lisa Frank's artwork 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or waiting for the Lisa Frank approval 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they couldn't constractionally 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 move forward with anything 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 until Lisa did those pieces 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of her contract. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Peter also says that once Lisa approves[br]something, it's still going to take 45 days 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in order for that product to go through [br]the manufacturing process, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I'm sitting here thinking, "What about[br]all those times that you promised backers 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that you were on schedule, that things [br]were coming." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You knew it was going to take 45 days, a[br]month and a half once Lisa approved it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You knew you didn't have Lisa's approval, [br]and in some cases you didn't even have the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 final mockup of a product, but you're [br]still telling people you're on track and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you're on time? Why would you do that? Why[br]would you just lie like that? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I personally believe it was so that [br]backers wouldn't ask for refunds 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because they couldn't afford to give out[br]all of those refunds and still have a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 chance of making this happen so they just[br]lied to keep it all going. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In the call, they addressed some of the[br]most common questions that were happening 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in the community and one of them was about[br]"Why didn't you tell us that this was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 going to be an Ipsy?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I'm going to go ahead and play the clip of[br]Peter talking now. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because, yeah, you didn't have to say it[br]was with Ipsy, but you could have said 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 "Hey, there are a couple of products, [br]you're going to see them come out 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 somewhere, just so you know, they were[br]ordered before we started. We actually had 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 these products paid for before the[br]Kickstarter started, so these are ones 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that were already pre-ordered, these are[br]not the products that you're paying for." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They didn't have to say that it was Ipsy. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They didn't have to say when they were[br]coming out, but just to make a general 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 statement that should not have violated[br]the non-disclosure, just to say that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 somebody had purchased them. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Peter makes it very clear that refunds are[br]available. He mentions that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa has her own proprietary color 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and that every single lab has to be taught[br]how to make this color because it is very 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 specific, copyrighted color by Lisa Frank. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And then he was asked about the postcard[br]and his answer is super weird. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And you notice he doesn't mention anything[br]about the signature not being handsigned. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Nothing about that. Just straight up [br]trying to gloss it over, like dude, just, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it's not vintage, it's not vintage. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is a very interesting part of the [br]question and answer session 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that Peter outright lies, again, because[br]we have the information to prove that he lied. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So when asked how big he thought that the[br]Kickstarter would get, he says this: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But we know for a fact that this is[br]probably not true, at least this is not 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what he told the Kickfurther people,[br]because this is the post that he put in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Kickfurther community. He said that he[br]thought it was likely that they would hit 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 2 million dollars on the Kickstarter, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 which would, "lead to an immediate general[br]house cleaning and pay off whatever little 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 debt we have, which is mostly here." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 He says that the 2 million dollars he[br]expected to get from the Kickstarter, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 he would use that money to pay back the[br]Kickfurther people. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Then he would use the Kickstarter money [br]in order to pay for the products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I will, though, give credit where credit[br]is due in that they did not have to have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this call, they didn't have to do all of[br]these updates, they're not required to do 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that, but they were, because I genuinely[br]believe that Glamour Dolls thought this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 was going to happen, but it's just they're[br]not setting realistic goals, that's the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 big problem. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In March of 2018, Glamour Dolls and the[br]team, like this is enough, we are flying 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 out to hang out with Lisa and find out[br]what the hell is happening, so they fly 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the team out to "work out much of the[br]remaining artwork." Then they start 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 posting this matrix system where it talks[br]about where each product is in the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 production process. It looks like the most[br]delay is happening on the Wengie palette, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the highlighters, and the nail polish set, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and that's the only update they give in[br]March, is that, "Hey, we're meeting with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa, we're working out the artwork," and [br]then nothing, and the backers are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 absolutely losing it at this point. Like,[br]almost everybody is turing on them, 'cause 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they're like, "What the hell is happening,[br]what is this matrix, why is this stuff not 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 done yet? Because almost a year ago you[br]told us this stuff was already done and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 now you're telling me it's not done?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 A backer named Kristen said, "I backed[br]this while pregnant with my now 10 month 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 old child and still nothing." 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So, obviously, they're reading this over [br]at Glamour Dolls, and they wanted to post 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 something, so basically, they posted at[br]the end of March, "Uh, yeah, we don't have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 anything else to tell you, so yeah, that's[br]it. That's all I got for ya, is we don't 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 have anything else to tell you," and then [br]people lost it even more. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It was so bad, people were so frustrated 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And I'm laughing because it's so[br]ridiculous. It is so ridiculous. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The matrix that they posted at the end was[br]basically the same thing but in more 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 friendly language. That's it. That was the[br]only update. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Oh wait, there was one more thing. There[br]was a final draft of the cosmetic bag. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They did post that, and it's so cute. It's[br]so cute,my friends .Too bad nobody got it. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Now it is April of 2018, the 1 year[br]anniversary of the end of the Kickstarter 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 campaign, and the only thing that's been[br]shipped out are the eyeshadow and the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 bronzer to a select handful of people who[br]were at the very top tier or people that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 added them onto their bags. They've also[br]shipped out the blush brush or the crease 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 brush to anybody that added them, but[br]those top-tier backers have not received 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 them. But things get a little bit more [br]hopeful becuase we finally get the final 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 draft of the Bold and Bright palette, and[br]it is freaking adorable. It is so cute. I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 mean, you can't tell me that's not cute.[br]That is so cute. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And of course, they give us a new matrix.[br]And if you look at it, it's like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 everything's waiting for Lisa. [br]Everything's waiting for lisa. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They keep dragging it out throughout[br]April, dragging it out, giving us a little 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 sneak peek of this product here, a little[br]sneak peek of that product here, we got a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 photo of 2 palettes, we got arm swatches[br]of the shades, we got a video of the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Natural palette. The matrix now says that [br]Lisa has the samples and they're waiting 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for her feedback. By the end of April, we[br]get to see the box that the Lippie is in, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and it's so freaking cute, and we're[br]starting to get excited again, this is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 finally coming to an end, we're finally[br]going to get our products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In May of 2018, Glamour Dolls, in the[br]nicest way possible, is saying Lisa's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 being a pain in the ass. They're trying[br]really hard to be kind and professional, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but mostly there's a problem with these[br]matte mousse products. The full 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 explanation is going to be on the screen[br]for you, you can pause to read it, but, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 basically, she didn't like the way that[br]the color looked paired with the cap, so 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 she wanted them to make 4 mockups of 4[br]different empty containers, and then she 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 would decide which one matched with the[br]lip color the best. And they said that's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what's been holding up that particular[br]product. We also got a picture of the lip 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 balm tin finished. It is perfection. It is[br]so adorable. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The matrix for mid-May is still nothing[br]approved by Lisa. Glamour Dolls is making 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 progress on their end, but no updates on[br]Lisa's end. At the end of May we see the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 draft of the nail polish bottles and oh my[br]gosh, are these things freaking gorgeous 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or what. I can't even, I can't even. They[br]said that the colors weren't, of course, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the colors that were going to be in the[br]bottles, but these were the draft bottles 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we have been waiting for since February of[br]2017 when we were told that they were 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 reward, they are finally here and they are[br]gorgeous, they did not disappoint. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 But then, I'm sorry to say, my friends,[br]there was silence for 4 months. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And silence for 4 months is a very, very [br]bad sign. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 [music] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 September 21st of 2018, I'm going to read[br]this to you in full, because I feel like 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you need to feel the emotion in this one.[br]Because, you know that meme, or that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 little video where it's like, "and this is[br]when she knew, she f*cked up?" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That, this is it. This is the moment where[br]we all knew we were getting nothing. Here 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it goes. "Hi Everyone, Thank you for your[br]patience as we've gathered facts and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 information to provide you with a thorough[br]update on this campaign. We apologize for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the delay in delivery of the products and[br]understand that you might be disappointed. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Please know that we're making significant[br]efforts to deliver the products to you. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Despite those efforts, we are encountering[br]issues we never imagined when we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 enthusiastically began this campaign. This[br]update is to share information with you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 regarding our efforts to fulfill our[br]obligations and to account for the money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that you so generously committed to this[br]campaign. Below is how much we raised in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this campaign. This itemized list that[br]follows shows you how we have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 appropriately expended those funds[br]towards completion of this project: 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Total Kickstarter funds raised including[br]Backer Kit: $475,685.00 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 'Cause remember, they opened Backer Kit[br]after the Kickstarter ended so people that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 missed out on the Kickstarter could fund[br]the project through Backer Kit, get 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 individual products or get in on those[br]bundles. Then he continues. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Cost Expended Towards Completion 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Production Sample Costs: $15,329.00, [br]Contractual Payments to LFI, which is Lisa Frank Incorporated: $510,754.04 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Contractual Payments to LFI, which is [br]Lisa Frank Incorporated: $510,754.04 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Contractual Artwork Fees to Lisa Frank[br]Incorporated: $45,615.00 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Total spent: $571,698.04, which, if you do[br]the math, is about $100,000 more than they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 raised in the Kickstarter and the[br]Kickfurther. Then he continues reiterating 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 all the steps that it takes to make the[br]product, and you'll notice, all the fluffy 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 language he was using to describe Lisa,[br]that she was "using her creative genius" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and that she's "amazing," it's all gone.[br]It's now "LFI." There's no mention of Lisa 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 anymore. It's all LFI. And that's it. It's[br]become very, very professional. No more 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Mister Nice Glamour Dolls. The next chart 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is not a matrix of hope, but a matrix of[br]death, unfortunately, the death of this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 project because we learn what we already[br]knew in a different format. The products 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that have already been released: the 2[br]brushes, the bronzer, and the eyeshadow 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in September of 2018 are still the only[br]ones that are ready because everything 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 else is waiting for Lisa. Either they are[br]waiting for Lisa to create artwork or they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 are waiting for Lisa to approve the final[br]sample. The post continues: "We hope that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the information above demonstrates that we[br]have been working hard to deliver these 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 products to you. As a company, Glamour[br]Dolls is committed to producing the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 highest quality makeup products for you at[br]an affordable, accessible, and inclusive 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 price. And to that end, we are committed[br]to making this right for you. Please know 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that we are continuing to work towards[br]fulfilling our obligations to you and that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls will do everything it can[br]to make sure that this situation is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 resolved. We will continue to make[br]additional updates as we have more 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 information. We sincerely thank all of our[br]backers for your collective patience. With 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 gratitude, Peter and the Glamour Dolls Team 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And this is when the backers collectively[br]lost their sh*t. A backer named Lauren 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 summed it up very, very well. She said,[br]"Lisa Frank is still up and running in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 terms of selling product- if you go to[br]their site they still have things for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 sale. Glamour Dolls has a fully[br]Functioning website selling tons of makeup 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They even promote on Instagram to this[br]day, both of them. I am outraged. EVERYONE 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they got almost HALF A MILLION DOLLARS[br]from us. When are we going to come 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 together and do something? $100 is not[br]nothing to me, I am not rich, I am a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 single mom and this is something I treated[br]myself to. This is so wrong. Where is our 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 money? How do you have money to make and[br]sell other products and not refund us or 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 make our products we paid for over 2 years[br]ago? Because she said two years ago, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because we don't get another update from[br]Glamour Dolls until April of 2020. We are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 now 3 years after the end of the[br]Kickstarter. This is the last update that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the backers will ever receive. Well, at[br]least up until February of 2024, that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we've ever received. This is what it says,[br]and keep in mind, this is right after the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 pandemic began. Hi Backers, We hope that[br]everyone and their loved ones are healthy 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and safe during this crazy time. It has[br]been a long while since our last update 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but that does not mean that we have[br]forgotten about you or have stopped 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 fighting to get you resolution on this[br]project. We want to start by thanking all 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the amazing people who have supported us[br]through this very difficult last 2 years, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 especially the trade partners, friends and[br]family who have lived this with us. Please 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 understand that in July of 2018 the artist[br]who we were collaborating with on this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 campaign threatened to take a legal action[br]against us if we continued to update you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 about the status of the products. To date[br]we have paid over $750,000 to the artist 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in artwork fees, royalty advances and[br]sales royalties, much of which was for the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 products you purchased and did not[br]receive. It included all the money raised 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 by this Kickstarter campaign, whatever[br]money we had as a business and loans that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we and our families personally took out[br]to continue paying into this license. We 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 were blessed that a few law firms that[br]heard our situation reached out to help 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and we are continuing to work with them[br]and follow their guidance as we take the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 appropriate steps forward. Last year, we[br]met with our state's attorney general's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 office where we shared the full collection[br]of products. The included items that were 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 produced, like brushes, as well as[br]production-ready samples that were ready 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to manufacture in the spring of 2018. We[br]also provided proof of all funds received 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and all the payments made to the artist.[br]Over the past few years, we have learned 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 we are not the first people to have a [br]negative experience working with this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 artist, and then they link a Jezebel[br]article, which is full of all kinds of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 stuff, I'm going to go ahead and link[br]Bailey Sarian's video about the Jezebel 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 article down below if you want to hear all[br]the sordid details of that, and I'll also 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 link the Jezebel article itself. Then they[br]continue, nor are we the last, and this is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 an article from LA Weekly about another[br]business deal Lisa Frank did in 2019 that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 bad. And then the letter continues. While[br]many of you are frustrated, there are a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 number of people in this campaign who have[br]made it a mission to bully, defame and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 harass us on social media. Some have gone[br]as far as posting the home addresses of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 our team members or their families online.[br]Moving forward we will not tolerate this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 behavior and will take appropriate action[br]if necessary. Thank you for being patient 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with us as we continue to work with our[br]lawyers and trade partners. We are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 fighting to get you your money back and to[br]get Glamour Dolls back on its feet as a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 business. Sincerely, Peter and the Glamour[br]Dolls Team 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Before I start the conclusion of this[br]video, I wanna be very clear that I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 believe that Glamour Dolls played a huge[br]role in the misleading and the lying that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they did to backers. That's what this[br]whole video has been about. They set out 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 unrealistic expectations and never let[br]anybody that funded the unrealistic 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 expectations know that things were[br]unrealistic until it came out to the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 public, until they were forced to tell the[br]backers that they had been lying to them. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They did everything they could to string[br]backers along to make sure that they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 couldn't get refunds. Because a lot of us,[br]once this hit, of course, wanted a refund. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 We knew we weren't getting our products.[br]Nobody was getting anything else, but by 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 now, we couldn't go to our banks. Even by[br]the time we hit that update in September 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of 2018, most banks will not allow you to[br]get money back more than a year after your 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 purchase. I don't know of any bank that[br]will allow you to do that. So there was no 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 way at this point that we could get our[br]money back and I think that was the goal 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of Glamour Dolls, was to hold on to all of[br]our money because they could not afford to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 lose it, even if it meant us never getting[br]our products. I also believe that Glamour 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Dolls really did think that eventually,[br]this would all go through. They were in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 too deep financially to back out now. My[br]goal of this entire video was to show you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 what it was like to be a backer, to show[br]you the rollercoaster that Glamour Dolls 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 knowiningly put us on, the way they[br]manipulated us and lied to us, but what we 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 did not know was this next piece that I[br]want to end the video with, which is what 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa was doing to Glamour Dolls, according[br]to Glamour Dolls and the court documents 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that I was able to track down. I was only[br]able to access one court document from 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 this. They have a bunch of other ones that[br]are available to people that have access 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to that system. I do not have access to it[br]so I was not able to look at them, but the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 document I was able to look at, I found[br]out a lot. The original contract was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 signed between the companies in June of[br]2016. That was supposed to last until 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 December of 2017, where Glamour Dolls[br]would sell cosmetic products branded with 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 LFI's artwork and/or trademark their[br]licensed products. Until December 21st of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 2017, when the contract ended, Lisa Frank[br]was guaranteed, among other things, a 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 minimum royalty payment. Glamour Dolls[br]claimed that in June of 2017, Lisa started 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 being slow to review samples, and that[br]led them to start falling behind. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Remember, the products they were making at[br]this time were the 2 brushes, the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 eyeshadow, and the bronzer that were paid[br]for by the Kickfurther campaign. So, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 around when the contract was supposed to[br]end, they say it was somewhere around 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 December 17th, Lisa threatened to cease[br]production on all outstanding products, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 including discussions and review feedback,[br]and approval on already submitted samples 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 unless Glamour Dolls signed another[br]licensing agreement. They called it the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 2017 agreement and "tendered the first[br]guaranteed minimum royalty payment for 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 such in advance." Glamour Dolls says that[br]"under extreme duress" they signed a new 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 contract that increased Lisa's minimum[br]royalty payment from $100,000 to $500,000. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And this required quarterly payments[br]upfront rather than a lump sum at the end, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and this is where Glamour Dolls screwed[br]themselves. And I think it was because 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they were so scared that Lisa was going to[br]pull out of it, because if Lisa pulled her 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 copyright, they had already promised all[br]of these products to all of these backers, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and their contract didn't cover the[br]production time of those products. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The lawsuit says that around June 15th of[br]2018, this was after the last update in 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 2018 where they turned everything and[br]changed everything to LFI instead of Lisa, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls paid the 3rd $125,000[br]minimum guaranteed payment, which was 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 originally due on June 24th of 2018. They[br]said that Lisa refused to provide artwork 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 except samples for review, or engage in[br]any communication with Glamour Dolls 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 until they paid her that $125,000. This is[br]why she wasn't approving anything, because 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 she said outright, "I'm not going to do[br]anything until you give me money. You need 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to give me my sum that was part of the[br]contract that we signed, and you're 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 supposed to give me quarterly, and if you[br]don't do it, I'm not doing any more work 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for you until I get my money." So, they[br]said they did pay her. They felt like they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 had to pay her or else everything was[br]going to be for nothing. They weren't 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 going to be able to release anything, they[br]weren't going to be able to sell anything, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they were absolutely screwed. So this is[br]the kicker. After they paid Lisa the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 money, Glamour Dolls says that Lisa[br]"ordered the immediate halt of all product 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 development and advised Glamour Dolls that[br]an official response will be provided 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 within the next few days." According to[br]court documents, right after she got paid, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Lisa terminated their contract. I don't[br]know how she did it, I don't know how she 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 terminated it, but apparently, she[br]terminates the contract. The reason why 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 she did this, my friend, is because there[br]was another company that wanted to work 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 with her, and she couldn't work with them[br]if she was still working with Glamour 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Dolls. And she was set, most likely, to[br]make more money from this other contract, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and that contract was with Morphe LLC. In[br]November of 2020, Insider published an 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 article about the collaboration between[br]Lisa Frank and Morphe. That palette did 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 launch, and supposedly did very, very[br]well. It's funny, because I went over to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the Insider article, and I was like, [br]"Oh, that's me, that's me complaining!" 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because, me, as a backer, I was like, [br]"I still haven't got my products from 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Glamour Dolls, why is she collaborating[br]with Morphe?" So according to Glamour 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Dolls, in that article, they say that she[br]made defamatory statements against Glamour 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Dolls which caused "grave damage to[br]Glamour Dolls' business reputation and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 loss of good will associated with Glamour[br]Dolls products." That article is gonna be 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 linked down below, I will put a screenshot[br]of the defamatory statements on the screen 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 for you to read, you can decide whether[br]they're defamatory or not. The courts have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 yet to decide because in May of 2021,[br]Glamour Dolls filed an official lawsuit 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 against LFI. In December of 2021, Glamour[br]Dolls filed its first amended complaint. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 That's the one that I was able to see.[br]This was against Lisa Frank, asserting 9 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 different claims. The claims are:[br]1- Breach of Contract, 2- Breach of Duty 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 of Good Faith and Fair Dealing, 3- Fraud,[br]4- Unjust Enrichment, 5- Business 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Defamation, 6- False Advertising In[br]Violation of The Federal Lanham Act, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 7- Trade Libel/Product Disparagement/[br]Injurious Falsehood, 8- Tortious 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Interference with Business Expectations,[br]and 9- Liability for the Torts, Breaches 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and Debts of Defendant LFI/Piercing the[br]Corporate Veil 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I don't know what half that stuff means,[br]Imma be 100% with you, I don't know what 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that means, but what I do know is what the[br]courts decided on those things as of now. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 For Count #1- Breach of Contract, it was[br]partially dismissed. For Counts 2-9, the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 dismissal was denied, meaning that the[br]courts feel that Glamour Dolls has a case 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to push forward to present their evidence[br]for the rest of the counts. That includes 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the fraud, that includes the business[br]defamation, that includes the unjust 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 enrichment, and all the things that I[br]don't even know what it means. What's 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 important to know here is the most recent[br]court filing on this was January 26th of 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 2024. In real time, that was just a couple[br]of weeks ago. The one before that was on 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 December 19th of 2023, and again, I can't[br]access those documents. Hello, editing Jen 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 here. So, I'm editing, and I'm searching[br]for something random on my computer and I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 found this. This is a screenshot that I[br]captured from the Morphe bankruptcy case, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and in the bankruptcy filings, look what I[br]found. It is Lisa Frank who says that she 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is owed $55,000 that she never got from[br]Morphe and is probably losing in their 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 bankruptcy, so take that for what you[br]will, but I could not end the video 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 without adding that in. Back to the video. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I do have a feeling that one day there[br]will be a part 2 to this video. Because 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 there is more of the story that's going to[br]unfold, and maybe, just maybe, one day I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 will have my very own Trapper Keeper[br]eyeshadow palette. I'm not gonna hold my 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 breath, but based on the court documents,[br]it is still possible. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In conclusion, this is possibly the[br]biggest hot mess, I would argue, in the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 history of makeup launches, especially in[br]the history of collaborations. This is so 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 much worse than I ever could have possibly[br]imagined, from all of the lies to the fake 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 vintage postcard to the fake signatures to[br]the "everything is ready" but it's not, to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the leading people on with the samples[br]and the choices, and the rewards that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 weren't actually rewards, to the things[br]being sold to retailers before they were 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 even shipped to the backers, the lack of[br]communication and the too much 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 communication, the Lisa Frank screwing[br]over Glamour Dolls so incredibly royally 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that they really didn't have a lot of[br]choice but to screw over their backers. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 In hindsight of course, but there were so[br]many things that Glamour Dolls could have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 done to avoid a lot of this, and the first[br]thing they could have done was to not add 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so many products, especially adding so[br]many products that they knew they couldn't 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 deliver on. I do believe with my entire[br]soul that Glamour Dolls saw those dollar 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 signs, the dollar signs were in their[br]eyes, when they saw how much money they 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 made off of the Ipsy deal, and they wanted[br]to multiply that, and multiply that, and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 multiply that, and, to be honest, that's[br]what businesses do. They are in the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 business of making money, but this was[br]just pure bad business. It was bad 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 choosing a business partner, it was a lot[br]of bad luck, it was a lot of just bad. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 All compounding into $350,000 of people's[br]money being given, essentially, to Lisa 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Frank, and her going and collaborating[br]with Morphe and making more money, and the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 backers never getting our money back. 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So that is the full story of everything[br]that happened with the Glamour Dolls Lisa 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Frank Kickstarter. If you are still here[br]with me, hi, thank you so much for being 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 here. If you are still here, leave me a[br]unicorn or a rainbow emoji to tell me you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 made it. Thank you so much for watching[br]this very long video. I really hope[br]that you enjoyed this video, and, at this 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 point, my friend, it is your turn in the[br]collective brain of makeup awesomeness 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 where we help each other not to buy crap,[br]and to buy things that are totally worth 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it, and help us to see red flags in[br]Kickstarter campaigns so we know when to 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 pull our money out. I would love to know[br]your thoughts about anything I presented 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to you in this video. Were you a backer?[br]Did you watch what happened in real time? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Are you new to all of this information? I would[br]like to hold on to hope because my money 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 is way gone, so, maybe, what, I don't[br]know, I would like, I don't think so, I 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 don't think it's going to happen, but, you[br]know, maybe a .05% chance, we'll just have 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to wait and see. Thank you again, so, so[br]much for watching. If you're not done, if 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you feel like this video wasn't long[br]enough for you and you want to hang out 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 longer, oh my gosh, I would love for you[br]to hang out longer, YouTube should be 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 recommending a couple videos for you over[br]here including a past Behind the 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Controversy, YouTube's going to pick the[br]top one based on your viewing history 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 but if you do gotta head out of here, I'll[br]get it.
